ned jerett played a big part in helping wendell scott, giving him parts and motors, tires, and stuff like that, wendell scott needs to be in the nascar hall of fame!!!!
this MAN should be in the HOF,not because he was black but because he did so much with so little, and with such devotion and love for the sport,he gave to NASCAR,I think its time for NASCAR to give back.MR.dave marcus comes to mind also.
I can only assume all his racecars have already been snapped up,if not,NASCAR needs to purchase his Talladega car and his old hauler and put it in a museum,as is,unrestored. This is a must. Are you listening,NASCAR??
Beyond the racing aspect of Wendell Scott's life, I have seen interviews with his kids and wife. They seem like class acts- that speaks volumes as well as his determination to compete on the track. A good man
You can just feel the pain and pure emotion of him recalling those events. I only wish that he could have finished that race. If he did I'm sure his life would have turned out much different! He deserved better!
I was a racecar driver back in the 80's and early 90's. I drove a streetstock in my early years that Wendall himself would have felt at home in. It was a 1967 Ford Fairlane. After raising a few eyebrows here and there I found myself in a brand new streetstock only to climb the back wheel of a competitor and ending up on my roof perched on top of a concrete reatining wall ending my career. I feel a connection with Wendall and would love to restore a Scott racecar. Anyone help me find one?
@davidmorris67 My email is the best way to contact me with information leading me to a car owned and raced by Wendall. Serious replies please to davidamorris67@yahoo.com

Wendell is a true american treasure-he gave more than even Jackie Robinson. Maybe nascar should retire the #34.

Damn proud to say I'm from the same town as him, we need more racers like him and less racers like Kyle Busch
