That comment wasn't meant to be a bash on the kids, I think it's great that they're making music. It was a critique of the scene which has hyped them so excessively.

This is why I hate hipsters. In an effort to find the most obscure, latest 'art rock', they've turned to children. Purely from an originality & skill stand point, they've got a ways to go. And that's okay, they're kids. Give them time, and they'll probably be great. But thrust into the hype of an elitist league of 'anti-conformist cavaliers' with their skinny jeans and rebellious political rock at such a young age, who knows. They may just end up being pretentious brats.

Normally I'd agree - but (IMO) they're actually quite good . . . certainly better than 98% of the adult bands around today. As for "originality & skill" that's EXACTLY what people used to say about the Ramones (though you may not like the Ramones - fair enough). But I agree - I COULD see them becoming pretentious brats; let's hope not.
