  • did kanye west use this sample for 'celebration'? its sounds an awfully lot like it!

  • Stevie I could write words to explain what you mean to me...however I will simply say that you inspire me....I hear God when listening to your gift!!!

  • Sandra Dee Lawson.

  • you have to apperciate greatness. Stevie is that and so much more. They say we have a few greats in a lifetime, then if that's the case stevie wonder is definitily one of those in our time.

  • song makes me cry....love Stevie.....I remember my mom buying this cassette for me bacause of my grades...lol...love it!!!

  • stevie's background work is unmatched. listen to thast 3 part harmony on the chorus. the best.

  • @vstarr89...I agree, and while they are at it, they need to pick up a Nat king Cole album too.

  • Keep spreading the Love!

  • Music just ain't the same anymore...teardrop. Every kid living in this musically sucky generation should just pick up any Stevie album, listen to it all the way through, maybe more than once, and I guarantee you'll wonder what the hell you were listening to before.

  • Sweet touch of jazz

  • This song sounds like a demo-- it would have been so much better if live musicians played on it-- it's too electronic. Great song.

  • I wonder if he would have been able to create all his music if he had eyesight?

  • Stevie is timeless talent! Too bad the mainstream music industry has been raped byt 15 mins of fame ringtones these young boys are being encouraged to sing!

  • Man I love Stevie..He's my next favorite after Mike...thanks 4 uploading fam

  • excelent ! stevie forever man ! chooonnn

  • I'm 16 and I love Stevie Wonder. ♥

I mean he is soo much better than some Artist like Lady Gaga and everyone.

I downloaded nearly all his music, cause I love it so much.

  • @donika1993 You are 16. For your own sake, listen to music a little less at this point, and learn English. It will serve you better long-term in life.

  • @MrKanoot I am sorry that I am not English and mine is not perfect like yours! Why don't you start learning German and French? Maybe that would serve you, too? I will still listen to music as much as I can.

  • Je parle Francais. If you choose to ignore the advice of a stranger, so be it. I frankly didn't expect you to listen based upon your educational predisposition to listening to music rather than improving your life. It is very typical of your age group. I expect you will spend much of your time on YouTUBE which should also improve your life significantly. Enjoy.

  • @MrKanoot Okay think want you want to think! Because you don't know anything about my education. Alright we should let it be because we won't find a solution :D I will enjoy. Peace !

  • @MrKanoot - Actually, based upon your writings, I do.

  • I like the "doo's"

  • the music is so generic but i love this song

  • This tune is one of many, MANY "Diamonds" from the mind of Stevie Wonder that is not as recognized & appreciated anywhere NEAR the level that it should be! My God, on every one of Stevies' albums, there was always 4 or 5 brilliant tunes that were strong enough to be released as singles, but simply weren't. "Stranger On The Shore Of Love" is not only a prime example of that, but is also further evidence of the simple fact that STEVIE WONDER IS THE GREATEST SONGWRITER OF OUR GENERATION.....PERIOD!

  • amen to that. i this album is heavily underrated

  • Preach, DAMMIT....PREACH!!!!!

  • i co- sign this statement....NO ONE TOUCHES STEVIE!!!

  • @aliquippawill Remember, he had his time. Music is generational, in my opinion, and is kept alive by the remembrances of those who lived in the era. On the other hand, he has been the most imitated artist around for young black artists. Many of them sounding like broke down Stevies, not knowing when to add trills and rifts due to the lack of training in schools and now churches.

  • @aliquippawill AGREED!!

  • @aliquippawill EXACTLY !!!! . . . . People don't realize that he's tellin a store every album. Amazin!!!! If you listen to the Album from the being to the end (take out Apartied) Its telling a Story

  • @aliquippawill I agree. I think Stevie and Smokey were probably the best two song writers in modern history.

  • Jesus!!!!! The harmonizing on the chorus at 2:45. Oh and that always moving bass line. Amazing!!!!!

  • Love the way he digitally recorded his voice (doo, doo, doo) onto the keyboard and was able to play it back at any pitch. This may have been the first use of digitally sampled playback manipulation I can recall hearing. I remember David Bowie doing that at the end of "Fame" but it had to have been some other way such as tape speed manipulation as the digital tehnology hadn't been introduced yet. As a matter of fact , "Secret Life Of Plants" was the first digitally recorded album ever!

  • Remember the Cosby Show episode when Denise had a car accident with Stevie Wonder and he invited the family into the studio? He used the keyboard then too to mimic the family, Cliff saying "Baby", hahahahaha

  • when will he come back

  • I don't wanna have an upset stomach from a broken heart, baby!

  • bet you can't tell me what soundtrack that was on..lol

  • Ummmm......I would say.....THE LAST DRAGON

  • You are correct!

  • the man is a musical genius obviously blessed by God to do what he does...wow is all i can say.. wow.. everytime i think about it i'm like wow

  • i know i don't want to be a stranger on the shore of love with tears and a broken heart either.. thanks stevie for this song

  • This is such a great crafted song.

    Stevie plays all the instruments.

I just love the bass line the drums the melody and the harmonies, (Stevie's own harmonies) I would also love to hear this song live, this song is so underated, it should have been a massive hit.

    Brilliant

  • lol, not that i know of but i think he will again :)

  • man i LOVE this song, and this album and he didn't touch In Square Circle on his '07 tour...at least at the show i went to.

  • He didn't do "Overjoyed" or "Part time lover"?

He did at the show I went to

  • NO! he didn't...you're lucky-my show was in Baltimore, where did you see him?

  • Detroit

    it was in June

  • fart...well there's always hope that he'll do In Square Circle when I see him again, lol

  • he's touring again in the U.S.?

  • this entire album was a beast...this song a lost marvel in electronic music production. He used drumming machines, synthesizers and boards to make this whole project work unlike anyone at that time in R&B/Soul..or period for that matter.

  • This is a great song it got missed by many whe this album came out nobody played this song on the radio shame on them.

  • ahh! yes! just loaded. i was looking for this as early as april of last year.

i thought jamerson would have been retired after all the $ he made.

i thought this would have been paired with never in your sun, like is was onthe cassette.

    thanks for the post johnniewalker23

  • This song is sooo great!!Stevie's key bass work is amazing!!You can hear the Jamerson influence all through it!!
