Do you mean Ferdosi was a muslim? All of the Minature painters they STRUGGLED to keep their arts and culture alive. Islamic art is a remaint of Sassanian and Parthian art (NON-muslims). You should read the book "Persian Art" wich contains artifacts from 4000BC-until late 1800's that actually proves that IRANIAN ART influenced Islam and not the other way around.
Ofcourse Ferdowsi was a Muslim! Persian miniature painting dates back to the 13th century AD! We're not in a contest of who influenced who here - That's childish ultra-nationalist nonsense! The arts of the different cultures of the world continiously influence each other!

As for British support for Khomeini, there is evidence that Britain gave some approval of Khomeini but that is as far as the relationship goes. A bit like Idi Amin and the UK when Britain was complicit in the coup which led to his rule but did not have a client relationship with the Ugandan dictator.

I totally agree with you, but since the day Islam entered Iranian history, many factors got deteriorated (mainly in the artistic and cultural field). To be worthy of being called a "great civilization" you must judge the artistic achievements. And today, to be classified as a "modern nation", you judge by the women's status. In both cases, Islam has failed with Iran and Iranians. Arts and modernization were/are roughly struggling to survive under Islam. It's a fact.

I totally disagree with you - It is only AFTER the introduction of Islam to Iran, that Persian art and culture has flourished! This is one of the MAJOR contributions of Islam to Iranian civilization. Look at all the poets we have after Islam - Where were they before Iran became Islamic? Rumi, Ferdowsi, Attar, Nezami, Roudaki, Hafez, etc.? Look at the mosques, palaces, handicrafts, tilework - All this came after Iran became Islamic.

Do you mean Ferdosi was a muslim? All of the Minature painters they STRUGGLED to keep their arts and culture alive. Islamic art is a remaint of Sassanian and Parthian art (NON-muslims). You should read the book "Persian Art" wich contains artifacts from 4000BC-until late 1800's that actually proves that IRANIAN ART influenced Islam and not the other way around.

tubesrw you should learn more about your history:mosques, palaces, handicrafts, tilework are CERTAINLY NOT islamic inventions. they were actually invented and in use during Sassanian and Parthian dynasties. It's amazing how some don't know about these obvious things... Arabs/beduins/preachers of Islam got MESMERIZED by PERSIAN art.

What I said is that without the fusion between Persian and Islam, we would not have the many art forms, architecture, palaces, beautiful mosques and the poetry we have today. Where would for instance Jalaleddin Rumi's poetry be without Islam in Iranian culture? And what about our beautiful calligraphy? Thank God Islam came to Iran!!!

This is a nice production. However, the distinguished producer must understand that the word /raastaa/ does not mean /raasti/, it means 'along with, (in) conjunction (with), contingency', etc. So it is 'Raasti-o Rustaa'. Anyway, good job; dast-e shomaa dard nakonad.
