  • Go to my channel. Il show you how a real mechanic sharpens blades!

  • he forgot to mention that you should wear safety goggles, drink plenty of fluids, and get a good night sleep before doing this minor chore. also take a breathalizer test to make sure you aren't inebriated!

  • so all you have to do is remove the blade...buy the sharpener from Lowes....and then the blade sharpens itself.

  • For a newbie, it's a good introduction.

  • There was no mention on how to sharpen the blade. This video doesn't help in the least....

  • Most Lowes videos are pretty helpful but this one isn't. He spends more time listing off the things you'll "need" and what stuff Lowes sells than anything Doesn't eve show you how to sharpen the blade! He also doesn't point out that you should refer to the manual for which way is the safe way to tip the mower (varies depending on the engine). I'd also remove the spark plug to eliminate any chance of accidental starting.

  • Does gas not come out of the carburetor when you tip it on its side like that?

  • @TonyInTopeka if you tip it on the other side it can, but most of all oil will come out and soak the filter

  • Im still wondering how to sharpen my blade......

  • Read the owners manual on which way you can tip your mower - with mine I have to tip it towards the oil dip stick (which is how you have to drain the oil as well), so I just drain out the oil and then take off the blade and take it to get sharpened.

  • That was a waste of time. And false advertising. Nothing in there about sharpening

the blade at all. "First, get out of bed" then unscrew the bolts" etc etc.

  • Lowes doesnt service their equipment, people like me do! First off they sell poor products whom are made in china and dont have a clue what they are talking about.

  • I have seen many blades that were sharpen to many times or just plain done wrong. You can only get away with so much and a lot of extra tools are not that nessary. For instants if all you need to balance your blade which should be done, is use a simple carpenters nail put into the side of a secured piece of wood and hang the blade buy its center hole will give you a good Idea if its balanced or not.

A balanced blade is Important and will stop most of the vibrations coming from a lawn mower.

  • It's best to have your 5 year old son sharpen your blade this way, it's actually the most effective way, just start the mower and have him stick a knife sharpener in the spinning blade.

  • cover the petrol cap, good idea.

pour engine oil into carb, bad idea.

then take to shop to empty, clean and adjust carb.

    total cost £45.

  • take it to your local lawn mower shop and pay them 5 bucks:)

  • How do you sharpen a blade again? lol this vid was pointless.

  • @EJConrad now this was a waste of time a dummy could have done this....
