This is Brazil 1994.And in that video Schumacher car had a Ilegal Traction Control (Schumachar also comitment that later and Beneton team),Senna car did not. and Wiliams had a wery bad car in first 5 races that year.Ask Damon Hill :"Car was undriveable", while Schumacher Beneton from 1994 was the best car he ewer drive.Schumacher say that for F1 Racing magazine. However Senna took 3 poles until tragedy in Imola. So that was Arton Senna rain man lady,s and gentleman.Simply the best.
Also i noted this is the race done in the Williams bolid ... that car was a piece of shit , thats why Ayrton died... this car was uncontrolable it was like a beast , even when the constructors tried to fix it they made it worse , it had both understeer and oversteer , the car during the first lap was balanced , but when the second lap started the car was simply dancing thru the corners. Michael's Benneton was much better built , thats why he conquered the Formula1 after Senna's death.
im impressed by Senna's and Michael's fans ! Michael was good i have to admit that but Senna was on a league of his own ! Michael was great in the best racing car , Ayrton was the best at every car! remind that , cheers, and R.I.P Ayrton , ure missed!
Anyone found illegal traction controls in Beneton in 1994. Only a Start Control, launch control, but if you look carefully to the starts of Schumi in brasil, imola, monaco, montmelo, silverstone, hockhenheim, hungría, spa, jerez, adelaida, you would bet that Schumacher has not any illegal control.
It is quite illustrating, that being Beneton under strong surveillance, when Schumacher returned in Jerez 94 he was superb, again the best in the field.
The only question is how much slower would Schumacher have been if he hadn't been using the car with illegal traction control. Simple fact that no one can dispute and that even Benetton admitted, their car had traction control on it which was illegal under FIA rules... of course they only admitted it after the season was over with
@andykiska If the B194 had illegal traction control then don't you think it would of been a Benetton 1-2 every race... it would of given them a HUGE advantage?!!!!!
@apj5454 Jos Verstappen was Schumacher's team mate in 1994 and he has stated this year that Schumacher's car was different than his car.He believes and has gone on record with his beliefs. He believes than only one of the Benetton's had the banned electronic aids.He has said "In kart he never beat me"
@irishguy200007 "The car was very competitive in the hands of Michael Schumacher, for which the B194 was specifically designed to suit his driving style. Other teams suspected the B194 was not legal, due to the high competitiveness of such a comparatively underpowered car. The FIA launched an investigation and a start sequence (launch control) system was discovered in the cars' onboard computer systems but no traction control." Schumi was fast in that car because it was like a kart...
@apj5454 drivers like senna and schummi would race a ilegal car and close the gap, or make it far more dificult to the ilegal car to get ahead, out of pure TALENT. just like senna in this video... remember; benneton was run by the greatest cheater in f1 history; flavio briatore. schummi car was rigged, at least, it had launch control, no question about it.
@davifernandeslima01 I'm not quite sure what your point is there but i'm certain that there was no traction control on the B194. But yea, teams always push the boundaries of the rules.
@apj5454 my point is that great drivers close the gap even with uneven cars :D benneton had been investigated for having TC on the season's end... they found it "off", but not deactivated or missing like the rest of the grid; it could be turned on with a laptop back then...looking all the footage available, i think tc was on at some starts. and yeah, totally agree. like piquet with a water-cooled brakes brabham car, and all chapman's or briatori crazy stuf.... :D
Your asking how he was so much faster than Joe. Well he was the "1st" driver meaning his car will at any time get upgraded at any time. To be 1st driver you need to drive faster than the other driver in an equal car/make results... Pretty simple
If he had one, it was to ruin his starts.
It is quite illustrating, that being Beneton under strong surveillance, when Schumacher returned in Jerez 94 he was superb, again the best in the field.
Like Jos Verstappen said to the press, Michael's car was loaded with a lot of illegal stuff like active suspension and TC, and those aids were forbidden in that year!
Thats why he could outdrive senna.....germans......
i don't think schumacher was as fast on a lap as senna was but he made up for it in other ways. Also I think schumacher would have had MANY more pole positions if refueling hadn't been reintroduced in 1994
@ThreeLiterV10 What has pole position to do with refueling? As for the "other ways" you mention that he used in 1994 - it was illegal TC and illegal non-filtered fueling rig. :)
@hristoitchov ferrari often ran with higher fuel than other teams in qualifying, which compromised their q times for race strategy. they both had their fair share of wrongdoings and people form their own opinions about any person. one thing we can agree on is they will both always be remembered as the all time greats
@ThreeLiterV10 Ferrari? Schumacher was in Benetton back then, so Ferrari has nothing to do with it. Besides, why would they run more fuel in Qualifying? There was no such requirement to do so, everyone simply ran with just enough fuel for 1-2 flying laps. Your comment that he would have gotten more pole positions if there was no refueling just makes no sense. Do you perhaps mean more pole positions throughout his whole career?
@hristoitchov my comment refers to how they did not run on minimum fuel, at least in the 2000s. for instance in 2004 the ferrari was the fastest car, but it didn't always get pole position because at that time you were not allowed to refuel in between qualifying and the race. this meant that some teams would run higher fuel in qualifying so that they wouldn't have to stop as early and would be more successful in the race. So in short it wasn't completely about who was the fastest
When Senna is doing great nobody of his fans says "that was because the car was good".
They could say that in Donington 93, for example. Senna is doing great but that Mclaren was the best car in wet that day. Even Mich Andretti in that Mclaren overtook ... Schumacher!! And by the outside track!! That was a joke. And Andretti was the quicker driver after Senna in first lap. Of course before crashing, so bad driver Andretti was...
They messed up the design of the Williams at the start of 1994. Yet Senna still managed to put in on pole, while Hill was seconds slower. Later during the season, they sorted the car out, allowing Hill to be able to compete with Shumi. At the last race of the season, when you could say that Schumi was at his best, Mansell was on pole by a good margin. And that was a semi-retired older Mansell. And Senna was faster than Mansell. In conclusion, Senna was quicker than Schumi.
About the question in video title, well, they're genius, and semi-equals in terms of race pace speed, but, in this gp, Schumacher was in avg. 0.300s more faster than Senna.
Senna suffered to get closer in the last half of the race, and the result was an broken Williams. Schumacher won putting a whole lap over D.Hill, and that was the major result of that titans clash.
Can´t compare based only in 3 races, unfortunately an acident happened... and the real history we will never know... but you forget that the 3 pole positions are conquered by Senna? We was the fastest!!!
1 Senna 2 Jim Clark 3 Fangio 4 Alain Prost 5 Niki Lauda 6 Gilles Villeneuve 7 Stirling Moss 8 Niki Lauda 9 Fernando Alonso 10 Schumacher. "how can you place Schumacher in 10th position?" People have eyes and as far i can see Schumacher would never be 7wc if it wasn't for: 1 Senna death, 2 Briatore cheats, 3 best car for 5 straight years (and no extraordinary rivals in 4 of thouse 5), 6 teammate to back up him, 7 Ross Braw protection
Come on. lets be honest here, we all know that Benetton had more technology in it than a fucking NASA space craft. i am not disputing the fact that Schumacher was an amazing driver, all im saying is in that particular season that one car was very different from the rest, even the benetton's of his team mates. and if what had happend in imola had not happened, schumacher may well have only had 5 (or less) titles to his name and we would be looking at 4 (or more) for senna.
ps- senna knew they were using banned electronic help, he knew by watching the car, the sounds it made and asked Williams to protest the car. Williams refused, but that showed the greatness of the man, he knew how Schumi was beating him!!! He was proved right, but hell, no surprise there right!!
The Benneton car was proven to have hidden banned electronic aid features such as traction control. It was activated with a very complex series of button push's. It was discovered by the FIA mid season, but they could never prove one / or both of the drivers ever used it. If you saw the way Schumi got that car off the line, you can be pretty confident in the fact he used it!! Why the FIA didn't ban the car knowing it had this feature, or even make sure they took it off the car is a mystery.
Firstly doesn't matter if shumi has 7 titles, the important is that Senna batlled against many champions Prost (same team), Mansell, Lauda, Rosberg. Spectacular era for F1, and Shumi ran in a powerfull ferrari with teammates in contract prohibited to attack, that's ferrari style of to race. Never more saw two teammate dueling for the tittle /watch?v=BqO04xIPihY
F1 has became boring with dirty games. And Secondly only Barrichelo and Irvine hehe
Schumacher had to do the same. In 1999 at Sepang (Malaysia) when he made his comeback after he had broken his leg at Silverstone.
The German got the Pole in Malaysia and led comfortably, but he was ordered by Ferrari to let his teammate (Irvine) pass, who had yet chance for winning the title for Ferrari, profiting from Häkkinen's bad lucks. The Finnish drove for McLaren-Mercedes.
@Hungary599 so what? the fact of the team has opened an exception? still the same dirty game, They should had battled always, had the best cars on the grid but they never did. So the champion is just a fake, people have eyes
