I'm told that as long as you are contemplating landing/takeoff or touch and go's you are in landing and takeoff phase of flight in which minimum clearances do not apply! So like sscobalt815 says "I was undertaking touch and go's!
I loved the video. Please dont take the next question as criticism --- But how can this not break FAR 91.119 C which says (c) Over other than congested areas. An altitude of 500 feet above the surface, except over open water or sparsely populated areas. In those cases, the aircraft may not be operated closer than 500 feet to any person, vessel, vehicle, or structure. " Is there something special about a seaplane that allows this?
I actually wondered about that myself. Keep in mind that I wasn't PIC, I was just along for the ride. It was fun, but it's certainly not the kind of flying that I would do myself.
Whoa..So @ 9:39 it looks like there is some kind of reverse thrust or something..?
Variable pitch or what?

Here is your excuse: " I was trying to land"- in that case, you can be closer to boats and stuff
