there was a group like this online years ago, called Palace, Palace was started out in California, it sold memberships then eventually went free. It had the same cult of personality in it, only it was in a format of a visual chatroom with avatars, I think Second life has taken it's place. I really doubt that Youtube will become a new form of entertaiment, its a cult of personality.
