Rubbish. This is an acid track. Techno started in the US with Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Co. as early as 1985. By '91, techno was already well established in UK clubs. Acid and techno certainly crossover but one didn't start the other. It just hapened that techno was more accepted in Europe and slotted right into a club scene that was already happening.
@Poachmeister I concur with you but I hate with a passion of the breaking down of subgenres with in Electronic music. In the end it's a great tune that has us moving to it. And we can thanks "techno" technology for it being done and for us to admire it from afar. I remember seeing an interview here on MTV Kurt Loder asking the biggest electronic act ever Depeche Mode on what they thought of Acid? They were like "wtf is acid?! And their English by heart! One Love, One World, One Universe paz.
This track is probably the start of all Techno music from 1991 until now. Most of it isn't real Techno or House music anymore... it's pretty much cheese. But I was a part of this scene when this track was in the dance clubs.

@DaKraftyFella Indeed it is; had this 12" on vinyl, a truly revolutionary tune this was; gave it the beans big time to this many times; after consuming lots of doves, disco biscuits and strawberries and microdots.
I personally think this beats the shit out of anything the Yanks put out then. I know what I was flailing to at Wigan Pier in them days and it wasn't Marshall jeff' - my opinion, with 808 State we ruled.
yo be careful wit dat, it degrades with each play dawg so makk shure u gots niggaz around 4 it wit big speakrz cuz its not worf fuckin up ur original sound while other shit could happen to your record(shit falling on the turntable, etc) juss 2 get dat analogue sound. pluss therz no diffrnce frm vnyl 2 digitl witout good monitrz either on da head or equidistant from da head ya digg ma doogie?
I used to get proper scared stomping to tunes like this in a derelict factory/warehouse whilst off my face on microdots. Ah, the poor kids of today, what have they got that could equal the acid house explosion?
@dazlants They've got crack and rioting for the time being. Then hopefully everyone will get all loved up again and things will mellow out eventually.
God I love this song. Always a favorite. The Konrad mix was terrible if you ask me. It does not do the song justice. I have the original speaker blowing version on vinyl. Will never part with it. Those were some of the best time of my life. Dancing till dawn with no care in the world. Of course with a little help my my vitamin E. Lol!
"This original mix (although you cant tell from this low quality recording) had extra heavy bass ,which did blow speakers."
Haha, I can remember this happening all the time in clubs, but this version is by far he best...it still gives me 'chills'. I still have this on vinyl.
bit slow, the original was a bit faster I'm sure... I heard that when it was first played in the clubs it blew every subwoofer due to the low frequency. I had it on promo with a track called Flowerz on the B side.
This IS the original 12" that came out on 1 sided, etched vinyl. The track that you are talking about is the Konrad Cadet mix.
This original mix ( although you cant tell from this low quality recording) had extra heavy bass ,which did blow speakers.
The complaints about this original version damaging sound systems were the reason that the less bassy and slighty faster Konrad cadet mix was made and released....
Ah, you said it man. I wish I still had the sweatshirt but I gave it away...I remember Steve Proctor used to put on 2001 and then Phuture (I think) and everyone would just go insane...
Ahhh- nice that someone can share that memory with me (cant believe its 21 years ago-sick or what)this is the club I stumbled upon acid house-and never looked back, even standing in the queue was a buzz listening to that bassline and the dryice(I think or steam haha)coming out the window above-happy days
I love the Bass-s-s-s-s and loved seeing Baby Ford in concert years ago. Baby Ford opened for Erasure ♥
