Great game, the only thing IMHO that held it from true greatness was the bland level design. Warehouses and rooftops with grey walls got pretty boring.
Where F.E.A.R. 3 was an improvement over the second game, was the actual combat - the sped it up again - much more to the speed of F.E.A.R. where as Project Origin was fairly sluggish. Both sequels lacked the atmosphere of the original though, and the scares. What made F.E.A.R. so good was its believability and realism with supernatural aspects, in this regard, the sequels are kinda cartoonish. Anyways, still love this intro.

the problem on fear 2 and 3 was..wehre the fuck was the horror?, this fear was like 60% horror 40% action..the rest was pure action, of course the 2nd one has some scary scenes..but not a scary like the first 1, and the 3rd one...well its like they said "screw the horror"

In FEAR2 they say the point-man "the new Adam" "a god amongst humans" is just an obsolete clone, it has little to do with the first game and it doesn't really tell anything new.

Hell, the city burning implies that she has a very strong urge (and capability) to continue exacting revenge. All in all, I liked all of them - but FEAR:EP had a very weak ending IMHO..
F.E.A.R is a very good game and I love the intro it is so awesome and dramatic. The game has a very well thought out storyline. Thanks for the upload :)

If you thought FEAR 2 was bad or that it didn't fit the universe then you should see FEAR 3... You will team up with Paxton Fettel (The guy you spent the entire first game finding and killing) fighting an army of ATC soldiers (since Replica soldiers will for whatever reason not return or make any sort of appearance despite the fact that they where the main enemies in all games in the series and that there are thousands left out there) in a very Halo-esque kind of campaign.

if you play the game, you notice the people he eats(hes not really eating hes "sampling") appear as apparitions later in the game. He eats them so he can use their essence combined with telekinetic powers to influence the main character.

One of the best intros ever, simple as. The music, the visuals, the sound effects. Its all so perfect and sets the mood for the game. To this day one of my favourite shooters.
There is no question, shooters on consoles have a much slower pace. And in crossplatform games such as Shadowrun, the consoleros only stand a chance beacuse the game grants them autoaiming.
back to topic - Fear opening: it brings you in the perfect mood for a great game^^

@ZombieSpyTangerine Agreed, I play with both headphones and volume next to maximum (yeah, my poor eardrums =|). Extraction Point scared me shitless in some sequences (teh nurse, oh God teh nurse, who played the game will understand).
This game was beautifully terrifying. What made the game so damn scary was the human quality to what was happening. The fight was between Alma and the branch of government that ruined her life as well as her childrens. And for you (the player not the point man) were hopelessly stuck in-between figuring out who was the lesser of evils.
WTF. F.E.A.R./the US military is innocent. The real villains were Armacham, the corporation that created all the super-powered psychos in the series, and Alma, the main victim of ATC.

One of the best intros ever, simple as. The music, the visuals, the sound effects. Its all so perfect and sets the mood for the game. To this day one of my favourite shooters.

There is no question, shooters on consoles have a much slower pace. And in crossplatform games such as Shadowrun, the consoleros only stand a chance beacuse the game grants them autoaiming.

haha.. Ego shooters on Xbox360 or PS3 sucks so much... ego shooters u better play on PC because the aiming is better and u have a better athmosphere. u've ever played F.E.A.R. on PC and then on a console? it's so differently. on the Xbox i wasn't scared to play this because i sit 3 Meters from the TV. but on the PC u fell like that u are in the Game. but ok.. everybody has got another opinion ;) and thats ok. But for me is the PC Edition better :P

@ZombieSpyTangerine Agreed, I play with both headphones and volume next to maximum (yeah, my poor eardrums =|). Extraction Point scared me shitless in some sequences (teh nurse, oh God teh nurse, who played the game will understand).

i found myself feeling sorry for alma and that other guy, once i had processed everything that had happened.

This game was beautifully terrifying. What made the game so damn scary was the human quality to what was happening. The fight was between Alma and the branch of government that ruined her life as well as her childrens. And for you (the player not the point man) were hopelessly stuck in-between figuring out who was the lesser of evils.

WTF. F.E.A.R./the US military is innocent. The real villains were Armacham, the corporation that created all the super-powered psychos in the series, and Alma, the main victim of ATC.