@Hungary599 Yea and Senna was on his way for his first win in his only 5th race in a Toleman Hart!!! at Monaco before the stewards (or Balestre?) saved Prost in his McLaren with the red flag. That really impressed everyone, even people who didn't watch F1.
Schumacher was just another talented driver. He became the Schumacher we all know when Benetton still used the forbidden electronics.
@Saki2407 Senna knew that he was faster than Prost, Piquet, Rosberg or Mansell. But he wasn't sure of that in Schumacher'a case. The German made him uncertain.
It (Schumacher's appearance in the F1) was the first time, when Senna was really challenged by a young, uprising driver, and Senna felt the threat.
@krayziegus So what? Benetton made exception for Schumacher that gave him averagely 1,5sec/lap advantage for every race compared to his actual teammate?
I can't say that there never was any exception in F1, BUT DUDE every team need 2 car to scoring points, and NO ONE team that stupid to give 1-1,5sec slower car to their 2nd driver....So think it again...
@hlidskjalf666 so? after 1991 many cars defeated Mclaren, before 91 only willians did. I had the privilege of watching f1 in 80's and 90's , know exactly how the history has been done. The engine has aways been the strong point of Mclaren, but Honda left F1 in 91 and Mclaren became the third team after willians benetton and ferrari.
@hlidskjalf666 Schumacher is just another champion among many others, but the best german rider was Stefan Bellof. He debuted in F1 with Senna and they made a great show in diferent teams, (Toleman and Tyrrel) both are the best drivers i ever seen by a long shot.
Observe the king of automobilism and compare with the pilots nowadays , that's where we separate the men from the boys.
@hlidskjalf666 schumacher is the best!!! and i dont think i will live to see equal driver to schumachers briliance on the track or in the pits.!.!.!.!
Impressive how British hate Piquet to the point of not mentioning him. LOL, guess they will never forget 1987 when Mansell managed to lose to Piquet while being an english in an english team (Williams).
The Benetton and Schu were cheating in 94 with traction control and it's not the only time Benetton were known to cheat. Lets not forget why Briatore was kicked out of the sport. And who cares who was faster,Senna was more human and adored more.
Willians had the best cars in the season of 93, revolutionized with traction control and active suspension. When Senna move to Willians in 94 season, the FIA made another move, like so many before, to hold the brazilian and banned these technologies for 94. But Briatore has awalys been a vulture:
It's easy for any pilot to overtake on the pit stops whit irregular valve that makes it about 3 secs faster than the other teams. That's was so obvious and ridiculous... Schumacher didn't need that, and Senna was going to win that championship without any doubt...
Schumacher pits after Senna, saves 3 seconds with the increased fuel flow after Benetton removed the safety filter. The FIA investigation of Benetton by Intertechnique after Hockenheim indicated that removing the safety filter increased the fuel flow to over 13 liters/sec, gaining an average saving of 3 seconds per pistop for a 2 stop race.
Jos Verstappen and Michael Schumacher were NOT driving the SAME car. Michael, being a rising sportscar star, had the backing of some of the best engineers who helped set up the car to be competitive. It just goes to show, though, that setup of the car IS EVERYTHING. Senna was also able to do this, which is why he would often complain even after he stuck it on pole for the race.
The brilliance of the 1994 Benetton was Schumacher's "one man show".
The German alone scored 92 points, meanwhile the 3 other Benetton drivers (Verstappen, Lehto and Herbert) could only get a very modest 11 points, without winning a single race.
Meanwhile at Williams nr.2 driver Damon Hill was victorious 6 times, scored 91 points, and even oldie Nigel Mansell was able to triumph for Frank Williams' team, getting the Pole in Australia.
@Hungary599 Schumi is a great driver and Senna was too. i would just like to mention that had the FW 16 been as good in the first half of the season as it was in the second it would have dominated the entierty of the season, it was areodinamically inbalanced and had poor handling characteristics (under steer on entry over steer mid corner hence the spins from both senna and hill that frequently happened). Honestly it just comes down to who apeals to you more.
@Hungary599 If Schumacher is a one man show & you're saying 'can out perform his car' explain to me the year of 2005 with Schumacher?
And I bet my life, if Senna lived, he'd have beaten Schumacher in 94'. The Williams started to work Spain onwords, as we all saw from a less talented Damon Hill, because he could still catch Schumacher's early lead in the championship & should've won the 94 title.
@SebbyHaughtonf1 In 2005 all of the major teams switched to Michelin tyres, and Ferrari was alone with Bridgestone. Thus the Italians couldn't get enough informations about the tyres what resulted a decline for the reds in that season.
In 2006 Toyota and Williams also "joined" Bridgestone, what helped Ferrari to be competitive again.
Schummacher is a great driver but you just make youself look like an idiot comparing them when there is also a video of schummacer saying "greatest driver ever is senna" it was in the top gear special on senna. also if your going to argue about whos better dont use this video, you already make yourself look stupid, dont make yourself look like a retard. he took him over in the pits because his crew was faster. there was no skillfull overtake or anything.
@TheLemmiwink5 So,according to you, are the experts who make a comparison between Senna and Schumacher "stupid" ?
Senna was one of the best in qualifying, driving a light car on one single lap. Schumacher was one of the greatest in race conditions, with lot of fuel on board, making long runs.
The figures show that clearly :
Senna's 65 Pole (and 19 fastest laps) , respectively Schumacher's 76 fastest laps is the obviuos evidence for that.
@Hungary599 But lets just consider that Vestappen was on his 1st ever GP, the B194 was only his 2nd F1 car he ever drove and he even wanst expecting to race, as JJ Lehto was to be the second driver before his injury...
@TheLemmiwink5 look dude have you seen the footage saying schumacher only said sennas better because schumi didnt want to be treated specially. schumacher was in an inferior car and he beat senna. and do you want some more footage of schumacher passing senna in yet another inferior car?? every driver in history will be compared to schumacher and not senna. thats proof enough
Also i would like to clear up 2 other things, even in this car ayrton was still qualifying and getting pole, in his last race at imola he qualified at pole faster then schumi. Also schumi was disqualified after the belgian race for using illegal wear on his cars skidblock, a measure used to limit downforce and hence cornering speed hence cheater.
that car won williams a number of championships before ayrton got into it because they where the first team to have computerised suspension. they had the car built around thier drivers. When senna came into the team, the car was in no way tailored for him and had to start the season with a car that was in no way shape or form able to support the full ability of ayrtons driving style.
@TheLemmiwink5 actually, the 94 season was the first season without driver aids, none of the cars on the grid had fancy suspension, nor launch control or traction control, and senna had serious problems getting adapted to the car, but it would have been the same for everybody who employed those aids in the past.
@spc1980ro it is the opposite mclaren was competitive only because had honda engine but the car was very unbalanced and still with semi manual gearbox..In Willians he was adjusting to drive a car with much more eletronics and shift paddles. But benetton used secretly traction control and other devices took the ring from the fuel control to gain more speed at the pits. 94 season was the beginning of the decline, Briatore was banned of F1
wrong! in 93 everybody thought mclaren went down, and the main reason was the engine, at least that was the general opinion. for your information, mclaren had, what people thought, a very good traction control system. it was the williams that lost balance after the ban, and senna found it very hard to control, as it had many a times an under-steering character, and over-steering in the same corner.
about benetton, well, you´re wrong again. the code was there, but to engage it required quite a complicated sequence before the start and a computer, all of this nullified by the fact that there was a formation lap. another correction is necessary: the system in question was the launch control, not the traction control. about the fuel rig, if you investigate little bit, you will find out that all but 4 teams used the same rig, in the same configuration.
@spc1980ro i have not spoken to find or suppositions for this or that, like you did. facts are proven everyone saw and everyone knows. Mclaren never had traction control only a sketch of what would be. Willians car has awalys been much more technical and advanced all the 80's and most of 90 years. 94 season was a disaster with scandals and benetton cheating, Briatore was banned from F1
well, going with the flock is always easier than having a mind of your own. briatore was banned from f1 in 2009. late 80´s mclaren was the superior team, early 90´s were the years of williams. benetton came out of nowhere, and people like you assumed they were cheating. from assuming to assuring is a long way. to be honest, i think you´re talking rubbish, and it appears to me that you have no clue about the events
@spc1980ro it's funny because i think the same thing about you. I had the pleasure of watching F1 80's and early 90's i know how the historty has been done. Never trust in Briatore he work as an pilots agent (Alonso,Schumacher, Trulli, Button,Webber, Kovalaine ...) and in 94 he showed that was able to cheat to valuate their pilots, but now the mask fell
@zorkytotal Schumacher´s agent is not Briatore, is Willy Weber. i had the pleasure of watching some of the 80´s (well, recordings), but many of the 90´s i saw them live. on top of that, i took an interest not only in the results but in the way they were delivered, and tried to inform myself from serious, unbiased sources (media, press releases...). yes, briatore is not famous for being fair. Schumacher was effectively banned from 4 races in 94, and still won the WDC
