Excellent high level explanation. A question. Let's say I want to leave the default group policies untouched. Can I create a GPO below the default e.g. MODSTODEFAULT which starts identical to the default and then within it I change the stuff I want to change and set it to override the original defaults. Then if I ever want to undo my changes I deletethe lower policy and/or undo the changes in it. In this scenario I may end up applying identical policies in both - will that be a problem?
