yes of course once we hit the straights i dont have near their power, but the hawk is built for the twistys :)

It's not easy to ride a sportbike on a short track like that. You were holding your own quite well, I'd say! I have only taken my motard on a larger track, and I was getting my headlights sucked out on every straightaway! Haha! My only hope was the corners. :-)

no worries Bro the gearing alone on the super motos is enough to do you in on that that short track. super moto (6speed top 80mph) R6 (6speed 150-160mph) on a larger track would be more of an equalizer

lol this track is a ego booster for the supermoto guys. This is like racing a normal car on a dirt track against a rally car... Similar yes, but for different uses. Props to supermoto riders though, I don't see many faster around corners than those guys.

It's simple math that a 250 LBS bike will stop a lot faster than 400 LBS bike considering they have about the same contact patch, so they can brake later into corners and take corners faster. Given a long enough straight a sport bike will win ever time but I'd rather watch mototards any day.

So true. I raced my friend over our local twisty spot on my klx300 motard, he was on a yzf-750 (112 hp at the rear wheel), my bike probably has bout 35hp, but i still beat him to the top. I know your probably thinking my mate is a shit rider, but actually he has been ridding bikes all his life, much longer then I have. Cant wait to get my wr426 SM!! :)

much respect for showing this vid especially as the motard passed you. personally, I have big balls on a supermoto because I ride enduro, stick me on a sportsbike and I wimp out at every corner. on a local ride I make mincemeat of sportsbikes outbraking them everywhere, by the time I hit 3rd gear after exiting the corner they pass me like I am going backwards, then I outbrake them again. horses for courses. and I love ALL bikes

Yea different skill sets but u ever ridden a supercross or motocross track I ride both and u pretty much have to be in navy seal shape to be good on a dirtbike, n racin on a road course is actually easier than riding a legit supercross track not to mention the danger involved on a supercross track.

Moot point your not having expert racers vs expert. The track record for the little track I ride at is held by a gsxr 1000. Kind of surprising considering we have a few pro flat track and motox racer's who practice there.