yes, and coulthard and hill were both very good drivers and this makes it even more impressive. also, for most of the 90´s williams was widely seen as the best car on the grid
Senna, in 1984 was with a uncompetitive car, he qualify at 13th and on the lap 19 he overtakes Niki Lauda(2nd) after Prost cheat and ask to end the race he end when Senna overtakes him. Like at Donnington Park, the people say that cant overtaqke there, Senna proves that was a lie
@GabrielArapiraca Great performance from Senna, no question about that.
Overtaking is tough, but yet isn't impossible in Monaco. Schumacher has also proved that, when he fought his way back to 5th position in 2006, after being penalized, he had to start from the back of the grid (as 22nd) because of his qualifying incident.
@Hungary599 but the problem is that Senna start with competitive cars in front of him, Schumacher after being penalized overtakes guys with uncompetitive cars.
@Hungary599 so you can say for sure that if Prost hadn't deliberately turned early into Senna and then had Balestre wrongly disqualify Senna (thus ruining his chance at the title) at Suzuka, Senna definitely wouldn't have won the title? How the hell do you know? Can you see some sort of parallel universe that the rest of us can't perceive? You obviously have it out for Senna. He was the best - he didn't have to cheat and whine to officials like Schumi and Prost, who you vehemently defend.
@22astonmartin In Suzuka overtaking is very difficult. Witt equal cars (Prost v Senna in McLaren Honda) it's (almost) impossible.
This wasn't the race, where Senna lost all championship hopes. In 1989 Senna could only finish 9 races. It was 4 less what Prost was capable of. Senna was obviously faster than Prost in that year, but he wasn't concentrating on the championship, he wasn't mature enough comparing to Prost, who was an experienced "old fox."...
@22astonmartin ...For example at Monza in 1989, Senna was leading Prost by a huge margin, but he yet didn't reduce his pace and his Honda engine blew up just some laps before the finish.Prost won eventually.
So,in that single race Senna lost 12 vital points, and that cost him the title.
It doesn't matter how good you're, if you can't finish races, if you don't collect enough points what are enough to be world champion. It was a tough lecture for Senna, he later learned from it.
@Hungary599 Jos had the same equipment as Michael had, Santa Claus and Easter Bunny are real. Before 1999, Eddie Irvine was driving always in 4th-8th zone, always 50s to 1 lap behind, overtaken by Jordans and Benettons, but after Schumacher's crash in '99 Silverstone, Irvine began to fight with Mika for the title!! Ow, c'mon, makes me laugh!! And Irvine just lost the title for 2 points!! How?? Magic?? No! Because Ferrari gave him the MSC car, and nominated him 1st driver temporarily!! Shame!
@Crescviper your math means nothing because a) Senna was cheated out of the WDC in '89 due to F1 favoritism/politics + b) he would have also won the WDC in '93 if Prost had not blocked him from Williams, something Prost admitted + c) MS was cheating in '94, so his wins mean nothing + d) MS raced for a dominant team with practically no competition for years (had Senna not been killed, he would have won some of MS's titles) = SENNA DESERVED 5 TITLES BEFORE HE DIED & 7+ HAD HE LIVED = KING OF F1.
The only reason, why Senna "lost" the title in 1989 was that, that he often overworked his McLaren. That's why he retired many times in that season, losing valuable points. He wanted to lap Prost, he wanted to '"humiliate" his opponents.
He only began to realize how important to finish races later. In 1991 He drove with much more patience, much more care. The result : he became world champion in an inferior car.
Check out Fangio`s career and stactics, every driver that raced against him will tell you he was the best driver in history. Also Senna and Clark are in that league, but Schumager? what has he shown in his carrer? cheating mostly. He is very fast, but thats it. Schumager, Bernie and Ferrari cheated. It was evident that F1 needed a new hero after Senna left us, and what better team to do it than Ferrari. The perfect business. Open your eyes people. Profesional sports are getting worst and worst.
@lucass81 You seem to forget the fact, that Schumacher impressed in his 1st full season in F1 (in 1992 - finishing 3rd) beating the more experienced, world champion Senna (finishing 4th).
SENNA driving in 1st with that shitty Williams proves that he was much better than the cheater Schumacher (with the electronics aids!!) B194 was the best car of '94 (look at the video, even Jos was pressuring on Senna). Even so the only way to Shumy overtakes Senna was in the pitstop - otherwise he would NEVER overtake him. The FW16 sucks - the big deal of Williams FW14 and FW15 of Mansell and Prost, was the active suspension and electronics. Without it the Williams was uncontrollable, dangerous
@tmmphono : Jos had same equipment as Michael had, Santa Claus : Easter Bunny are real. Shame!
Senna is the better driver compared to Schumacher, I judge them on the 93 season when Senna had a lesser specification Ford engine and he won Five Times to Schuey's one (both had the Ford V8). There's rumours now that Benetton was using traction control which would've aided Schuey. Senna is a legend, Schumacher great though he is cannot hope to be as good as Ayrton was.
its actually pointless to comare senna to schumacher because both of them were just awesome
senna for pushing to the max for every lap and all the work his foundation has since done in brazil and schumacher for just his sheer ruthlessness and turning ferrari back into a winning team- not by himself but still a brilliant achivement. But there is something that both senna and schumacher fans can agree on - both were awesome in the rain.
I don't give a flying fuck about MSC nowadays, but then he was simply cheating. The whole Benetton team was cheating, and that's too obvious to even debate about it.
@divrotequatto0 you are in the minority if you think the FW16 Senna was driving was not incredibly difficult to handle...it killed him! They improved it later in the season, so don't say it was the same car Hill was driving - the car had serious glitches that even Patrick Head and Adrian Newey have acknowledged. And Schumacher admits Senna was a better driver (he idolized him) - but you're entitled to your opinion, as am I.
@Crescviper Umm...have you ever seen Senna drive, he was much better than Schumy. Yes he won 7 championships but with the best car by miles. Plus in this video Senna had the shitty Williams that killed him.
@Hobo886 For me Schumacher is much better than Senna (here Senna had the shitty williams...but here Schumacher had the shitty benetton...and was also inexperted...)
@Crescviper HAHAHA, "Schumaher had the shitty benetton" - you stupid twat, that car was the best on the whole grid in 1994... go and learn some stuff about F1 and your cheating idol. :/
@Crescviper Senna - 10 years of racing, Schumacher - 15 + 2... enough said. And one piece of advice: don't say to anyone, EVER, that Benetton in 1994 was a shitty car, because you'll embarrass yourself, dude. o.O Again you've proved to me that you're nothing but schumacher's fanboy. DIE, cunt.
@Crescviper Your math rulez! Dude, let's say that Senna would've had only 6 WDC, but this means THOSE TITLES would go to Senna, not MSC = Senna 6 WDC, MSC 4. You wanna go even further? Be my guest. MSC said that Senna would've been WDC if he didn't die, and gave away his first WDC title to Senna. Still want to have a go? We don't know how it would be, but your retarded statistics having MSC as a 7th WC exclude best driver ever - Senna. "Shitty Benetton in 1994" - that solely says all about you.
@Hobo886 It pisses me off so much when people say "oh, schumacher had a much better car than everyone else, and it was down to the car and not michael". Michael worked with Ferrari for 4 years to get a good car, 4 years! Michael may have had the better car than anyone else, but he worked for it, and he made it the best car out there. Do you think it comes down to luck who has the best car every year? No. For me, Michael is by far the best driver ever.
Are you talking about the same guy that is getting smashed by Rosberg? Bad observation Crescviper. Name me one driver who smashed Ayrton Senna? NONE! Ayrton the Greatest. FULL STOP!
@flpa100 Smashed? Michael, the same guy who had 3 times as many things go wrong for him this year? And he's obviously not at his best anymore, he's 42. We're talking about the michael from 10 years ago mate.
@flpa100 Hei Listen here!!! Schumacher now has 43 years...and a shitty car that he don't like and dont fit with he...Rosberg is too young and in the FULL of his career...
Here who made a bad observation are only YOU!!!...
P.S. Schumacher is the greatest...and you can't deny this because seven is better than three ;)
@alexrtt201219992 Did mansell raced in the same car as Senna? Did Schumacher? Only Prost, but that's why Prost vs Senna had best duels in the whole history. And yet @flpa100 says about being "smashed" by a team mate - this means the very same car... your "mansell" and "schumacher" as an answers to that are fails.
To bad they're not driving in the same era! Because if they did Senna would own Schumacher so damn much!!!! Put Senna in a modern day F1 car! He would've driven faster with one lag and one arm!!!
the answer is easy: Schumacher's Benetton was CHEATING - it had retained the illegal traction control and had no fuel filter, allowing it to to make refueling stops that were on average a second shorter. Everyone was blown away by the fact that the "shoemaker" was beating the greatest ever, Senna (and Schumi's idol, by the way). And I neglected to mention that Senna's FW16 was a piece of crap car, so that had a lot to do with it too, now didn't it? SENNA = GREATEST F1 DRIVER EVER. THE END.
That Williams wasn't a "piece of crap". That car was fast enough to put an average driver like Hill to the second row in the grid. The car was not so superior like 93, but very fast. Schumacher was simply a great driver and handled the tricky cars in the post-active-suspension-era best.
@divrotequalto0 That's right. In addition, the Williams was powered by the world champion v10 Renault engine, which was clearly better than Schumacher's v8 Ford.
It was an advantage especially at high-speed tracks like at Imola, Silverstone, Monza.

