  • now that is a fuckin intro.

  • This brings back memories of a time when cartoons were badass.. Even if they were blatant animated toy adverts like this, they were still ten times better than the tripe kids watch today. Somewhere along the line tv executives sucked all the violence and subtle crudity out of childrens' television. Nearly every new cartoon either has a moronic plot, bland characters, or looks like a flash animation!

  • I remember this. I had a Mighty Max pocket toy thingy

  • My old neighbors used to have the action figures and sets.....might max is so tiny compared to the cartoon!!! Loved the guy who did the deep voice!!!

  • Why isn't this avail. on netflix! lol

  • MAKE A MOVIE. NOW!

    Like a boss.

  • Norman was so cool.

  • Now this was an awesome cartoon. I have almost all of the Mighty Max toys and will keep them for DECADES!

  • i remember this show

  • OMG!! I'm geeking out!

  • This show was my all time fav. I remember enjoying my vacation watching this back in the day :')

  • This cartoon was uber-badass, even for today's standards.

  • @Desolator84 But what am I saying? Today's standards? Cartoons have degraded since then.

  • @Desolator84 definetly agree, they wouldnt allow the themese in this cartoon to ever be shown to children

  • @Desolator84 And today's cartoons have poor animation and terrible writing (with the exception of a few).

  • @AngryDragon22 Like which few?

  • METAAAAAALLLLLLLL

  • Virgils not a chicken, he's a fowl.

  • Who remembers the toys for this show? They were like little environments with little figures

  • @ImSeeFly still got all mine

  • You bet your ass I still have my Mighty Max toys in a box.

  • @sortedevaras lucky u , i miss them soo badly after my mum through them away when i was small. wish i still had stuff from the 80's & 90's :(

  • They just don't make cartoons like this anymore, do they?

  • @AyakoAki nope they dont, kids these days play video games and watch jersey shore they grow up faster with bigger mouths, they will never know what it truly means to be a kid.

But i do not understand why quality cartoons are not made anymore.... everything that they do show to kids are half ass remakes with no effort put into them or live shows about relationships etc... Thats why the 90's were considered the golden age for cartoons. i was born in 86 grew up in 90's i loved it :).

  • @Baseshocks the 90s rocked. To be fair, not all modern cartoons are bad, some I totally would have watched as a kid (and have as a adult, born '88). How difficult could it be to show old cartoons from the 90s again? Truly?

  • @AyakoAki I was born in November of '88 and I miss the cartoons of the 90's with a passion. Everytime I watch opening themes to cartoons from that decade, I almost want to cry at how awesome they were back in the day. Kids these days are so easy to impress.

  • @StarkEspada1 Born Oct. 86' and Dude, I feel the same way. All I can say is, don't let time and space come between you and favorite cartoons, find torrents or bootlegged dvds. Do whatever you have to do. There is no greater feeling than re-watching a show, that you haven't seen for like 15 years, and feeling the same way about it as you did then...which proves it was a good show. I nearly pissed myself when I saw Double Dragon on DVD and found Street Sharks on Netflix yesterday.

  • @thetrophyone same feeling i got, when i re watched big bad beetleborgs, biker mice from mars. Ninja turtles and double dragon and the mask/Freakazoid.. man good times but im a 90's man

  • @playadelrey100 Totally. Part of me still wishes we lived in the b4 times...when there was no internet, no cell phones, no twitter or facebook, and you had to interact with people to get somewhere. Sure, the technology can make life pretty sweet, but I feel we are living in a bubble where everything is totally sanitized for our protection. Everything, WWE, TV, etc., tries not to rock the boat and be as bland as possible to appeal to almost everyone and it just ends up being lame.

  • @thetrophyone haha i hear ya, i dn't really relate to ppl my age too often, they watch crap, act like idiots. common sense out the window etc. im stuck in the past but i aint complainin. rather b there then here you know.

