  • Strange responses for this video once more.

  • Nice slides & thanks for the infos.

  • @BigInfowarrior Glad you liked it! :)

  • What a crock of shit! Maybe if people would wake up to the Real Barefoot Trimmers out there. Not the farriers and not the bad trimmers. Laminitis is not a disease.

  • Wow. This is very informative. Our TB was foundered when we first rescued her but now is doing great.

  • I would have loved to hear this guys opinion on "is there a difference between laminitis and founder" All these years horseman always said founder is just another word for laminitis. But ive always felt that there were two parts to this ailment. I felt that a horse could contract laminitis and later founder, but couldnt founder unless he contracted laminitis first.

  • Drs. Moore and Belknap explain: "laminitis is a term used for any animals exhibiting laminar pain regardless of whether or not there is displacement of the distal phalanx (coffin bone), whereas "founder" is most commonly used to describe a horse with laminitis in which displacement (rotation and/or "sinking") of the distal phalanx has occurred."

  • Sorry I didnt see your reply sooner. Ok so what I gather from that is "laminitis is a term used for any animals exhibiting laminar pain" sorta like colic is a general term to describe any abdominal pain?

  • Its my thinking that it wasnt foundering until the sensitive laminae died and separted from the coffin bone causing the bone to rotate or slip downward. Its my belief that if you catch laminitis soon enough you can prevent the foundering. Ive been thinking this way for like 15 years now even though all my vet books dont.

  • VET'S dont understand the hoof as much as they would like you to think they do!
