i was kinda disappointed when i rented one in florida. i have an 03 gts but wanted to see the difference between the two and it feels about the same. the 265 hp is masked by all the extra weight so it felt no faster. only difference was alot of creature comforts. but if you want one its cool but for me i find no reason to make a new car payment if it feels the same as my current eclipse

Heard this car was a pain in the ass. You have to take the entire intake manifold off just to change the spark plugs -_- A bunch of other little things too. Mitsubishi made this car to annoy people who'd buy it. Also this car seems girly, specially the spyder. I'd rather just get a WRX if I were to buy an import. The new ones are amazing, and the new STI is faster than the evo.

I LOVE HOW PEOPLE COMPARE THIS TO THE 370Z! The Z IS a NEW GEN! This eclipse is from 2006 and about to change. I Dare you to compare the ugly ass Z to something called CONCEPT RA. Which could be the next Eclipse. You can't, because the Z does not even compare to the technology in it. Which is the same technology on the Evo. Turbo charged, super all wheel drive, Light weight, TC SST Transmittion.

@valenzuelatomas1989 Um yes? Firstly, the mustang GT is not in this price range. And that is why we have something called an EVO. Which can put every single car you mentioned to shame. The camaro is RECENTLY NEW, not since 2005 like this baby right here. The mazdaspeed 3 does not stand a chance against this car. I've raced a couple. Even on paper dude. 5.9 sec 0-8 and this car can do it in 5.4. Sooo you were saying? Genesis coupe is ALSO recently new.

Second of all all the cars i mention to you are faster to 60 pmh than your eclipse, Mustang v6 5.1 seconds, Camaro 5.4 seconds, genesis coupe 5.3 seconds and mazdaspeed 3 5.5 seconds. For your information the eclipse time is 5.8 seconds. And finally the prices, the mustang and camaro starts at 23k, the mazdasspeed 3 at 24k and the genesis coupe v6 at 26k......so even the new genesis coupe rape your eclipse, trust me.

@valenzuelatomas1989 This car was supposed to be changed this year. But it wasnt, because their sales are picking up so they decided to leave it for another year. Have you looked at the Concept RA? If your gonna compare anything to this car in its PRICE RANGE. Go back to when the car was released. Dont pull something that JUST came out on the market.

@valenzuelatomas1989 I'l give you some contenders. Rx8, slower and more expensive. 305z 2004 release, Slower in slalom, slower around the track, faster but only because of a 45HP+ output. AND more expensive. Give me a car from 2005 in this price range that was better, faster. Wont find one

@valenzuelatomas1989 lol dudem, the car came out in 05. Its an 06 version. Its not faster. where do you get those facts? I have proof from paper and experience. The eclipse throws its HP and Torque faster than the 3 speed and does its 0-60 in less time. Quarter mile is faster too. Its handeling is better and stopping power. Do some research man. And its 4K cheaper because it doesent have the same features such as the 650 watt system, heated leather seats. Backup camera.

@Cloudstrife1188 The mazdaspeed time was 5.5 seconds to 60 miles per hour, you eclipse is 5.8.....dude just read some reviews of your car, you can go to motor trend, car & driver, any magazine and they all agree this car sucks. There are better and faster cars than this in that price range. You said is more stylish right? well it might be, but for that you get a heavy car with a awful v6 engine.....maybe the next generation will be better, lighter and faster, but also more expensive..

@valenzuelatomas1989 lol and show me where youve seen the 3 speed do 5.5 O.o everywhere i look it says the least is 5.8 - 6.2. Eclipse GT on the other hand is 5.4 - 6.1 which is hence why i said its hard to put the power down. But when you do, you easily get that 5.4 Wider tires and better grip gives you a better time. the 3 speed is 3000 pounds and has the same power, even more torque. 600 pounds LESS! and still slower. Would never consider it a sports car.

They also tested a eclipse and tooke them 5.8 seconds......dude be realistic for 25k you get a mazdaspeed 3 with performace and good options, a stero with 10 speakers, gps navigation and all that... the eclipse is just more expensive and it doesn't deliver better performance....

Black, EBC Brakes, ripp mods supercharger. Your wrong dude, the 3 speed is not capable of beating the eclipse. And its 600 pounds lighter.

Look up any 0-60 times here on youtube from regular people and you will see that they can do it in as little as 5 secs. Look up races and youll see. From ameature people themselves. If mitsu does their shit right, They will pull off the concept RA like all eclipse buyers want. I dont like FWD cars, i bought this one because of the power it cant put down on the ground. But i've

I want to see any mustang GT, any camaro, anything in the 30 grand, 40 grand, all the way upto 70 grand try and touch me in a drag race. 0-60 is 3.8 Seconds. Im gonna posts some videos up soon.

I test drove a 2008 Eclipse GT about a month ago and really enjoyed it. I'm 6'4" and had plenty of headroom and knee room. The steering is very responsive, but I didn't like the automatic transmission. It shifted rough and it didn't down-shift very well. Anyway, I decided to save up my money after test driving the new Hyundai Genesis coupe. Everything about that car was superior to the Eclipse. I will just have to wait about two years to afford a new Genesis coupe.

The car looks great, but they really should bring back the AWD option. A RWD option would be interesting but I'm sure that would never happen.

@Tanner874 yeah, for some reason mitsu dont do rwd, the eclipse, fto and 3000gt coulve been rwd, but they were offered in fwd most of the time

I have read a lot of comments of people who dislike this car but as a fan and owner of eclipse I must deny them, this car looks great.Maybe adding some more power (HP) would be adequate but I think the model is totally out of this hemisphere and eclipse is evolving in good direction.