Michael's Benneton was much better built , thats why he conquered the Formula1 after Senna's death.

some people want to be mistaken.
Traction control was never discovered. Never in the Beneton.
Only launch control (in "OFF" mode). how was Schumacher so bad in many starts in 1994 then? I tell you, he had no illegal electronic device.
Schumacher was quicker than Senna because he was better in a not better car.
Remember, Beneton had not any Traction control
I will repeat it again: Beneton had not any Traction control
Any.

@apj5454 drivers like senna and schummi would race a ilegal car and close the gap, or make it far more dificult to the ilegal car to get ahead, out of pure TALENT. just like senna in this video... remember; benneton was run by the greatest cheater in f1 history; flavio briatore. schummi car was rigged, at least, it had launch control, no question about it.
davifernandeslima01 1 week ago
@davifernandeslima01 I'm not quite sure what your point is there but i'm certain that there was no traction control on the B194. But yea, teams always push the boundaries of the rules.
apj5454 5 days ago
@apj5454 my point is that great drivers close the gap even with uneven cars :D benneton had been investigated for having TC on the season's end... they found it "off", but not deactivated or missing like the rest of the grid; it could be turned on with a laptop back then...looking all the footage available, i think tc was on at some starts. and yeah, totally agree. like piquet with a water-cooled brakes brabham car, and all chapman's or briatori crazy stuf.... :D

