  • "So get what's in yout hand out of my face!"

    I LOVE this film! *dance*

  • The film captures some of the major personality quirks and mannerisms of Doyle's Holmes character. However the film is an action movie. Is the movie a bastardization of Doyle's work? Absolutely not... Is it faithful... not really. It toes a fine line. I have read every Holmes story... and I thought the film was excellent, but that being said, it does take significant creative license with the source material.

The atmosphere of the movie is drawn from unfleshed out ideas from the stories.

  • @Byrnzi360 exactly! lol i thought this was a good movie... ok its not exactly like the stories & doesn't have much of holmes really doing alot of decective work, but it has action that makes more kids want to see it & then they can get into the books! i also liked that watson was a normal person instead of an idiotic fat man :)

  • "They've been flirting like this for hours"?

    Yes.

Too bad it wasn't included in the movie :C Hopefully it'll be in the deleted scenes portion of its DVD when it comes out.

  • i knw holmes is a british story but this film dont look half bad ill defo go see it.

  • @mcrfan2k9lprock

So you're assuming that because it's British it will automatically be bad? Grow up.

  • Trust Americans to batter a perfectly normal british story

  • Actually they seem to have made it better ...

  • but it isnt holmes :(

  • What do you mean? :) I agree he isnt as good as the origonal but this isnt a bad re-make

  • Of course it is not the classical Sherlock Holmes, but it is a good movie.. first when I saw the trailer I thought that it is just one of those bulshit Hollywood remakes, but in my opinion it is not;

Of course there are older Sherlock Homes movies which are a lot more like the books. For example the Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes movies..

  • I'm a MAJOR Sherlock Holmes fan and once thought the same as everyone else that has commented about this film. What I didn't realize is that this film is more true to the character created by Sir Conan Doyle than any other adaptation made. So just like I was we are comparing this new adaption to an incorrect reference. One that has been used to set the scene we all believed to be the real Sherlock Holmes and Watson. With this in mind I am now looking forward to seeing it.

  • Retarded? The trailer doesn't really show anything other than a few witty remarks, a lot of fighting scenes and special effects. Sherlock Holmes is a detective story, it's meant to be interesting and gripping. This trailer is like so many these days. The same dramatic music that has been used hundreds of times. The same layout, mixing all the best action and effects with wit and romance, just to show variety. Trailers are not accurate representations of the advertised film.

  • What I'm saying is, the trailer could just be a way to invite more people, who like effects, fighting and humour. Whereas the actual film may stick more to the actual story of Holmes. It's hard to tell when so many trailers are so much like this at the moment.

  • Seems like the movie is not really following the Sherlock Holmes style but that said it looks like it could be a good movie.
