Why don't chicks get that dudes want them to be this way instead of smack talkin' gossip tossin' full on lame ass wenches with no excuse for their meager existences?? Yeah, that's right... give me a a rockin' chick any day of the week, you keep your sorry sorority weak cups of tea...
I saw them play in the mid 80s in LA. Great band & Paula was a cool person. This song is really good. Of course it's based on 'I Can Only Give You Everything' but they made something new out of it.
wow paula pierce and the pandoras....dig it! love the beat! this is real r'n'r babe! angry pussy cats....loved them...get the album ...real gem of garage punk!
Because the B-52's came around at just the right time when big record labels were looking to sign and promote "new wave" music. All that really meant was any new music that was happening in 1978 that didn't have 4-letter words in it. That window shut tight by the time bands like the Pandoras were doing their thing. By '84 MTV was taking over the music industry and if you weren't hair-metal or bland synth-rock then you didn't stand a chance.
I saw them back in the eighties. I'm pretty sure it was as the opening act for Girlschool, in 1983 or 1984. Great show. Good memories. Thanks for posting...
I met Paula back in LA in 1986. She was soooo cool and wonderful and was not the least bit pretentious. I met her at the old Wherehouse Entertainment in Torrance, Calif., where I worked. I recognized her when she walked in and we chatted for about 20 minutes.
Kinda. But the difference is that in the 80's this was very underground. No one was making money or getting played on the radio or MTV doing this kind of music. Once the Bangles slicked-down their sound they started getting big, but that's about it for back then. All the really good bands stayed under the radar.
@Brewzerr exactly. Slipping under the radar can be the best career move a band can make - not for paying the rent of course, but for avoiding sanitisation.
Wow they come on like a big bang!LOL. The Pandoras must have pretty much been kept underwraps,at least from mainstream radio,as I have never heard of them! Oh and they kick serious butt too!!! Thanks for sharing.
Hey Record1207-- That's because radio promotes sh*t, plays sh*t and is sh*t. That's why. Radio s*cks so bad, it's pathetic. You need four lawyers and $10,000 to get your song on the radio if they don't find you.
Paradox-- Good song, but it sounds like "I Can Only Give You Everything" by Them and the chorus sounds like some other 60s garage song which I can't place offhand. When I think of it, I'll post it.
This is a great tune! First time I heard the Pandoras was on The Enigma Variations compilation.

Hello metalheads.
Instead of a Metal rebellion i propose a new plan.
1. Don't bash other metal artists, we must unite! We cant fight against pop music if we arent even together
2. Watch more and more metal videos to get it to the top of the youtube vid list
If you like this idea, thumbs it up JUST so people can see it, and also spread it around if you like this idea
Lets show that metal kicks ass!
Copy this text in every Metalvideo you watch and we gainpower

It's the first time that I've came across this band. Is this the 1960's or have they faked it?
Remind's me of "Stepping Stone" by the Monkees

Somebody ought to post PAULA PIERCE'S last
(and greatest) effort,the still-unreleased
song "DARK NOVEMBER".
And an artist named Megan Bennett has a song
called "Rebel Heart" wherein she kind of
sounds like PAULA.
RonaldVaughan 3 years ago
This main riff sounds like the one on "Im Not Your Stepping Stone" from The Monkees, and on 2:28 it gets even more like with the similar vocals =p
Still, I liked this song a lot :)