  • @playadelrey100 Ah, yes I do know. Loved my childhood, but this isn't the future I was taught about. The go to work and work hard mumbo jumbo falls short now because prices are too high and high paying jobs are about as abundant as living dinosaurs.

  • @thetrophyone man, i feel your pain. back then i didn't know life was gonna be like this.

  • Virgil was a gangsta... Damn i,miss my childhood... 1984 kid here..

  • Damn this is show that deserves a live-action movie franchise.

  • it warms my heart to see 900k+ views.

  • To this day Mighty Max was one of my favorite cartoons, the ending of the series ranks as one of the saddest of any I've ever seen. Norman and Virgil's "death" and how the series ends was fantastic.

  • Mighty Max Movie

    Max - Dakota Goyo

    Norman - Ray Stevenson

    Virgil - Ian Holm

Skullmaster - ?? (someone help me out with this one)

  • @Ruthlesseclipse Tim Curry played Skullmaster.

  • @Ruthlesseclipse Probably Tim Curry again, he plays weirdo characters like that in real life :D

  • @LarryBundyJr skullmaster-vin diesel

  • @Ruthlesseclipse skullmaster-Vin Diesel

  • Oh 1990s, won't you come back some day?

  • OMG REALLY these where cartoons not the crap they got now i used to watch this show

  • I find it funny how Max is so "Mighty" but in the intro he's running away from everything lol... anyway... MIGHTY MAX ROCKS!

  • this show had fantasy and si-fi all ito one. fucking great stuff back them. unlike now

  • bill and ted + johnny quest = might max

  • max and norman fucking rule

  • You aint never lied... True 90's childhood indeed. Right up there with Bobby's world, Duck tales, etc...lol

  • shit i remember watchin this every morning in the truck on the way to skol. like every single morning! ooh these wer good times. the world was simpler then. anybody that watched shows lik these had true 90s childhoods

  • OMG I had all characters/monsters of this intro !

  • "i eat spiders for breakfast" anyone remember that line

  • we had cartoons back in the day !

even the intro musi was joyable not annoying like now days !

    memorys!

  • Omg! i totally forgot about this cartoon! :O

  • omg i remember this show!

  • The voice was robert paulson.....

  • OMG, I remember this show. I used to watch this show al the time after school when I was a child. I remember the 10, 000 year-old chicken, the muscular guy, all those characters. Those were the days, man. I miss those days so much!

  • they can get people to play as the friends of max and they can get the guy that played billy loomer in ned's declassified

  • What an amazing show. I remember watching this all the time! :D

Now, what would happen if Mighty Max said Candle Jack and ran it a vortex? Would Can---

  • Devon Werkheiser,Lindsey Shaw, and Daran Norris for mighty max movie

  • holy crap why are 90's cartoons so awesome!!!

  • WHAT DO THEY CALL YOU NOW THUNDERER?...LITTLE JOHN, .........NO! THEY CALL ME (LIGHTING IN THE BACKGROUND FOR SPECIAL effect) NORMAN!

(btw memory..norman does hate spiders, i think i remember every show)

  • WHAT DO THEY CALL YOU NOW THUNDERER?...LITTLE JOHN, .........NO! THEY CALL ME (LIGHTING IN THE BACKGROUND FOR SPECIAL effect) NORMAN!

  • I remember this show!

  • this was an awesome show

  • Bad ass. The 90's where awesome for cartoons. Today's stuff is just garbage.

  • This show was short but so addictive.

  • The best and most epic show ever when i was about 6 years old

  • STILL my fav. cartoon lol

  • Ash Ketchum's hat ain't got shit on Mighty Max's hat

  • Lets be honest wasnt this just a rip off of polly pocket lol

  • @spakasam No, it was a toyline released at the same time. Polly Pocket for girls, Might Max for boys. This was better.

  • Now THIS was a GREAT cartoon show! Action, Adventure, Fantasy, and not only that but while it kept the interest of children who watched it, it also gave them good and interesting facts about many different areas of the world, in other worlds, this was a show that was TEACHING children while it was entertaining them. Truly sad how far we've fallen since the 80's and 90's.

