Second LIfe church is just as real as brick and morter ones. My congregation consists of people who cannot go to real life churches because of their own disability or because they are caring for children who have severe problems. Many of our people come from countries like China where religion is all but banned. This venue is just another way to evangalize. It's far better to have this in the 3D world than the adult content. It's a good alternative for those who can't go to rl church.

I've been to churches in both Second Life and "meatspace", and I can tell you there is no adequate substitute for a real brick & mortar church.

What I would like to do is use video footage filmed in Second Life in my church's music and dance program this coming Christmas.

Islam is growing due to birth rates in poorer societies. Hinduism is also growing due to birth rates, but not expanding geographically.

Christianity is not growing, it is shrinking. It has reached its geographical ("convert") limit in Africa and Asia. It is dying in Europe, where half the continent is now neither Christian nor Muslim, but no religion.

The biggest change in religion globally is those that are "no-religion" in the wealthier and better educated nations.
