Is this touch screen the kind were you dont need to use skin inorder to use the screen? My phone now, i can use a pencil almost anything to press my screen. skin works as well. Is this phone the same?

@bl0odymadnes Yes, this phone is capacitive. It requires heat (like your finger) to work. The screen is made out of glass. Its not resistive.

I didnt like this phone. I remember I got it for AT&T and returned it a few days after for an iPhone. This phone would not last not even 4 hours on a full battery charge, and thats having the phone for THE FIRST FEW DAYS!! I love my iPhone, its tons better, battery lasts up to 2 days easy even when playing 3d games on it. In a nutshell, my first android, the HTC aria, gave me bad impression for android so I hated it and I love my iPhone :)

I got a pair of Aria's on the 24 & immediately rooted and then loaded the Liberated Froyo ROM. Total time was about 6 hours researching, followed with about 10 minutes with Unrevoked 3 for root and then another 20 minutes to load the 2.2 ROM, so I could run the Swype beta and tether. I'm a happy dude.

I have an Evo for company use, but leave that in my travel bag because it's too big to fit comfortably in a pocket. The down side is limited case selection. I want a Ballistic HC like on my Evo.

@PreppyPrep3000 I would definitely go with this phone. I have a Blackberry curve, i've had the torch before. And those phones can not compare with this one. I myself am looking for a new phone but, I would chose the Samsung Captivate. Just because of the features that AT&T blocked with this phone, (Yes they will be blocked on the Captivate, but things like Swipe text are already on the Captivate, less trouble.) But for you, I would chose the Aria over the Tourch anyday.

@bry504 I would go with the HTC aria. It has HTC sense and idk if the xperia has android 2.1 but the aria does and it might be able to upgrade to 2.2. And its a very pocketable device. HTC sync lets you sync up music. photos, and all of that easily from your computer. HTC is the better choice =)

The other at&t android phones may be hamstrung, but thanks to HTC sync, at&t's boundaries are almost non-existent on the aria. Anyone trying to decide between this or the captivate, id stick with this. Cheaper, HTC sync, HTC sense, smaller size, and it looks like a mini droid incredible =)
