The biggest question for me is in relation to beauty within nature. Evolution would explain why I see the sky as beautiful but not a coral reef which non of ancestors would ever have seen. I wonder why when diving a reef why do I not simply perceive fish as food? Why do I see so much beauty and marvel at the self contained eco system and diversity.

They need each other, need to protect and even love their young, morality is simply an extension of this. I have yet to see anything in the bible that would convince me it wasn't simply a book.

Spending summer vacation in Cambodia 2 years ago, I visited Toul Sleng with a fellow khmer brother. Everyone in my family that lived over there was reluctant and I did not understand why. Me being raised and born in American thought of it as an other museum but when I actually went through the place it felt eerie. I left with the feelings of indescribable pain, sorrow, awareness and all of these above. I don't regret my visit because it only made me understand and appreciative of my family

Personal freedoms? Gun rights? Erm, communism can exist within any civil structure. It's has an economic goal, to create a classless society. They need each other, need to protect and even love their young, morality is simply an extension of this. What Plato referred to as "intelligibility" (pre Bible) does not seem to be strange either as we see the gradation of intellect through the evolutionary table. I have yet to see anything in the bible that would convince me it wasn't simply a book.

Spending summer vacation in Cambodia 2 years ago, I visited Toul Sleng with a fellow khmer brother. Everyone in my family that lived over there was reluctant and I did not understand why. Me being raised and born in American thought of it as an other museum but when I actually went through the place it felt eerie. I left with the feelings of indescribable pain, sorrow, awareness and all of these above. I don't regret my visit because it only made me understand and appreciative of my family

Communism removes incentive from the people, that is the worst part and if it is meant to remove the inequality, yet how did that work in Russia, in China, anywhere it's been tried? The leaders/government officials live well, the people suffer, but at least they suffer equally right? Capitalism is not perfect, but it is by and far better than anything else available. True Capitalism works great, the more cronyism that creeps in (ushered in by liberals) the worse it works

And under "true capitalism" 40% of the people on earth don't have access to clean drinking water. The Americans aren't people who just "sat by and did nothing", but they were an actual influence as to why the Khmer Rouge grew to power, and fueled the fire to their anger. Before the genocide, Nixon and Hassinger bombed the neutral country of Cambodia and instead of killing North Vietnamese troops, they killed Cambodian civilians. Way to go America, you've yet to learn from this mistake. As if the WW2 Hiroshima bombings weren't enough, you had to turn civilians into murderous monsters.

It's almost unbelievable how Pol Pot ordered "educated" people to be killed. For you to be considered "educated" you either had contacts with foreigners, wore glasses, spoke a foreign language or had left the country at some point for abroad. FUNNY - that describes a large amount of the Khmer Rouge leaders - many of them wore glasses, had studied in France (spoke French) and obviously had contact with foreigners. I visited Cm,abodia and the camp22 last year. It is almost unbearable what happened there and the Yankees didnt do nothing. in mid April 1975 when they left Cambodia the Khmer Rouge were already massacred people. The US gov't knew about it. They didnt do nothing. 2 weeks later they did teh same in Saigon, Vietnam... They left the South alone so the North could invade and made the whole country communist. The USa goal was: spread the virus of communism world-wide! Shame on u USA!

Really in no other communist country ever people have been driven out from cities to work in rice farms of countryside and also no other communist leader has been stupid enough to believe that everyone has same ability to for example design dams and stuff that requires education that most of them didnt have.

@Pvjinflight You are wrong again. After WW2 the communists repatriated Germans (Volksdeutschen) from Silezia, Czechoslovakia, Poland and Romania. Hundreds of thousands were forced to live their homes in Germany, Hungary, and Romania.
Forced labor, starvation murdered millions AFTER the war. And dont forget Eisenhower's death camps with the soviets' help. The US army threw millions into the hands of communists. My family was involved too, but they survived the forced relocation.

Pol Pot was a Maoist and Stalinist, both of which were based on Leninism, which was an already pretty bastardized form of communism. If you think any of those even closely resembles communism or Marxism, you've got some reading up to do.
Saying Stalinist are to communists like social liberals are to libertarians. Just because someone decided to bastardize one slowly into the other, doesn't mean they have much in common.

Personal freedoms? Gun rights? Erm, communism can exist within any civil structure. It's has an economic goal, to create a classless society. You can be pro-civil liberties and be a communist (like anarcho-communists or libertarian socialists) or anti-civil liberties (like Christian communism, although I haven't met too many of those). Many libertarian socialist will argue you that capital itself restricts individual freedoms and the possibility to enjoy them.

I already explained this to you. The Khmer Rouge were Maoists, who weren't Communists (according to Marx and Engles) in the least bit. In fact, by that time Maoism had already ripped itself apart from Stalinism (known as the Sino-Soviet split). Do you have any sort of idea what the central theories in Marxist Communism are? Do you have any idea what the central ideas in Leninism, Stalinism and Maoism are? Have you ever read anything by Marx or Engles and compared it to Lenin?
