  • @blackjerryboymetal 727's are way smaller than a 767 and a 747. So much smaller that there flight characteristics aren't comparable. I agree that he should have used a 767 model but it probably wasnt available with all the parameters that the 747 model includes. But 767 and 747's have a much closer flight envelope than either do with the 727.

  • Firstly, why the conflicting speed reports. Secondly, this is an odd test that didn't simulate that actual conditions. It was a 767 that hit the tower. And they nosed down from 26 thousand feet at a rate of 10 000 feet per minute. They could have reached some insane speed during that decline. I don't think they would carry that speed as they leveled out and hit the building tho.

This kind of control of an aircraft from a guy who had never flown a Boeing 767? This feat alone defies all logic, yet on 9-11-01 THREE such feats happen, without a hitch!

  • A 767-200 hitting the twin towers is equivalent to shooting a bb gun at a freight train. Since 911 everyone is an expert on aerodynamics, aircraft and jp fuel etc.. Yet most do not even know the basic principle that creates lift for aircraft, let alone the differences between turbofan, turbojet. Now this statement will be attacked with so called "physics experts" LOL.

    Aircraft deformation would begin as the aircraft hit the tower yet we didnt see that.

  • @skyarcher Mach 0.50... That's simply a safety standard, it does NOT mean it's impossible to reach such speeds at sea level. Those planes are capable of traveling 500mph at 700 feet. Is it safe? Of course not. Possible? Certainly.

  • @skyarcher I read somewhere that for a Boeing 767 the never exceed is mach 0.88 at high altitude and below 10000 ft it is somewhere between 420 and 440 kts, but the Master WARNING alarm for overspeed will begin to sound at 360 kts which is the Maximum operation speed below about FL270

  • @NowKillYourself this will happen with all jetliners of similar size, it is something called lift and the air density at sea level makes the aircraft nose up at higher speeds. A common aspect of most large wide bodied airliners.

  • @skyarcher Max speed of a Boeing 747-400: Mach 0.92, 533 knots, 614mph at 35,000 feet. The 767-200's maximum cruise speed at 35k feet is 493 knots or 568mph. So, NO, the planes are NOT the same. You are not comparing apples to apples. You need to test fly a 767-200 with the EXACT fuel load, passenger/cargo load as well. Sure it's unsafe to fly at 500+ mph at 700 feet alt. [ALT. of #175 on impact; 9/11] but it's definitely NOT impossible.

  • The B727 has turbojets and the B767 has turbofans. Turbofans large front high bypass fan cannot handle the amount of air density at low altitude. The M.I.T, F.A.A, NIST and FEMA speeds are clearly ridiculous. Also, the videos showing 175 impacting the S. Tower all show no deceleration as it encounters the steel building. Try it yourself with any of these "impact" videos: F=ma=m(0)=0 force on building.

  • Ummmmmmm, this is a 747 (note the engine readout on the center display panel - 4 engines). Flight 175 was a 767-222. As for the program - looks like MS Flight Simulator X.

    One of the other guys was right - the plane needs to be re-trimmed as you gain speed - this is true in any aircraft (ok, not sure about the B2 bomber, etc). Otherwise, as you gain speed, the nose will invariably lift up. I'm guessing the author is about 15 years old (this is why he over-dubbed the computer voice).

  • @kkMonterey Goon. I mention in the very first minute that the aircraft is not a 767 but a 747. Both aircraft have nearly exactly the same V speeds. It is MS Fs2004 not X. wrong.

    1. 767 and 747 are widebody jets with almost exactly the same 'flight envelopes'.They have almost identical Va and Vmo speeds for ground level flight. Look it up. you might learn something.What happens to 747 near ground level re: speed will happen to 767.

    6 hours in an old style 727 cockpit sim and amazingly the 'highjackers' are capable of trimming this aircraft with 100% accuracy as it descends at over 40% above its certified max speeds.

    Anyone with any knowledge of pilot training and the huge hours it takes will know in an instant that this story is rubbish.

  • Also note the definition of Vmo. It is max operating and although deliberate operation above this speed is usually not authorised, It can be safely exceeded. Flying outside this limit puts you into the fringe envelope designed with a safety margin in mind. Aircraft will operate normally within the safety margin as it a design directive of the FAA. Vmo also has alot to do with manoeuvring. Full control deflection is not aloud above Vmo but the a/c weren't exactly doing aero's

  • I would also like to know the Weight and balance settings you had for your 747 as i wonder if they matched the approximate weight of the a/c that crashed.

    There is wreckage (documented, photgraphed on display) for all crashes. Have a look at American Eagle Flight 4184 crash pictures and you'll see little of the aircraft remaining.

  • Me thinks you should be doing the research skyarcher. EA99 airspeed reached its peak calculated value of 0.99 Mach (653KTAS assuming ISA), as the airplane descended through about 22,200 feet msl (prior to levelling off at 16,000 climbing to 24,000 then beginning the final plunge) however the aircraft did not break up until prior to impact when the left engine sheered off.

  • I have not watched all the videos nor am I an aeronautical engineer. However, what I do know is that an aluminum tube full of kerosene cannot pass through a steel wall. I don't care how fast it is going. Then, this steel structure evaporates into thin air. Something diabolical took place that day.

