i think cullyvan is trying to say that people dont have rights, we dont have the right to anything all we have is privelages. hence the title of the album this song is "Music has the right to children", hard to defend your constitutionally protected rights if you dont have any to begin with. if i ever serve as a juror on a cencorship case they will rue the day i ever stood foot on that panel.
@cullyvan If organized government censures or directs people to listen or watch certain media--as it has done repeatedly in the past-- then it is up to the people themselves to protect their freedoms... what doesn't make sense about that?
i just want to hang in here for a moment and enjoy the silence after the transmission. matbe eat. maybe poop an intellectualized thought that some might understand, others will reject. we can feel. we are one. we are the truth.
Now that the show is over, and we have jointly exercised our constitutional rights, we would like to leave you with one very important thought. Sometime in the future, you may have the opportunity to serve as a juror in a so-called obscenity case. It would be wise to remember that the same people who would stop you from viewing an adult film may be back next year to complain about a book, or even a TV program.
If you can be told what you can see or read, then it follows that you can be told what to say or think. Defend your constitutionally protected rights. No one else will do it for you. Thank you.
what a different world they lived in! Such a well informed, experienced culture, but now we have no rights and there is a war the battles are fought in the minds of human beings and seen represented on the battlefield. we are disgusting and must stop
1) Voir Dire - 1850 - jury questioning instated to rig juries in favor of those who agreed with the fugitive slave act.
2) 1800s-1960s instatement of mandatory bar membership (licensing of lawyers) meant that justice was licensed by the government, and those who disagreed with the law could be disbarred
3) "Sparf and Hansen v the USA" (1895) allowed judges to instruct the jury, and fail to inform them of their rights
The concept they are referring to is technically called "Jury Nullification of Law" meaning: the jury has a right to veto the law, even though the judge is likely to tell them that they "are to apply the law as he gives it to them". Well, you can do that, if you are a conformist sheep, but think about it: you wouldn't even be there if the judge had more power than the jury. Google "Fully Informed Jury Association" for more information, or "International Society for Individual Liberty" Peace..
it sounds awesome doesn't it? however i don't think it's a sample considering she mentions the name of the band. it's simply a spoken word song meant to sound like an information video or something.
even still, the "lyrics" if you can call them that are excellent.
fantastic track, i think it's absolutely excellent.
it is a sample, this version is for music has the right..., and the "listening to boards of canada" is imposed by the ban. In the boc maxima version, you can hear her say, "...viewing an adult film". Its a sample used from a PSA at the end of a porn film haha. Btw rodox video, a boc track, was also the name of a porn company from back in the day. Pretty interesting stuff, great sample, powerful track.
"If you could be told what you could see or read, then it follows that you could be told what to say or think. Protect your constitutionally protected rights, no one else will do it for you. Thank you"
not questioning you in particular, but i wonder what it would say about someone that you personally know, that gives advice to stay away from certain things. On a slightly different note, if we extend the logic of the "saying" what does that say about government provided education? like i was saying, not really questioning you in particular but since you posted the comment i thought it was fitting to ask my question here
Advice is not the same as censorship. Saying "I think it is best to avoid that" gives me a right to acknowledge, and act on or ignore such advice. Saying "Do not do this or it will constitute a criminal offence" will be censorship. Everyone has the right to suggest something, everyone has the right to act on or ignore. I would however posit that suggestion is not the same as pressuring, or brainwashing or deliberately misinforming/slandering.
I think there was a case against them which may have resulted in some/one of their records being banned in the US. It was to do with subliminal message in their music. Have a listen to Geogaddi
At some point I had to shift perspective after finding out about all this crap. It's scary but the power elite doing this are like ants on an elephant. It's just that the elephant is currently asleep, hypnotized by the ants.
"...you can be told what to say or think..."
Well of course. Anyone who's been to public school knows that first hand.

Juries are more powerful, once seated, than judges are...
"I consider trial by jury as the only anchor yet devised by man, by which a government can be held to the principles of its constitution."
—Thomas Jefferson
"If the machine of government is of such a nature that it requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then, I say, break the law."
—Henry David Thoreau