i don't think schumacher was as fast on a lap as senna was but he made up for it in other ways. Also I think schumacher would have had MANY more pole positions if refueling hadn't been reintroduced in 1994
ThreeLiterV10 3 weeks ago
@ThreeLiterV10 What has pole position to do with refueling? As for the "other ways" you mention that he used in 1994 - it was illegal TC and illegal non-filtered fueling rig. :)
hristoitchov 2 weeks ago
@hristoitchov ferrari often ran with higher fuel than other teams in qualifying, which compromised their q times for race strategy. they both had their fair share of wrongdoings and people form their own opinions about any person. one thing we can agree on is they will both always be remembered as the all time greats
ThreeLiterV10 2 weeks ago
@ThreeLiterV10 Ferrari? Schumacher was in Benetton back then, so Ferrari has nothing to do with it. Besides, why would they run more fuel in Qualifying? There was no such requirement to do so, everyone simply ran with just enough fuel for 1-2 flying laps. Your comment that he would have gotten more pole positions if there was no refueling just makes no sense. Do you perhaps mean more pole positions throughout his whole career?
hristoitchov 2 weeks ago
@hristoitchov my comment refers to how they did not run on minimum fuel, at least in the 2000s. for instance in 2004 the ferrari was the fastest car, but it didn't always get pole position because at that time you were not allowed to refuel in between qualifying and the race. this meant that some teams would run higher fuel in qualifying so that they wouldn't have to stop as early and would be more successful in the race. So in short it wasn't completely about who was the fastest