  • On the other video the report said that flight 175 descended 6000 fpm, which means that the airplane will exceed it maximum speed, and if that happens the aircraft will be ripped into pieces before it even reach its destination, which really make sense to me! I believe that story is 100% not true.

So 'claimed' speeds in themselves cannot be used as a test for the events of 911, ie. the impossibility to exceed 300+ knot speeds at sealevel. Hundreds of vids and photos document the WTC 2 impact, & actual witnesses saw and reported the planes in real time.

    I dunno about the Penn or Pentagon crash sites.

  • A fully loaded commerical airliner cannot travel at 500+mph at 800 feet. As per most of the videos, the "airliner" is not in a dive, it is flying level upon impact of the buildings. There is no deceleration, no separation of wings, engines or tail section, no crumpling and most important, no fireball upon initial impact. There is no explosion noted until AFTER the "plane" has fully entered the building. A JASSM penetrator missile is designed to do that, fully penetrate and then detonate.

  • How would FEMA, NIST, the military or the FAA even know how fast 175 was going in the first place. The black boxes were never recovered, as per the 9/11 Commission Report. "In Chapter 1, footnote 76, there is the sole but definitive reference to the airline black boxes: The CVRs and the FDRs [voice and flight data recorders] from American 11 and United 175 were not found. Why? Because JASSM missiles hit the towers, not airliners.

    I will ask you something. Have you ever seen a 767 crash into a building going 545 mph? Before 9/11, no, you haven't. Therefore, you have no idea how an aircraft that large flying that fast will react when it hits a building. Also, the building wasn't a steel wall, it was steel columns with glass. Roughly half of what the aircraft went through was glass. So to answer your question, yes, it was reality. Thousands of people can 100% confirm it. They saw it happen. Can't argue with that

    This plane was descending out of a dive at 10,000ft/min which is unheard of for a commercial aircraft. Punching the throttles to full power with no load on them?

  • @skyarcher A plane did not pass through a building intact. It blew up. And this is not a new thing. 1945 a B-25 crashed into the Empire state building. A much smaller and slower plane actually had an engine blow through the whole floor and land on a build across the street. Although much smaller it still left a very similar hole in the Empire state building. Look it up. But you will probably say they made that one up 66 years ago.

  • @skyarcher A 350,000lb long and large object traveling at 500+ mph is not going to just hit and magically stop and fall. the front part of the plane penetrates and deforms...but we cant see that because it is in the building. But it wont stop. It will keep moving (laws of physics/inertia and the fact the WTC was not a solid). The object is still moving. what is in the building is breaking up but the section outside is still moving on the same trajectory and speed.

  • @skyarcher The outside portion of the plane has not yet deformed because it has not came in contact with anything yet. IT is still moving at 500+. Not only is the part of the plane that has penetrated still rapidly moving but it is also being pushed by the tail section which weighs an ass load that is coming in with it. Once through and enough friction and heat have been created. Boom. And the blast will go out the otherside first because that plane has not magically come to a screeching halt.

    In 1945 the B-25 CRASHED into the Empire State building. The tail section was stuck in the side of the building and plane debris littered the street below.

    Had UA 175 been a real airliner, loaded with fuel for a cross country trip, there would have been a crash and subsequent explosion upon impacting the OUTSIDE of WTC 2. Instead, UA 175 flew THROUGH the outer steel framed wall unimpeded, no crash, no impact, no deceleration and exploded INSIDE the tower. Impossible.

    420 knots is not a certified speed it is a max speed which is not necessarily achieved during flight testing.

    A large jet will not even go over about 320 knots unless the pilots are fully trained and are able to trim the elevator.

    If you have new information as to how these 'hijackers' learnt to accurately the stabilzer of a 767 while it was supposedly going 40% over is Vmo pls bring this info forward.

Where did they learn these skills - to trim the plane precisely as it descended and while the overspeed clacker deafened the cockpit? It takes a commerical pilot 2 years and 1000s of hours to learn these skills and he is not overspeeding by 140 knots??

  • skyarcher, I'm sorry but this simulator, while it may be the 'best' for a home computer set-up, is nonetheless incorrect, in your example. Or, you intentionaly did not trim the horiz stabilzer. This would affect the software in the sim. Do you even have a pilot's license? Or, just an armchair airline pilot wannabe? Do you know that, all other things equal, when you add thrust and speed increases, the nose will want to come up? That's why we have STAB Trim.

    Redo your test, with trim.

  • I am aware of Stab trim. This sim will trim the stab in autopilot for a selected low level straight altitude and the nose will pitch down. The plane overspeeds where expected and after about half a minute breaks up.

    Here is a question for you. You assume in your response that the 911 'hijackers' had the training, knowledge and experience to accurately 'Trim' a large jet something which takes commerial pilots 2 years and 1000s of hours of training to achieve. Where did u get this info??

    The "Dive Velocity" VD of 420 kts. is a speed that is a maximum for certification flight tests accomplished under 14 CFR Part 25.253 High Speed Characteristics and has not necessarily been achieved but is far above VFC (390 kts. 450 mph) which is the maximum speed at which stability characteristics must be demonstrated (14 CFR 25.253(b)).
