I go to beauty school and always have a hard time with clipper cuts. This video has really helped! I don't know if you have any clients with a fade but a video for that would be so helpful!
Tammy thank you so much for taking the time to upload all these great videos! you are a great teacher and as a new stylist i'm learning a lot from watching them. thank you!
Very good job...all your techniques are pretty sound. I might suggest that when doing clipper of comb example: when you started in the back...to hold your comb at a 45 degree angle instead of straight because it will seperate the hair better so you are never cutting thick partings which would produce lines in the hair.
Oh I'm so nervous about men's hair... My dad really wants me to cut his hair for him. Similar to this but longer on the top a bit. Any tips for a first timer?
You did a great job. My hair is very similar to your husband's hair. I'm going to have my girl master this video. 20 bucks a haircut is pushing it these days..
@calliemacnab Ha ha, that's funny. The thinning shears I used in this video are like 20 years old. I have other pairs, but I find myself always going back to these guys. I guess I'm just used to them and they do the trick for me:)
@piepiemushroom First cut the long hair with scissors, just to take off the length. It doesn't have to be perfect, just short enough so you can manage it with the clippers:)
@piepiemushroom Yes, clipper guards are faster. I used to use them when I first started doing hair and you can get a really nice haircut with the guards as well. However I do prefer now to do my clipper cuts free hand (without the guards), because I can get more control of the outcome. I can get a more tapered, gradual fade with just using my comb and clippers. Thanks for watching:)
Thank you for posting this video! I find clipped over comb to be something that's challenging to be good at. Are you finding the guide using the comb prior to clippering the next section?
You make it look so easy..I may see if my hubby will let me experiment on him. I have all the tools....You have a nice looking husband..beautiful daughter..and you are very attractive..great looking family...

I think hair is too oval shape, somewhat like a helmet (I like sharp shapes). How do you think? Besides doing a great job. Greetings from Poland :)

@hairstylist314 It just doesn't cut as well on wet hair, a little damp is ok though:)

This is the best video I have came across showing exactly how I have been attempting to cut my husbands hair.
I am a professional dog groomer, NOT hubby, but he kept insisting I try, so now 2 yrs later he is always happy, but I am very critical.
His first haircut looked like a Westie head LOL
You cleared up alot of what was causing the problems I was having, I will save this video for my next cut, Thanks.