  • Im not a chicken im a fowl haha..

  • I watched this EVERY morning before i caught the bus. . sad part is. . i had to leave and catch the bus 10 mins before the show ended so i missed the ending all the time. . . lol. . classic show here. . . Golden if u were a 80s baby and watched this when going to school in the morning(early 90s)

  • This is the first show that introduced me to the looping ending idea, when I was a kid, it pissed me off since it wasn't definitive, but now I understand the awesomeness of it, even seeing go crazy like in the Sands of Time trilogy.

  • I used to watch this before going to school every morning! I was sooo mad when it was over after eating breakfast.. cuz that meant I had to go to school lol I didnt mind waking up in the morning for MIGHTY MAX!

  • ah memories....

  • YES!!!! hahaha :)

  • Oh yeah....Dig that heavy synth guitar and drumline. Pure Cory Lerios.

  • lol we are old....

  • @tigerjonn Sadly we are lmao

  • i miss this show XD

  • great cartoon. terrible toys...

  • The only scene I remember from that show was when the warp portal was in the women's washroom at his school :D

  • You know you're old when you remember Mighty Max.

XD God I loved the cartoon.

  • this show was pretty depressing by the end...

  • The 90's was the era when u saw cartoons like these and u said: DONT MESS WITH ME. in the nowadays: i.m gonna tell my mom

  • Found my old Mighty Max Mountain thing I had when I was a kid and just had to look it up. Classic!

  • Such a great show! They don't have shows like this anymore. I remember watching this show so many times. And never missed an episode.

  • This show both baffled me and freaked my shit when I was like six years old.

  • This was definitely top 3 in the 90's behind Xmen and Batman:TAS as far as cartoons. God I used to love this show.

  • I remember this show wow.

  • i have used to have the toys of this show and knew the theme song. hell i still know it! lol thumbs up if the 90's was the greatest generation of cartoons EVER!!!!

  • I don't think I watched this show, but I have to say, there is a lot of running away in this intro.

  • Holy shit! I just remembered all the MM toys I had!

  • That big buff dude wrote his name into the english dictionary with his sword. (BADASS)

  • This is the only cartoon I can remember where the main character actually got killed off.

  • 51 people had a bad run in with Norman

  • the video game for the sega genisis sucks couldnt even beat the first level but it also didnt tell me what the buttons were

  • Was just starting to watch this when I was younger and happened to watch a movie called AKIRA at a friends house... after that (kids)type shows where not as interesting anymore.

  • @ssjwes thats the problem with masterpieces. they just spoil everything else.

  • This was a badass show.

  • これ、良く知らないな、

  • @magurobushi a live action movie will be good

  • Man, i would really love to have a dvd release of this awesome series!

  • I liked that characters actually died on this show, including main ones too.

  • Oh, Mighty Max. Always getting your self in a pickle.

  • "Fowl actually."

  • @optimus2g

    RIP...Tony Jay

  • @ZECTCustomUnit Indeed.

  • This show was actually kinda adult for a kid and if I remember correctly, all of the kid's friends died, trying to stop the main villain of the show. He was the only one that survived.

  • Watched this briefly and loved it cant believe its taken me this long to find out what it is called!? I loved the intro so "MR. Bones" (sega saturn)

I cant believe I found it!!!!!!!!! it's only been 10 whole fucking years maybe more :/

  • This looks a little familiar but I'm not sure I can remember actually seeing this.

  • I recall this series. I think it had a lot of potential to go a lot longer. a pity it endede so abruptly.

  • damb i used to play the game on saga loool

  • This might be the greatest cartoon theme song of all time, followed closely by Swat Kats.

  • No one i know remembers this cartoon! they're all nuts. When i was a kid, i went around school saying my name is max for like 2 weeks. hahahaha

  • If I had that hat, imagine all the adventures I could have.

