  • It looks like infantile spasms.

  • That's really sad. Hope he doesnt get them anymore. His eyes kinda scare me tho bcuz I can tell he's tired but they are so...... Dark. Idk. I'm going crazy!

  • Maybe he's tired... I've passed out blankly multiple times at night. He looks like he trying to stay awake too... And seizures are that quick to come back? Just thoughts...

  • OMG my son does this all the time I just thought it was a night mear!!!!!! it only has ever happened at night if you see my somment please e mail me I eoulf like to know when this started and how he was dx...

  • *Better

  • Bless his heart... Hope he gets ether soon! He's a beauty! :)

  • So, long story short..... when your family and even the doctors wont listen you do just about anything to help your child even if to others it looks bad!!!!!!!!

  • When he had theses spasms it was like you gave him several bottlles of jolt cola or a bunch of two liters. He would wake and be terrfied to go back to sleep. He'd want to come downstairs or just leave his room in general. It was like he had 20 hours of sleep when in fact it was as little as an hour! His body would spasm and before we went and got an eeg it got to the point where I felt from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet spasming.

  • @nifer3470 That terrified response definitely sounds like a seizure. Certain seizures can tap the fear centers of the brain (I get that, it's awful) and give HORRIBLE nightmares. I hope he stays seizure free!

  • Shortly after that they slowed down and now its been a while since he last woke from one. Knock on wood. I still think they were and are seizures. But, these are somethings we do on a normal daily basis in hopes in preventing my sons sleep spasms. Try no rigirous activity after five. Too much stimulation seems to activate it but so does not enough stimulation. We wash his hair once a week. And I give him his vitamins at night. Some thoughts were his lactic acid?

  • For all the people who say don't video tape it I understand what your saying. But on the other hand I Do understand why these people tape it. My son has had sleep spasms as they call them since he was two. That I know of? And only after two yrs and noone listening to me. The doctor said it's normal I basically said I don't like that answer. We went to the neuro where they still concluded after an eeg and an abnormal brainwave its just a sleep spasm!!!!!

  • that's just terrible..

  • poor little guy

  • Hi, I have a 5 yr old that started doing this when she was 2/3yrs old and she has been diagnosed with Band Heterotopia which is when the white and grey brain matter do not form properly during fetal development. I always hold her when this happens to her. Her arms and legs jerk/spasm withoug her control. She normally has her seizure (diagnosed) after sleep (within the first hour) or as she is going to sleep (within the first hour of sleeping). I find that keep her on the same sleep schedule help

  • no retards you don't hold them and you do not hold there tongue because they can actually bite your finger off and if you hold them you can cause more damage so that means you are supposed to move the things around them! RETARDS

  • poor kid xx

  • help the kid and stop filming

  • @ThePopMusicKing you cannot touch a kid while its having a sezuire O.o

  • @CoolOneXD yes you can your supposed to hold their head and feet so they dont trash around as much

  • @shanimusic1 im sorry but you cant touch anyone during a seizure you can do them more harm i have proof of that will stay with me for life - i was so called supported during one and actually snapped my arm clean of my shoulder this was in a seizure in my sleep - yes it's a mistake to hold or restrain i took some time recovering from seizure due to this and took 2 years after operations and phiso to get use of my arm again and control seizures- ruined my life and lost a great job cause of it

  • i have 3 diffrent seizure dissorders. i have some where i i feel like im in a living nightmare and where is feels like i gone back to the past. and my body twitches and i stare off and i seem like a drunk man. those are just some of my symptoms.

  • God bless this boy, I will pray for him and the others.

  • My son had these when he was around the same age. His doctor put him on a ACTH shot. He took them one shot every night for I think 6 weeks and those type of seizures stopped. My son's doctor called them Petit Mal seizures.

  • @titansful ya, i have petite mal seizures. these look more like hypnagogic jerks, which is another nuerlogical issue. it is very closely tied to seizures, and is considered by some to even be a seizure. im no doctor, im just an advocate for epilepsy who has seen been around a lot of these different kinds of seizures. but im no medical opinion.

  • May God Help you! :/// This is really bad..

  • is the diaper to provent acidents during the seizure

  • hes sch a cute boy. my prayers r with him :(

  • hugz n prayerz. hang in there . i have seizures too ( complex partial seizures )

  • In my case-my niece has epilepsy-different types-I just moved to the same city and Im trying to learn as much as I can for when I have to care for her-it's not always easy to tell when she's having a seizure!! Not for an untrained Eye!! I was out shopping w/my sis and my niece -who was playing and all of a sudden my sis said she was having a seizure! I didnt see anything wrong! Till I got to learn the signs!! It helps other parents and other caregivers as well -

  • well pelly you make a good point but when your child is older what will he/she think about the video? I find that if you want to learn more about your child's seizures it is easier to simply go to a doctor. As for doctors they shouldn't be studying you tube to learn about medicine that is just insane. Doctors who learn to practice from you tube should not even attempt to help people. It shouldn't even be used to learn since some videos are faked. Im not trying to annoy u just make my point

  • @GAMESTOPxLOVER a lot of people would see something like this as an act and would never know it was a seizure. They may even punish a child for "Acting up" The only way to get awareness out there is to let people see.. Embarassing? Why? it is a medical condition that you can't control. If other people don't understand it just proves lack of knowledge.

  • @sgibbons3 if people are unsure about what their child is doing then they should consult a doctor. Seizures could be confused with night terrors they wont know and putting a video up like this could confuse the two since they are similar. Education or even slight curiosity about things should not be found on you tube since it is mainly for entertainment not awareness everything on a public online site must be taken with a grain of salt

  • A good reason to film this #1 is to show doctors who don't know what's what. A good reason to put it on YouTube is so other parents (like me) who may think their child is having sleep seizures can compare their own child's behavior. I've seen mine do this exact same thing.

  • why do u film night seizures i have frontal lobe epilepsy and it is not enjoyable its freaky and showing people this is embarassing when the kid is older i bet he will be mad about it

  • You need to grow up, it's not an embarrassing thing, ts a severs and possibly deadly medical condition, some people find comfort in knowing they're not alone!

  • Hey there buddy dont tell me to grow up ok once u experience them yourself u can tell me to grow up..... you dont remember having them and its weird meds control it which is fine but if i have them i dont like my friends and family seeing me like that..... it isnt you and its embarrassing..... so bish once u get some seizures in public and see how people react when they dont know what it is then u tell me what i should do

  • I've been having seizures or something of the like for the past year or so now. I find this actually very helpful because I can show people. It helps with descriptions to doctors. It's helpful to know that there's other people suffering the same problem. Yes, it's disconcerting having them in public, especially when I'm alone, but being able to use videos like this to help describe is a huge thing.

  • It looks like atonic seizure when he drops head..depakote, lamictal are supposed to be best for this, ask you son's doc, of course...you can see my son's myoclonic tonic clonic seizure on cdfoakley account....I haven't been able to get my son's atonic seizures on tape because they happen so quickly...they don't progress..they just suddenly present..God bless you and your son

  • was he awaqke? what type of seizure was it?

  • Looks like complex partial or head drops (Atypical) seizures.