And Bellof was faster than Senna in inferior car.
Probably, Best drivers in wet ever, Schumacher and Stefan Bellof.

But here, Schumacher is better than Senna, and people says is because the car.
That is bad loser arguments.
Only mediocrity needs excuses.
Sadly, some Senna fans have lots of excuses.
Even Senna, when losing a race, was looking for more and more excuses, and that is sad being a champion.
Schumacher is better than Senna, no excuses.
Senna´s fans says in wet cars are more similar. Well, Schumacher being a boy destroyed Senna in Barcelona 92 in wet.
Schumacher simply the best
hunt2727 3 weeks ago
When Senna is doing great nobody of his fans says "that was because the car was good".
They could say that in Donington 93, for example. Senna is doing great but that Mclaren was the best car in wet that day. Even Mich Andretti in that Mclaren overtook ... Schumacher!! And by the outside track!! That was a joke. And Andretti was the quicker driver after Senna in first lap. Of course before crashing, so bad driver Andretti was...
But the Mclaren was superb.
but no one tells that...

Come on. lets be honest here, we all know that Benetton had more technology in it than a fucking NASA space craft. i am not disputing the fact that Schumacher was an amazing driver, all im saying is in that particular season that one car was very different from the rest, even the benetton's of his team mates. and if what had happend in imola had not happened, schumacher may well have only had 5 (or less) titles to his name and we would be looking at 4 (or more) for senna.

cjsnowdon 1 month ago
The Benneton car was proven to have hidden banned electronic aid features such as traction control. It was activated with a very complex series of button push's. It was discovered by the FIA mid season, but they could never prove one / or both of the drivers ever used it. If you saw the way Schumi got that car off the line, you can be pretty confident in the fact he used it!! Why the FIA didn't ban the car knowing it had this feature, or even make sure they took it off the car is a mystery.

Schumacher had to do the same. In 1999 at Sepang (Malaysia) when he made his comeback after he had broken his leg at Silverstone.

SebbyHaughtonf1 3 weeks ago
@SebbyHaughtonf1 In 2005 all of the major teams switched to Michelin tyres, and Ferrari was alone with Bridgestone. Thus the Italians couldn't get enough informations about the tyres what resulted a decline for the reds in that season.
In 2006 Toyota and Williams also "joined" Bridgestone, what helped Ferrari to be competitive again.

Hungary599 2 months ago
@TheLemmiwink5 His pace was amazing, considering how Verstappen was struggling in the same car.
But the same goes for lehto and Herbert as well, they were also driving that 1994 Benetton-Ford without minimal success.

TheLemmiwink5 2 months ago
that car won williams a number of championships before ayrton got into it because they where the first team to have computerised suspension. they had the car built around thier drivers. When senna came into the team, the car was in no way tailored for him and had to start the season with a car that was in no way shape or form able to support the full ability of ayrtons driving style.
TheLemmiwink5 2 months ago
@TheLemmiwink5 Williams nr.2 driver Damon Hill was victorious 6 (!) times driving that Williams-Renault in 1994.

Hungary599 2 months ago
@TheLemmiwink5 actually, the 94 season was the first season without driver aids, none of the cars on the grid had fancy suspension, nor launch control or traction control, and senna had serious problems getting adapted to the car, but it would have been the same for everybody who employed those aids in the past.

@spc1980ro it is the opposite mclaren was competitive only because had honda engine but the car was very unbalanced and still with semi manual gearbox..In Willians he was adjusting to drive a car with much more eletronics and shift paddles. @zorkytotal
wrong! in 93 everybody thought mclaren went down, and the main reason was the engine, at least that was the general opinion. for your information, mclaren had, what people thought, a very good traction control system. it was the williams that lost balance after the ban, and senna found it very hard to control, as it had many a times an under-steering character, and over-steering in the same corner.

