The MACO's kick ass! They should have had a detachment of these guys on every Federation starship. Get rid of the dumbass red-shirts and bring up more of these guys....lol!

@VenomStryker I think I have an explanation. In the original timeline (with TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY), the MACOs never existed and the Starfleet Security we all know and love sucked ass. Then the future bad guys changed history with the Xindi attack, which in turn led to the MACOs coming on board Starfleet ships.

Maybe in this new parallel universe, Sisko was a MACO!

@wijayapala Possibly, but it's more likely that after the creation of the Federation, the MACO's were absorbed into Starfleet Security.

@wijayapala I have no idea. But with Earth being Starfleet headquarters, and the headquarters of the Federation, it would make sense to absorb all military commands into Starfleet. Since Earth was a united planet, there is no need for countries to have separate militaries, there is only an Earth military, which is Starfleet.

The sad inconsistency is that we NEVER see these guys in the future. Apparently to add more to Starfleet being a big pussy, they've replaced these badasses with dumbass security guys and red shirts

@Excalibur01 I agree, but it was only because Starfleet came to encompass all of Earth's armed forces including the Military Assault Command.

yeah 90% of all "security teams" get their asses kicked only minutes after appearing on camera. Federation starship security sucks balls, they should outsource security positions to the Klingon empire or something.
