OMG used to see them when I was just a kid with my sister and Dad, went everywhere. Became friends with all of them, Ruby, Robb, Steve, Freddie and Mudd Slide!!!
Does anyone happen to have an audio version of "Under Your Spell", the single before this one from 1984? I have been looking for that one for years and never been able to find it .. I'd pay anything even for just an mp3 of this song ... please let me know
Great tune Great singer! saw her live in 1978! RIP Ruby 16 yr ago today 01-14-11 Friday - Check her other stuff on youtube and myspace and a concert with Grey Ghost on Wolfgang's Vault!!!
Guys, from the research I've done, as this is a very hard album to find info on, I don't think this is the Southern Rock Ruby Starr. I think this is a different one. Of course, like I said, I'm finding very little info, only that this album isn't included in Ruby Starr's discography.
@hraor it was released as a single!! I have a45 around here somewhere to made into a mp3... it was after Grey Star when they were the Ruby Starr Band :D
the band did a song 'the Black Hole' I loved, she would just look at Me and say 'yeah we'll fit it somewhere' she was the perfect voice of idled head bangers wonderful soul and lady
I saw Ruby with Blackfoot at the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach, CA, 1978-ish. I loved it: the most notable memory was her cartwheels on stage with nylons but no panties. I was 17 and Ruby was strutting on my table.
Please post her (with Gray Ghost) NBC performance of "Burnin' Whiskey" from about 1975.
Ive seen ruby multiple times in the 80's with mud on the drums, she was by far the most talented singer of all time bar none. she rocked fans for years with her unique voice that belted out the best vocals of rock history, The photos do not do her justice to the beauty of this female singer either. She owned hands down, Best singer ever!
