This was an amazing scene, but they used this song in a similar way breaking bad did. Unfortunatelly it's not the first time vampire diaries does this, they often use songs from one tree hill in very similar situations. I love the show but this kinda seems lazy song choice.

@coleif Yes- he wanted to be a vampire, but he wanted to become one so he could be with Katherine forever. And it wasn't Katherine's "fault", not fully, consider that it was her blood in his system, but it was still Stefan who made Damon drink the blood which would make him complete the transformation.

So..."he made his bed and now he has to live with his life" isn't quite the right thing to say - at least that's what I think. but everyone thinks differently.
