I have a John Deere L-130 and the transmission went out at 357 hours of operation. Acording to the blogs in reference to the tuftorq transmission it appears as if they are junk. You can replace it with a hevier trans but dropping a $1000 is a bit on the costly side.
I have a little john deere 160 that I was suppose to repair for mowing but was too far out of whack to fix so I stuffed an 8.5 hp motor into it for hauling stuff around. Rock solid machines
There's nothing like being a part of the John Deere Family! Its so much fun that ya'll forgot to pull the plastic bag with the manuals in it off the back of the tractor. I've had my LX255 for 9 years and it still runs like a dream, I mean Deere. Congrats and have fun.

Heres a tip for ya,install john deer highlift blades and you will stripe,also mulch blades dont allow bagging very well.
