try hanggliding! seriously! I fly paragliders and hanggliders - and If you feel like going further, faster and controlling the AoA directly then hg is much better! This cage really takes away all the advantages that PGs have + it looks pretty ..., well lets say, not that cool.
If so I'd say a great innovation, with one change. You should put four straps coming from the cage to the support harness. I'm too afraid of a strap break to depend on one!
you could easily over-do safety in this, but consider the easy turnover in one strap method. you could put 4 in one point whatever. one advantage i could think of is getting rid of rizer-twists completely.
maybe it's more stable. dunno. but more stable isn't always an advantage.
Take a look at my video and it will give you some idea of the control method. It is not weight shift per se but direct pitch and roll control. You effectively steer the direction you want to go and because the wing keeps it's shape there is no loss of efficiency in a turn. Collapses are handled by tilting the appropriate section of cage ie pitch up the front to counter a front collapse etc.
Before you nay-sayers weigh in your opinions based on one viewing of a you tube video you might want to actually read about it. It is not only easier to control than a paraglider but it is also easier to clear collapses with the central "big ears" handle. Ive actually seen one in real life and they are a LOT more graceful than a regular paraglider. It is the result of decades of design and testing by a respected wing designer, not some crazy basement idea. Read before you claim authority.
The idea is a bit strange and I think it's difficult to have glidercontrol in thermal conditions and to do things like b-stall and so on, but DHV is no argument. DHV SUCKS!!!
Long time ago they have done something FOR the sport...
Collapse? Fechar? What's that? A new sport? O que é isso? Um desporto novo? Hang Glide dudes !Asa Delta é a resposta para os vossos males... :oD Bons Voos ! Have nice flights!
I think this cage thing is like an enhanced control system for a paraplegic's use if their arms aren't quite strong enough to pull down on the trailing risers.
It's safer not to use words you're not quite sure of :) Paraplegic is someone with his legs paralyzed, not hands - there is quite a number of clips here on youtube with paraplegics flying normal gear.
I've got one also, and this single (and comfortable) hanging point you have, either with a hang glider or a Cage is one of the reason to fly with both of them!
wonderful vdo and music, different way of flying.

What are the advantages? Less chance of collapse?

why exactly four?

weight shifting a paraglider makes sense to a hanglider pilot ie. not braking to steer!
