The first half of this vid was absolutely perfect, enchanting, and awesome. Why on earth did have you end it with a banal song that spoiled it all ? That song by itself, OK; it's the soul of Ireland. But the mixture doesn't keep its promises. I don't get it !
Ouch! I broke the chapters of my travel videos up by day rather than topic. I have a connection between the "banal" song and Mullingar so that's why I used it. I also thought that it helped delineate the change from the aura of mystery and history of Newgrange to the bustle of Mullingar. Plus, I just can't imagine scoring all of my Ireland videos with Enya.
OK, dear Superbonanza. I understand your reasons, now. By the way when I used the word banal, it was in no way derogatory. But I must admit it came in as a surprise due to differences in styles. I love Irish music and songs even though I am not Irish. So please, don't be offended.
Fair enough. I suppose that the musical changes make better sense in the context of the entire video (most of which I have posted). I love Irish music as well and wanted to represent all kinds from traditional to modern.
ugh.. i have an aversion to bears.. lol.. seriously... it was higher up than the driveway and too small for a tree and.. it was moving..seemed at an angle from the top left down.. then kinda disappeared... a bird maybe? too much caffeine? not enough caffeine? a spec on the camera? a spec on my glasses? ahh whatever it is.. i think its a wonderful video.. thanks for posting it
I think it is just an artifact from the compression youTube uses, but not sure from what. A mystery for the ages, I suppose.
Thanks for your kind words. I've had a lot of fun putting these videos together and I think it is very cool that people other than my family are enjoying them.
Not quite sure what you're looking at. In the doorway? That's the shadow from the room projecting forward to the left. The front left on the driveway? A couple of oil stains. To the left of the house? A giant teddy bear head...just kidding, there is a bank of trees that were "dropped" because of the glare off the house. The "ears" were two taller trees and the rest is a mostly one larger, but shorter tree. Let me know if this doesn't help
That second song is a gem...fuck Enya
