  • ALEXS SOLO AT 8:18 IS GREAT, HE PLAY WITH SUCH FEEL, AND HIS FACIAL EXPRESSION REALLY SHOW PASSION

  • AH, A MESS UP FROM GEDDY PEDALS, VERY ODD 6:58

  • wow, this is better than the offical released time machine dvd. geddy sound much better here. and its more livelier

  • This is so much better than an official pro shot show because it doesn't cut to a different camera angle every 2 seconds which is why I can't watch Rush in Rio. Gives me a freaking headache but this is fantastic. Thank you.

  • Geddy is singing way out of tune. Needs one of those things that retune voices on the fly. He doesn't use one now.

  • How the hell are these guys NOT in the R & R HOF? An indictment if you ask me.

  • Thank you from Me. :)

  • Alex to the rescue! Another example of how awesome he is, despite being so underated.

  • in my opinion one of alex's harder solos to pull off live but he did a good job!

  • Absolutely loved it, and nice save Alex!

  • @ZOGGYDOOB LOL I remember being there and turning to my friends and being like o SHIT who waz dat!!???

  • @ZOGGYDOOB Rush trainwrecks are fun because they are so rare. Neil started it, then geddy. Cool!!;)

  • Great work on the video footage! I also used a ZS7 to record some videos of their last show of the tour on July 2nd although I was 15 rows back.

  • I only recently became a huge Rush fan, and Camera Eye is one of the coolest tunes ever. And I just found out about Red Rocks because during a recent business trip to Colorado I visited there breifly. Anyway what a great show this must have been! I can only imagine, and hope they filmed it for a Bluray/DVD concert, so that I can see it. PS: Great quality bootleg...I can't believe how clear the picture is!

  • @psychofunksoldier02 I've heard that their show in Cleveland is going to be filmed for DVD. Not positive of this info, but a fellow viewer mentioned this on another youtube video.

  • @mystikrhythms61 The show in Cleveland was filmed on April 15th. The DVD/BluRay called "Time Machine" is in production and will be released on September 27 2011 by Concord Records.

  • i've seen this tour 4 times. this song gave me chills every show.

  • I must say as true RUSH fans we all heard the mistake, anylised it, figured it out and came to the conclusion that they are still the most amazing band in the world. LOL! The fans are equally amazing as the band!! Seeing them in in Frankfurt soon hence my emotional comment!

  • I agree. Awesome job on the footage. I had the privilege of being at the Cleveland show for the dvd recording and let me tell you, I've never heard a crowd that loud. Thanx for the post man!!

  • Not bad, not bad! The boys rock!

    Bring out your dead...lol

  • wow,, so close to the stage...

  • This is the best concert footage ever. You deserve great credit for having a great camera eye and a steady hand. You obviously knew the music too cause you pan over to the right places at the right time A+++++

  • @Bonzosbadgeholder thanks appreciate it. My camera has a fairly decent zoom which allowed me to crop the shot to give special attention to whoever deserved it, though admittedly this often caused focus problems since with these cheaper point and shoot cameras you get contrast based autofocus and its very slow. In the future I'll probably chill out a bit on that or at least not pull back so far before moving the shot.

  • They are only human... :) Great vids. Thanks for sharing. I'll be at the filming in Cleveland.

  • Thank you for the camera info. I've been looking for a nice vid camera for a while. All your video coverage is great - thanks for posting - made my day.

  • This is great footage. Best quality out there, hands down!

  • By far my favorite Rush song. It took too many years for them to play it, but it was worht the wait.

  • @25newrush

    Same here. Absolutely amazing song

  • it's sausage time!

  • GOD MAN.....IT's like beeing there

    sylvain

  • Yeah, you're right it was a Geddy brain fart.

  • Alex had the brain fart at 6:55 it wasn't Geddy but who cares they're still Rush.

  • @cwodragon nope, Al was right. The 8 bar pattern that they play starting at 6:31 is played then repeated before the "London" verse. If you count out the 16 bars you'll see Alex hits the transition perfectly and Neil goes with him though seems to bumble the fill there and the beat is a bit muddied and of course Geddy keeps his foot on the pedal keeping the keys going. Watch an example where its played perfectly (see my video of this song in Boston) the 16 bars then the verse. Al was right.

  • actually watching it again I can see where Neil blows it, he only goes for the 8 bars then does his fill early at 6:41 and transitions to the verse (hi hat pattern) then realizes his mistake and goes back to the ride. Hence his tentative transition at the end of the 8 bars and Geddy was probably used to keying off that fill.

