Maybe you wouldn't buy a car just because it offers dual air bags. Or available anti-lock brakes. Or just because it's been redesigned throughout to look and feel better. That's right, made by a lot of cars. But we're not talking about a lot of cars. We're talking about the latest from a leader, Mercury Sable. Now, when would you like it delivered? All this and the quality of a Mercury.
It's such a shame these cars have a high depreciation where I live. Our base model GS sable (1995) looks same as 92' was $21,715 new, worth only 850-1500 dollars.
I used to have the '93 w/ the 3.8L V-6 (used on the Lincoln Continental, Mark VIII and Cougar/T-bird) ...in hindsight I'd take the 3.0, the 3.8 was always more expensive to service b/c it was bigger and took more time to service
Its meant to look futuristic and cool. Sable did it first and Pontiac copied it when they saw that people liked it. I supose it also gives you a bit more light. Not much (low wattage) but I guess you could argue it helped you see the road slightly better?
I love the way these cars look. They were and still are very interesting cars. Its a shame Mercury has axed it twice now.
Thanks. I agree with you, I hate to see Sable axed again. Especially with the hot looking Taurus redesign, I could just imagine how the new Sable would have looked.
I been in one of those cars before and the reason it gives such a nice ride is the 4 wheel struts on them. However the 3.0V-6 really kicks ass.The one I had was so good that if I hadn't open the hood I'd thought I had a V-8.
There are two 3.0 v6s on these. The one you're likely talking about is the Duratec 3.0, 200 HP. The one I've got, the Vulcan 3.0, is a gutless, no-balls pig.
@discovery2245 wow settle down i got a 93 sable GS with the 3.0 V6 vulcan and thing pulls like a fucking girl. 140 horses. It just sounds good when it revs up
One thing I absolutely did NOT like about Mercuries were the low-watt light bars in the front. Those things got dirty and dingy VERY fast.

When would you like it delivered, ha. You wouldn't have much of a choice cause the tranny wouldn't take you and the car home. Worst trannys ever

I love the central lights, also I would still love to have station wagon 1992-1994, they looked really great and different from other models ))

"available anti-lock brakes"
as the wheels skid to a halt. irony at it's finest.

I liked how they said optional antilock brakes and yet the brakes still locked up. Go figure. :D

I never have understood the purpose of the center headlights, a few Pontiacs were like that too.

I agree, they could have really taken this car to another level with a redesign. I love my 08, it rocks.