about benetton, well, you´re wrong again. the code was there, but to engage it required quite a complicated sequence before the start and a computer, all of this nullified by the fact that there was a formation lap. another correction is necessary: the system in question was the launch control, not the traction control. about the fuel rig, if you investigate little bit, you will find out that all but 4 teams used the same rig, in the same configuration.
spc1980ro 1 month ago
@spc1980ro i have not spoken to find or suppositions for this or that, like you did. facts are proven everyone saw and everyone knows. Mclaren never had traction control only a sketch of what would be. Willians car has awalys been much more technical and advanced all the 80's and most of 90 years. 94 season was a disaster with scandals and benetton cheating, Briatore was banned from F1
zorkytotal 1 month ago
@zorkytotal
well, going with the flock is always easier than having a mind of your own. briatore was banned from f1 in 2009. late 80´s mclaren was the superior team, early 90´s were the years of williams. benetton came out of nowhere, and people like you assumed they were cheating. from assuming to assuring is a long way. to be honest, i think you´re talking rubbish, and it appears to me that you have no clue about the events
spc1980ro 1 month ago
@spc1980ro it's funny because i think the same thing about you. I had the pleasure of watching F1 80's and early 90's i know how the historty has been done. Never trust in Briatore he work as an pilots agent (Alonso,Schumacher, Trulli, Button,Webber, Kovalaine ...) and in 94 he showed that was able to cheat to valuate their pilots, but now the mask fell
zorkytotal 1 month ago
@zorkytotal Schumacher´s agent is not Briatore, is Willy Weber. i had the pleasure of watching some of the 80´s (well, recordings), but many of the 90´s i saw them live. on top of that, i took an interest not only in the results but in the way they were delivered, and tried to inform myself from serious, unbiased sources (media, press releases...). yes, briatore is not famous for being fair. Schumacher was effectively banned from 4 races in 94, and still won the WDC

@spc1980ro
...And not forget that Michael took 8 av 16 of fastest laps that season.
Hill & Coulthard the other half ;)
hlidskjalf666 1 month ago
@hlidskjalf666
yes, and coulthard and hill were both very good drivers and this makes it even more impressive. also, for most of the 90´s williams was widely seen as the best car on the grid

Senna: The BEST !!!!!
GabrielArapiraca 2 months ago
Senna, in 1984 was with a uncompetitive car, he qualify at 13th and on the lap 19 he overtakes Niki Lauda(2nd) after Prost cheat and ask to end the race he end when Senna overtakes him. Like at Donnington Park, the people say that cant overtaqke there, Senna proves that was a lie
GabrielArapiraca 2 months ago
@GabrielArapiraca Great performance from Senna, no question about that.
Overtaking is tough, but yet isn't impossible in Monaco. Schumacher has also proved that, when he fought his way back to 5th position in 2006, after being penalized, he had to start from the back of the grid (as 22nd) because of his qualifying incident.
Hungary599 2 months ago
@Hungary599 but the problem is that Senna start with competitive cars in front of him, Schumacher after being penalized overtakes guys with uncompetitive cars.
GabrielArapiraca 2 months ago
@Hungary599 so you can say for sure that if Prost hadn't deliberately turned early into Senna and then had Balestre wrongly disqualify Senna (thus ruining his chance at the title) at Suzuka, Senna definitely wouldn't have won the title? How the hell do you know? Can you see some sort of parallel universe that the rest of us can't perceive? You obviously have it out for Senna. He was the best - he didn't have to cheat and whine to officials like Schumi and Prost, who you vehemently defend.
22astonmartin 2 months ago
@22astonmartin In Suzuka overtaking is very difficult. Witt equal cars (Prost v Senna in McLaren Honda) it's (almost) impossible.
This wasn't the race, where Senna lost all championship hopes. In 1989 Senna could only finish 9 races. It was 4 less what Prost was capable of. Senna was obviously faster than Prost in that year, but he wasn't concentrating on the championship, he wasn't mature enough comparing to Prost, who was an experienced "old fox."...
Hungary599 2 months ago
@22astonmartin ...For example at Monza in 1989, Senna was leading Prost by a huge margin, but he yet didn't reduce his pace and his Honda engine blew up just some laps before the finish.Prost won eventually.
So,in that single race Senna lost 12 vital points, and that cost him the title.
It doesn't matter how good you're, if you can't finish races, if you don't collect enough points what are enough to be world champion. It was a tough lecture for Senna, he later learned from it.

The fact a Driver like Hill could Compete with Schumacher in '94 proves the Williams was faster.

Shame!
tmmphono 2 months ago
@Crescviper your math means nothing because a) Senna was cheated out of the WDC in '89 due to F1 favoritism/politics + b) he would have also won the WDC in '93 if Prost had not blocked him from Williams, something Prost admitted + c) MS was cheating in '94, so his wins mean nothing + d) MS raced for a dominant team with practically no competition for years (had Senna not been killed, he would have won some of MS's titles) = SENNA DESERVED 5 TITLES BEFORE HE DIED & 7+ HAD HE LIVED = KING OF F1.
22astonmartin 2 months ago
@22astonmartin What are you talking about ??
The only reason, why Senna "lost" the title in 1989 was that, that he often overworked his McLaren. That's why he retired many times in that season, losing valuable points. He wanted to lap Prost, he wanted to '"humiliate" his opponents.
He only began to realize how important to finish races later. In 1991 He drove with much more patience, much more care. The result : he became world champion in an inferior car.
Hungary599 2 months ago
Check out Fangio`s career and stactics, every driver that raced against him will tell you he was the best driver in history. Also Senna and Clark are in that league, but Schumager? what has he shown in his carrer? cheating mostly. He is very fast, but thats it. Schumager, Bernie and Ferrari cheated. It was evident that F1 needed a new hero after Senna left us, and what better team to do it than Ferrari. The perfect business. Open your eyes people. Profesional sports are getting worst and worst.
lucass81 2 months ago
@lucass81 You seem to forget the fact, that Schumacher impressed in his 1st full season in F1 (in 1992 - finishing 3rd) beating the more experienced, world champion Senna (finishing 4th).
What a remarkable achievement.
Hungary599 2 months ago
SENNA driving in 1st with that shitty Williams proves that he was much better than the cheater Schumacher (with the electronics aids!!) B194 was the best car of '94 (look at the video, even Jos was pressuring on Senna). Even so the only way to Shumy overtakes Senna was in the pitstop - otherwise he would NEVER overtake him. The FW16 sucks - the big deal of Williams FW14 and FW15 of Mansell and Prost, was the active suspension and electronics. Without it the Williams was uncontrollable, dangerous
tmmphono 2 months ago
@tmmphono Schumacher's team mate Jos Verstappen was already a lap down after the 1st pit stops.
Although he had the same equipment as Schumacher had.

