Dude I love Fraps, and I use it still. But the only part that I HATE about fraps is that it makes a LARGE file. I convert that file with random software so it would become smaller, but that takes time which is making me mad. That's why Im currently looking forward into Wegame because it makes video that I can practicly direct upload to youtube.

Hey Bardoc. I recently bought myself a gaming computer. It wasn't cheap, and I did expect a lot from it. I can play skyrim and Saints row the third on ultra, but Skyrim laggs while recording with Fraps, EVEN on the low video settings.. How's that possible? I can play the game itself lag free on Ultra. Any ideas?

All of the hardware is new and should be pretty good, though the harddrive is old. I took it from an old computer... If you reply, thanks in advance!

@xMalicious I can say with almost certainty that the issue is with your harddrive. As FRAPS is recording, it has to write to your harddrive. If your harddrive cant keep up, it will basically make your FRAPS useless. For maximum recording performance, use an SSD. Until you can buy one, a 7200 RPM HDD should do.

@l3ardoc Thank you very much for replying! I have my suspicions about the hard drive. Whenever I play say, Skyrim, it runs flawlessly on Ultra, but when it starts to "softly" load a new area (as it's a huge world, you know), it lags for a split second. A framerate drop, if you will. I will definitively get myself a new hard drive asap. I am currently using the SATA 3/6 ports. Can't remember which one though.

If you haven't figured, I'm a PC scrub! My friend helped me order it. I built it though

I noticed on the settings page there was check box under the general settings for 64bit, why was this unchecked? You have a good 64bit CPU so I assume you could have used that setting. Would the benchmark have ran any faster or slower if that box was checked?

If you have a decent PC you can afford to use a paid version of fraps which handles 1080P beautifully, but... if you cannot get fraps then try MSI-Afterburner, perfect for emulations, runs without lag to most games but its not as good as fraps in terms of smooth recordings, almost there but no quite, if you buy fraps you get lifetime updates and it's getting better all the time.

Crysis is more GPU crazy.. makes very low(ish) utilization of the CPU. Fraps from what i see is more CPU crazy. the fact that Wegame actually decreased the FPS (in your demo) tells me that Wegames just isn't coded right (at least the version you was using) which may have been updated.. for me i just don't like the file size, but then again. we need every detail we can for post processing :)
