The D2 steel Fitzen is using is great knife metal,I prefer a rugged yet elegant Bowie knife myself so that counts me out,I'm not into biker club clothes and gear but if that's your thing and you wan't to look tough even if you're not then these road warrior knives are for you.Fitzen promotes himself even if others don't wan't to promote him and with that ego good luck it would be a first for me to see that kind of method achieve success in this business where a nice guys rule like Hibben etc.

@blitzspeer he seems to do pretty well to me. how could afford all of the jewelry let alone maintain his business if he wasn't making money. not to mention that most hibben knives are incredibly high range as well, and that doesn't even include his custom stuff.

@prchico520 If you think that a mass produced functional fighting/military grade knife will set you back 150-300 dollars (top end ka bar, Topps range etc), and that they are machine made in their thousands, then an extra 2-300 bucks for a basic spec, handmade to order, custom blade is not bad value at all- providing you are a 'knife guy' of course. If you have no interest in blades, then 30 bucks is going to seem overpriced isnt it? ;-)

@prchico520 They are over priced a fair stretch... And he's a stock removal guy, so (no offence) but they knives will probably not stand up to a forged knife. I'm a blacksmith, I make and sell knives to people I know, and I basically work on the system that I charge the price of all the materials, plus £10 per hour I spend working on the knife (I think £10 an hour is fairly pay, so I'm happy). I usually end up at about £300-£600 for a knife. These are really over priced at $2000.

It's shameful to comment on the selling price of anything handmade such as John's knives. If you can't afford them I'm sure he'll get over it. There's a big world out there full of folks with the cash to spend on custom items. Leave stuff like this to those people and go buy a Gerber at Walmart if you are worried about the prices.

Great knives but, just way too expensive man, considering the other makers out there and their prices. I carry a mike snody custom menace with G10, ats34. 100% handmade with a a custom sheath, package was 180$ brand new. good looking blade you got there though
