Hubbard tried to make it seem like he and Crowley were friends during the time when Hubbard was hanging out with pagan Jack Parsons (who was himself merely an acquaintance of Crowley).

Crowley's opinion of the two was expressed in a letter to Karl Germer: "Apparently Parsons or Hubbard or somebody is producing a Moonchild. I get fairly frantic when I contemplate the idiocy of these louts."

i went to an org last weekend. i was so depressed- there were many people there less than 25 years old. they are recruiting, and are successful at it (at least at this org). they accept the fake science of the e-meter and auditing without question.