  • That bird sage reminds me of the bird doctor in Battletoads.

  • Holy crap, Norman is Brock Sampson's ancestor!

  • They don't make'em like they used to

  • this show had balls.

  • @baiteme That it did... Today's cartoons are wimpy, and lack nuts.

  • @baiteme ahahaha :D that it did, soo many cartoons had balls back then, batman, gargoyles, beast wars. the cartoons had balls because the kids who would watch them had balls. if you notice, the ballsness of guys are turning into fruit cake, guy kids are growing up feminine. i cant imagine what the world would be like when these kids grow up O.O.

  • i used to watch this before school this shit is classic cartoons do early morning cartoons even exist for kids anymore.

  • @sigmaphidelta8 Not on CN.

  • so this is what its like when you take drugs...

  • one thing i liked about this cartoon is they showed the consequences in battle and stuff. characters would die, hell random people would die. i remember one episode they came across a cottage with people murdered with an axe. they didn't show it of coarse, but they showed everyone's reactions to finding the bodies.

  • @poulet7 So true. I remember one saturday just bawling my eyes out because one of the characters I loved got killed. I think the fact that viewers would get so attached to the characters proved how great this show was

  • That big buff dude is like Ganondorf and Bill Rizer combined.

  • @RandomDetritus he kind of reminds me of Ka Dargo on Farscape.

  • @RandomDetritus omg! Can we shut up about Ganon please?!!!! Every cartoon intro on Youtube has a comment saying 'That dude looks like Ganon'.

  • Comment removed

  • epic music is EPIC AS FUCKKKKK

  • I remember loosing those freaking little figures a lot

  • This was my show!

  • Why can't kids today be raised on proper cartoons like this?

I practically grew up on stuff like Mighty Max, Bucky O'Hare and Ulysses 31.

But no, instead kids today have only the drivel that the Disney Channel keeps feeding them.

    All sugar, no meat.

  • My very 1st PG cartoon, amazing.

  • i still got this game on sega

  • I lost every Mighty Max toy.

  • @SnowDog0 I know what you mean. They were the size of polly pockets. I think I know where at least one of my mighty max toy's is, and it's practically a miracle because I've had it for 18 years.

  • the best cartoon of the 90's. i love this show

  • Mighty Max - The boys version of Polly Pocket

  • @DarkwingMantis ha i had those toys, the molten lava monster with the mini mighty max who fit inside it lol

  • I always liked Cyber Skull

  • The cap bearer!

  • Man this shit was weird and so were the toys but cool at the same time! Amazed I can still remember this exsisted as I would have been 3/4 the power of American TV.

  • man... I grew up on this!!!! I remember being really bummed out by the last episode....

  • @anroroco what happened in the last episode. didn't that big dude that protected him die or something sheeiit it's been too long.

  • @stackin4dayz They try to ,liek, defeat the evil dude, but he's too powerful, and Max isn't strong enough to defeat him. So, the bird guy and beowulf die, and Max, to avoid the end of the universe, send his cap to the past, in a package , to himself, so that the whole begin begins anew. Only, this time, it's implied that the cap has some vital information to the defeat of the Big Bad.

  • Masonic Max exploring other dimensions

  • I always confused this cartoon with Mad Max. I grew up on this

  • You ever notice how similar this is to Doctor Who? I mean, instead of time-travel it's teleporting around the world, but they always meet some kind of monster and spend a chunk of the episode running from said monster before they figure out some clever way to beat it.

    Just saying.

  • @Ksawarrior Sounds like Stargate to me

  • @Ksawarrior i give partial nod of agreement to that. the big difference is that mighty main character can die forever but the side characters are immortal where as in who the doctor can not die but his sidekicks can. i prefer a weak hero with epic personality, such that even demigods die for him willingly rather than a demigod main character who keeps weak hencman for their various personality traits be they epic or not. essentially, many gods dying for you is preferably to you dying for one.