  • @MickAv8r For God's sake! Neil "blowing" it is better than most drummers getting it right! If you go to a Rush concert to look for mistakes, you're there for the wrong reason. I waited most of my life to hear "Camera Eye" live, and I was blown away! I know that Neil is his own worst critic. If he misses something once, he'll get it right the next 50 times.

  • @mystikrhythms61 dude relax. I was merely correcting cwodragon who was blaming Lerxst. This song is incredibly complex and its the first time they've played it on tour since '83 so its only understandable that it's not as polished as the other songs.

  • @MickAv8r Indeed, a bit of a "knee jerk" reaction on my part. I've been a huge fan since the late 70's and finally being able to see them do this live was pretty much a career highlight. I've always been a bit sensitive to the many criticisms and lack of recognition that has seemed to follow Rush throughout their career. I'll try to tone it down a bit the next time... Actually, being able to notice subtle mistakes shows great appreciation for their technical ablity. Rock on friend!

  • @MickAv8r your spot on,if it wasnt for Al they would have been all lost. Neil new exactly were to come back after he hears the Rhythm guitar section. Im a bit surprised that Geddy didnt pick up on it and also come in at the correct time. Maybe cos Neil didnt repeat the fill that leads back into the Rhythm section Geddy was unsure. Its nice to know that your heroes can also make mistakes. Still an amazing show and band!!

  • my favorite most underrated rush song.

  • 8:16 pure eargasm

  • Can you tell me who is better drummer than Neil Peart in the world of music?

  • @andresihotang Nobody :D

  • Awesome capture! The Atlanta show this week was best Rush show ever for me ... Geddy's voice took a little time to completely warm up but he got there. This song was huge for me - 29 years since I last saw it live. Cheers.

  • Heard there were tech problems on Monday, and if this was one of them with the pre-rec not exiting on time... I think they handled it well. We flew up from Houston for the Wed show... excellent. We'll see them at Cynthia Woods on Sept 25th. But Red Rocks is the place to see them... or any show for that matter. Excellent vid by the way.

  • @mousearebec monday had some issues with the opening video sequence into Spirit breaking down, it looked like a power failure type thing as it took them awhile to get things 'rebooted' ie Alex's amp lights and tv screens and the same on Neil's riser - though they were able to play the show just fine. The issue in this performance was Ged's brain fart at 6:55. That wasn't a tech issue, he just got lost. He was playing the keys with his pedals.

  • @MickAv8r What are you using for the video... and the sound, we were in row 28 and it was so loud and distorted how you're able to attentuate sound and have it come out so well. Don't think they will let us take vid cams even small here in Houston according to Cynthia Woods Pav web site. And is it actually you who shot this???

  • @mousearebec I don't know of any venue that will allow video cams in. This was taken with a Panasonic ZS7. The audio is great just because this camera line (older models included ie ZS3 and ZS5) can handle the volume without clipping. It was a feature I specifically was looking for since there are some others like Canons and Sonys that shot great video but the audio sucked.

  • @MickAv8r at mohegan sun in conneticut(can't spell), we were allowed to bring camras, the thing was you wouldn't find out about it untill you drove 120 miles to get the tickets AT mohegan sun the day of the show.

  • @mousearebec I was at the Wed show too. Drove out from Memphis to see it. glad I did. Awesome band, awesome venue. Good times.

  • @jfl440 Then I assume you saw the crazy guy selling beer in the goofy outfit walking around... He's probably a regular there. I really wasn't too crazy about the sound. Loud is one thing but distorted just doesn't do service to such a great venue as Red Rocks. Wish they were going back there this summer on their continuation of the tour, but oh well, don't want to get burned out. Austin is the closest they are coming to Houston. Still have faint moments of "The Camera Eye" stuck in my head.

  • Just a gimmick to get noticed. I wasn't one of them, we were over to the side a bit from them. We were in the monkey masks though ;)

  • what was with all the dudes in the red jumpsuits????? I sat next to those dudes in the 3rd row...were you one of those Mick?

  • that is awesome quality

  • Total professionals. Nice recovery at 6:58. Didn't skip a beat.

  • @1stepy Indeed they are!!!

  • Nice job on the video Mick!! AMAZING show!! I was at both!! Enjoy seeing this again!!! Thank you!!

  • This has ALWAYS been one of my favorite Rush songs, its was worth the ticket price alone to here this song. I seriously felt the ol' hairs stand up during the Moving Pictures set...

  • HELL YEAH! Awesome footage man, I was at this show and they sounded so good that night!
