This game should never have been played there, location can give a team an edge and I really think the NCAA screwed this up. Minnesota plays at this rink several times a year if I'm not mistaken. No team should ever have home ice advantage for a game of this much importance.

You are quite mistaken. Minnesota only plays there in the WCHA tournament. The site of the Frozen Four is determined years in advance and it hasn't been on any schools home ice for a number of years.

Wisconsin won a championship at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee in 2006...another home game. It happens. The next year, Minnesota won the title on the East Coast. As was said before, it isnt as if the game was scheduled in Minnesota knowing the Gophers would be in it. It was scheduled years in advance.