@tmmphono Williams was only the Best in 1992 and 1993 ?
After MS left Benetton, Williams began to dominate all over again. It's obvious, that his person made the difference.
Just like in 1991, when Senna was able to clinch the title with that inferior McLaren-Honda.
Hungary599 2 months ago
@tmmphono Jos was a lap down on lighter fuel!!!!! Senna had just tanked up. B194 was deffo not the best car!

ScottsMetroid 2 months ago
I don't give a flying fuck about MSC nowadays, but then he was simply cheating. The whole Benetton team was cheating, and that's too obvious to even debate about it.

Scumi's team was cheating.

@flpa100 Name me one driver in modern F1 era, who could be successful even over 40.
Schumacher was brave enough to meet the challenge, and he is not far behind Rosberg.
Hungary599 2 months ago
@divrotequatto0 you are in the minority if you think the FW16 Senna was driving was not incredibly difficult to handle...it killed him! They improved it later in the season, so don't say it was the same car Hill was driving - the car had serious glitches that even Patrick Head and Adrian Newey have acknowledged. And Schumacher admits Senna was a better driver (he idolized him) - but you're entitled to your opinion, as am I.
22astonmartin 2 months ago
Schumy the best...nothing else to say :D
Crescviper 2 months ago
@Crescviper Umm...have you ever seen Senna drive, he was much better than Schumy. Yes he won 7 championships but with the best car by miles. Plus in this video Senna had the shitty Williams that killed him.
Hobo886 2 months ago
@Hobo886 For me Schumacher is much better than Senna (here Senna had the shitty williams...but here Schumacher had the shitty benetton...and was also inexperted...)
However is only my opinion :)
Crescviper 2 months ago
@Crescviper HAHAHA, "Schumaher had the shitty benetton" - you stupid twat, that car was the best on the whole grid in 1994... go and learn some stuff about F1 and your cheating idol. :/

@thylegion Stop!!! Seven is better than three...end of discussion
Crescviper 2 months ago
@Crescviper Senna - 10 years of racing, Schumacher - 15 + 2... enough said. And one piece of advice: don't say to anyone, EVER, that Benetton in 1994 was a shitty car, because you'll embarrass yourself, dude. o.O Again you've proved to me that you're nothing but schumacher's fanboy. DIE, cunt.
thylegion 2 months ago
@thylegion Ok...Senna in 10 years had 3 WDC...so in 20 years must have 6 WDC
Senna 20 years = 6 WDC
Schumacher 17 years = 7 WDC
:)
Crescviper 2 months ago
@Crescviper Your math rulez! Dude, let's say that Senna would've had only 6 WDC, but this means THOSE TITLES would go to Senna, not MSC = Senna 6 WDC, MSC 4. You wanna go even further? Be my guest. MSC said that Senna would've been WDC if he didn't die, and gave away his first WDC title to Senna. Still want to have a go? We don't know how it would be, but your retarded statistics having MSC as a 7th WC exclude best driver ever - Senna. "Shitty Benetton in 1994" - that solely says all about you.
thylegion 2 months ago

@thylegion No...the titles that would win Senna for me are the 1996-1997-1998 xD
So
Senna 20 years = 6 WDC
Schumacher 17 years = 7 WDC
xD

@Hobo886 It pisses me off so much when people say "oh, schumacher had a much better car than everyone else, and it was down to the car and not michael". Michael worked with Ferrari for 4 years to get a good car, 4 years! Michael may have had the better car than anyone else, but he worked for it, and he made it the best car out there. Do you think it comes down to luck who has the best car every year? No. For me, Michael is by far the best driver ever.

flpa100 2 months ago
@flpa100 Smashed? Michael, the same guy who had 3 times as many things go wrong for him this year? And he's obviously not at his best anymore, he's 42. We're talking about the michael from 10 years ago mate.
Shumacher5 2 months ago
@flpa100 Hei Listen here!!! Schumacher now has 43 years...and a shitty car that he don't like and dont fit with he...Rosberg is too young and in the FULL of his career...
Here who made a bad observation are only YOU!!!...
P.S. Schumacher is the greatest...and you can't deny this because seven is better than three ;)

@flpa100 schumacher, prost, mansell, ;)
alexrtt201219992 2 months ago
@alexrtt201219992 Did mansell raced in the same car as Senna? Did Schumacher? Only Prost, but that's why Prost vs Senna had best duels in the whole history. And yet @flpa100 says about being "smashed" by a team mate - this means the very same car... your "mansell" and "schumacher" as an answers to that are fails.
thylegion 2 months ago
To bad they're not driving in the same era! Because if they did Senna would own Schumacher so damn much!!!! Put Senna in a modern day F1 car! He would've driven faster with one lag and one arm!!!
SuperCarsInNorway 2 months ago
easy answer: ANTISPIN!!!
pisomark 2 months ago
the answer is easy: Schumacher's Benetton was CHEATING - it had retained the illegal traction control and had no fuel filter, allowing it to to make refueling stops that were on average a second shorter. THE END.
22astonmartin 2 months ago 7
@22astonmartin yea no dout ! have you seen the footage from the french grandprix ? schumacher clearly has launch control which was banned in 94
vibeackermann 2 months ago
@22astonmartin
That Williams wasn't a "piece of crap". That car was fast enough to put an average driver like Hill to the second row in the grid. The car was not so superior like 93, but very fast. Schumacher was simply a great driver and handled the tricky cars in the post-active-suspension-era best.
divrotequalto0 2 months ago
@divrotequalto0 That's right. In addition, the Williams was powered by the world champion v10 Renault engine, which was clearly better than Schumacher's v8 Ford.
It was an advantage especially at high-speed tracks like at Imola, Silverstone, Monza.
