this is a very very good laptop i got the same model and i had it for like a year now very fast the only thing i really did not like about it was the finger prints all over it but once you clean its like brand new every time i would buy another toshiba satellite laptop

i bought a505-s6965 4 months back, have been having problems since..the USB ports stop workin if the laptop is on for a long time...the hard drive started making clicking sounds and stop working.toshiba repaired it for because it was under warranty.. it came back from repair and i dropped water on it.. the keyboard and touchpad dont work.. to replace toshiba charges 450$. otherwise its a great machine.. and Windows seven works perfect for me

well the reason why your usb ports went off is because of you bios settings, it has an option to make your usb ports go to sleep to save power.

just wait (sorry if my english is not so god, im from chile) i bought it too, and i had the same problem that you, but at 2 weeks that i upgrade to window 7, the computer turn fast again, you just have to wait and use all the programs that are more slow!;)

yeah you're right my laptop got fast after 4-5days. first i thought i did something wrong with the upgrade but it turned out that windows 7 is fast as hell.

Well, not really. If you find yourself on it for long time (making hands sweaty) you will feel it kinda sticky.

But I use it once in a while and clean it often so its not a problem at all. It sure is a fingerprint magnet though

Its not really possible to change it on a laptop. Only if its a MXM type of GPU, which this one doesn't have.

We have the same computer lol, I got mine from bestbuy.

On a side note, in a previous post that 699 computer had a smaller harddrive (320 gb), a larger screen (16.9), and a smaller graphics card.

Onto this computer; I love it. Great for gaming (nothing massive), quick processor, plenty of memory, CD-RW drive, and great speakers.

The only downside is that 6 cell battery, thats only 2 hrs of battery life (depending on what your doing).

Overall: Recommended.

Correct me if I'm wrong but there are a couple different models of this computer. I know the 779 one has the 500gb hard-drive. And I think the 699 one has a 320 gb hard drive.

I got CoD4 3 days ago and maann... It runs beautifully on this laptop. I have it on 1338x768 on Med-High settings with no lagg at all. Online game is even better...

no, its a different one. its an A505-S6966. it has 180 less gigs on hard drive and a terrible graphics card

Well, The camera isnt the best, but its great to be on a laptop. I use it con Skype and it looks awesome.

I love this computer, I installed Windows 7 and this baby rocks all the way. Its really worth the $750 bucks my friend :)

I have Medieval 2 and runs on High with no problems...

Pues incomodas la verdad no es cierto, bueno para mi no lo son. Si son Glossy, pero se limpia bien facil las huellas o cualquier manchita. Lo unico es que te tendras que acostumbrar por que tiene una forma un poco rara... Pero no hay problema para mi hehehe

It is kinda of Glossy, but it has something new because it doesn't really get your fingerprints at all. And the little it gets dirty you can wipe it off easy pie! :)
