@thechickboy1 yes...they are great pets if you can properly house and feed them. You also need to do thorough research on this species and reticulated pythons. They are definitely not a beginner species; I would start with a smaller snake like a ball python, a corn snake, or even a dwarf boa.
@Eman812 you have to support as much of their body as possible so you should have another person with you or atleast in the next room. To hold one I like draping him over my shoulders and to play with him i like to take him outside and let him crawl around the room while I watch tv...always supervising them
This video is actually perfect. I couldn't have said anything better myself, im adding this to my favourites! your Burm is just like mine temperament wise aswell, puppy dog tame, but you have to be careul getting him out coz he thinks your food lol how big Is he? Mines just over a year and is around 5 and a Half foot, I really wanna know because I assumed mine was male, but with strange growth patterns could turn out to be a female :S which I certainly won't be able to house...
@theanaconda666 thanks a lot man..yeah I just winged it....I wander all over the place but thanks....sherbet's about 1.5yrs old...give or take...I don't know how old he is exactly though...he is about 8.5ft and 30lbs....i think yours sounds like a male but get it probed to check...I just picked up a female lavender albino retic check her out....she's going to be huge...going to need to build a cage within the year for her...
@hockenburyj2 thanks, ive just made an appointement next week to get him probed by a vet, hopefully it turns out he's a male, i mean everyone thinks he is, even you lol but i wanna be 100% sure. and ill be watching all of your videos, believe me, so get some vids up of her!
@theanaconda666 haha same man...that sucks your conda is gone but I'm looking forward to watching the burm grow....I'll put up a newer one of her soon
@Crimsonterminator100 I'd reccomend starting with a ball python or corn snake if you have no experience with snakes. They grow really fast and are expensive to house and maintain. I would learn how to handle snakes and read them first before you get a larger constrictor like this
@Crimsonterminator100 ok well I would at least try to find someone who has larger snakes and handle them and help him with cleaning cages and maintenance and if you are ready to do it then do it just make sure you have done your research and can properly house and feed these monsters
great vid! i usually dont watch care vids cause people dont prepare before making them but you did good! and the best part is that your main point was to do lots of research, good job!
@knglee3rd thanks man same with all your videos. Especially the one explaining buying online and at reptile expos really should help out beginner herpers.
@mendopythons check out the video about the cages and sliding glass doors in the comments but about 300 for everything including the heat panel. That doesn't include the thermostat though.
@SquirtleRuNzSocial I wait to feed them once they shed. Idk what month he was born in but I would think may-early june of 2010. He is going to be a nice big boy
@JJLoW12 I would but it is basically the same thing. There aren't much differences. Retics tend to get longer and more slender than most burms. Retics also tend to me more active and explorative while most burms are lazier haha.
That python is stunning.

@c032970 i'd make sure you do thorough research....a burm/retic is a huge step from a corn...your call ultimately
