Shame on you! Jerry Jones has nothing to do with pro star and you do not have his permission to use his material or his students for your purposes. You have not paid him and you have no honor to let people comment on his videos with such vulgarity without deleting their remarks. Jerry Jones is well known and well liked by many. Who is Joe Brignoli? Is he in hiding? Jerry Jones can be found very easily and is a person of integrity.
The idea that getting the under hook with the far arm is not a good idea isn't a good one. When you get that under hook, you're coming to your knees, and hiding your head. It's very possible to get hit but probably not enough to get knocked out. and you'll probably get an escape out of it.
I'm sorry, but I don't know what "sud jesting" is. But I think you meant to ask me why beginner material will work in MMA. Jerry Jones trains dozens of Pro and Amateur fighters, all of which have gone to the guard in this way in fights. The basics are what seems to work today. But I totally agree with your view of the Gracie academy.
Again, I must point out that when you add striking to the mix, it changes the whole dynamic of the fight, making MMA very different from the sport jiu jitsu you mentioned.
I started back in 94 I have seen unbeaten techniques fail, I have seen basic techniques come back to life. I can tell you this that move would not work on my blue belts they would just switch their hip and that's the end of that.
I appreciate your opinion. But with all due respect, you are sounding much like the guys from the 70's, "My Kung Fu is better than your Kung Fu!" Everyone thinks their material is the best. The fact that a video is, "making you mad," says a lot. I had a traditional TKD guy tell me the same thing last week. Emotional attachment to material is what kept martial arts back in the stone age for so long.
That's interesting, since the same technique was recently used successfully by one of Mr. Jones' professional MMA fighters....
This is only one of many ways to get out of the side mount, but you'll see it all the time in the UFC. (Keep in mind, we're teaching MMA, not sport BJJ. Striking changes the whole game - there is much more work from the side mount, and much less from the guard.)
The safest and most effective way to get out from bottom against a black belt level fighter is bridge hard and turn to your knees turning it into a single.
Or bridging hard rolling to your knees and then fall back to guard.
Excelent technique, I do Judo and started BJJ five days ago and we were practicing this move. Of course my instructor is not as pretty as the girl of the video.
They're a great team that shows the technique well. MMA is what everyone wants to learn now. If I plan to open a school, it would most definitely be a ProStar MMA school. What a great tool for your arsenal.
It's good to see other women grappling. My family and I go to a Pro-Star school and we LOVE it. We tried a Teakwondo school that teaches kickboxing before that, but we weren't happy. MMA is the martial art of the future, and it allows smaller women like me and my 3 kids to defend ourselves.

Ridiculous, suggesting that BJJ isn't compatible with fighting. Holding someone tight isn't a good way to escape.

This technique works, however there are better variations.

All I know is that I would trap and attack that exposed arm. There wouldn't be any space for my opponent to "punch that arm up and over my head".
In my opinion that's a very dangerous place to put your arm.

That's a separate video designed to be taught at higher rank in the Pro-Star Curriculum. What is shown above is beginner material.
