Pop over to an apple store near you. You could sit on a computer for hours in there and apple dont care aslong as you enjoy there product. Also I have used Avast, I cannot concer to that statement. Avast is the worst I have used and my GFs HD got eaten alive by a virus that got through Avast. I have AVG installed (Industry standard Anti Virus To Date) and shes been on the same sites and AVG catches it all.
Still better to buy a Mac rather than a PC, because all you do is Run Windows on Your Mac with the Leopard Drivers, it works faster than the adverage PC

The iMac Ram can be exchanged but thats all you need even when the game says it needs a Cretan graphics card. Like I can run Oblivion Full Graphic its just a little slow because of RAM. But if you want, go buy a Mac Pro and you can do it all, all the editing.

Well running Linux will work if you have a PC with BiOS - If you have a mac on the other hand, Linux wont boot with EFI (sadly) I know there are ways around it, but I cant find any. Other then that, I agree.

An alternative, far superior OS to Windows/Mac/Linux - RISC OS. Most people I mention it to ignore it because they haven't heard of it, but you seem to know what you're talking about.
windows has always been terrible, mac has had its downtime with some crash problems and hanging on the system besides that its seemless, ms has thousands of viruses new ones everyday, Linux is the ultimate OS for anyone that knows how to program, its so customizable it is truly a PC personal computer in a perfect world we would all hav systems runing with mac and all games would be mac compatible :D sadly MS makes life hard. i use MS but forever love mac and linux which i have dual booted :D

i use a pc, but i really want to try out a mac. just to see what it's all about.
that being said, you went off about having to pay for anti virus programs for pc.
there are a lot of good freeware anti virus programs.
i have a ubcd4win disk so i don't have to install any of them.
but i know people who use avast and say it's great! and it's free.
i can't afford a mac, and i don't know anyone that owns one either, so i can't try it out.

Some peoples says the MacBook Pro are a very good laptop for the gaming.
But, do you know if Oblivion, Morrowind, Test Drive Unlimited and GTA IV (who coming in november...) exists on Mac OS X?
Games developers should make more games for Mac!
