He still has that good tone. He is perhaps a bit hoarse here and has lost a little power at the top of his range so he's clipping certain notes. Still a very potent singer.
it's a shame some of these singers get so addicted to drugs, luckily Negron came out of it alive. Some singers however were able to handle their drugs-I truly believe some people have an addiction gene where they simply can't stop. I also believe that some types of drugs can enhance experiences-look at all the people on anti depressants, back then illegal drugs were anti depressants. Good luck to Negron, still sounds just as good as he used to.
@angels4bobseger The same question I asked about Creedence Clearwater Revisited with Doug Clifford and Stu Cook without John Fogerty. Sure Tom Fogerty and TDN's original member Joe Schermie are both dead now but that should not hold back both John Fogerty and Chuck Negron from rejoining CCR and Three Dog Night for a brief short reunion concert. Even Chicago and Peter Cetera along with Drummer Danny Seraphine on both sides need to mend their long time bitter differences.
Great performance ... I see comments on here that say otherwise... do you actually think anyone wants to sound "just like a recording" when signing live? c'mon ... this was GREAT!!!!! and why compare Chuck to Cory or anyone? He's Chuck!
He's got a smokin' guitar player, but I do wish he'd stop cutting things off and doing that with his voice. I really also thought his voice was shot.
I just watched him do Eli's Coming, and he was acting like he couldn't even hit the high notes he did so effortlessly in the 60's and 70's. It's a cryin' shame. If you got it, Chuck, let it out, for God's sake! Your voice is unbeatable! Fantastic! Let it show!
Chuck sounds great. However, the sum of the parts is greater than each individually. I will say that Chuck Negron is the only one that could perform the songs by himself. Cory is good, but.......
No sustain and the vocal vampings that made "One" a such a high energy and passion filled tune, just aren't there without Cory or Danny. Too bad they coulcn't work things out. Together The 3 Dog Night was awesome, 1 Dog Night just ain't quite the same.
I wish they would reunite Chuck u are still great! Still the best looking of all! I am going to draw off the Movie "Pretty Woman" To Cory...Danny Not getting back together is a "Big Mistake" "Big" I think concerts all over would be SOLD OUT!
Sorry, but Cory is the front man period! Check out "Try A Little Tenderness" and see who the voice and performer of the group is....make no mistake. No matter what the trouble with the members was, you can't ignore the talent.
I wonder why Danny and Cory will not reunite with him so we, the fans, can see them all together again.. I would love to see this happen roxinger and I know you would to from your post! Who knows maybe Chuck does not want it to happen for unknown reasons. I think chuck seems like a humble man so it must have to do with the other guys. That makes me really sad and I'm not a fan of Danny or Cory anymore! They are nothing without Chuck anyway! God Bless You. smile
I saw him perform this summer and got to meet him afterwards. It's amazing that given his challenges that he looks and sounds as good as he does. He has a nice spirit and is very friendly as well.
Excellent work for someone who's been through what he's been through. He looks & sounds better than ever, & it would be nice if Danny & Cory would agree to reunite with Chuck. It probably won't happen, though. Anyway ,thanks for sharing!
It's hard to believe Chuck was a junkie for so long. He's looking healthy, His voice sounds great. The other 2 Dogs look old and gray compared to chuck. I'm so glad he is doing well these days.
Looks damn good for 62. In fact he looks better now than he did in 1970, IMHO.

@1onlyphil Agree...and he was 62 here. No one's gonna sound exactly the same as they did 30+ years earlier. I say he's still got it!!

his voice is shot. or is he doing that on purpose?
WilliamdCohen 6 months ago 7
@WilliamdCohen On purpose then. I saw him in 2007 and his voice is as good as it was in the 70's. Better than his other two estranged band mates.....

@pken50 YESSs Cory is the front man TDN , the most versatile . Chuck and Danny are great vocalists too , but Cory is the man . LOVE him.

No doubt about it. Chuck still has it, The face and the voice of Three Dog Night.
