why do you move your hands so weird?

I don't know if you play piano yourself, but when I play piano I literally feel the mood of the song and move my hands so the movement fits with the mood of the song.

For example: When I play "To Zanarkand", I play as soft as if the keys could break, but while playing the Imperial March (Star Wars) I lift my hands between each chord because it feels so dramatic =P

To cut a long story chord:

Maybe he just feels like moving his hands 'weird'. ^^

Hey thanks. Here's some quick advice to tide you over until I can make a tutorial. I believe the important skills to practice for my arrangements are voicing & hand alternation. A simple voicing exercise is playing 5 notes with your hand, 1 per finger, but one note louder than the rest. Then keep changing the loud note until you can control it perfectly - that'll help with bringing out the melody here (e.g. whenever there's alternating notes AND melody in one hand, 1:31-1:55 is full of this)

Thanks for such a quick reply! I can play really fast in such a way starting with the 5th finger on each hand and going towards the thumb, while it goes slower the other way. Does it have to do with my technique? From what I understand, it's really important how I press down on the keys, how I move my hands and so on. I've had few lessons in my life (about 13 years ago ;-)) and thus I guess that my basics suck ;-) And once more, thanks for the pin pointers!
