hey i just snorkeled mine and i got dang water in my rear end and in my antifreeze cause i didnt run the vent line for the antifreeze but the rearend idk why i got it in there man but what should i do for the antifreeze radeitor? drain it or what?? and whats the best kinda silicon to use??
what hose in your air box an wat drain hose in front of the motor i have a 2011 420 rancher 4x4 an an i have 4 hoses an thats it on my snorkel i put 4 brass hose taps on my side pvc pipe but i didnt see them hoses u r talking about
all i did was got six foot of 1 1/2 flex hose and snorkeled it the same way i also got a fermco and cut holes in it where i can run all of my holes into and siliconed it worked just as good and cheaper
changing an electric shift to a manual, if it is possible you would have to change at-least the front crank case and the left side mud guard, foot peg area and install the linkages.
@TheKILLSHOT24 what i did was run my snorkel all the way to the front, then when in the front ran it under the handle bar plastic the sits behind the moniter that displays the MPH. hope that helps
@TheKILLSHOT24 all of the electric shifts have a space for a foot shifter to go. its in case the electric goes out. it would be in the same place as it would on any manual fourwheeler
my 420 was 2 wheel drive i put 40 pound of air in the front tires and no snorkle when it would sink i would push it out and it would start right back up
To all with honda's, make sure you not only snorkel it, but if you look thru the rearend of your honda. looking at the back of the motor there is a rope pull start in the back! remove this and cover it with a peice of like plexi glass or some type of cover. A lot of poeple aren't aware of this and it will suck water up very quick!
@hardinbeachriders all new hondas have an auto shut off if the water presure is equal to the presure of the exsast going out of the pipe it happens to my brothers rincon all the time its nothing wrong.
@hardinbeachriders there are vent lines you have to run also. im not sure where they are on a fuel injected atv. but you also need to run your differentials. i bet theyre packed with mud.
ive never built one for a 300 before and it depends on how you want it but the bare essentials are pvc pipe, glue, and whatever elbows and connectors you might need
when you snorkel you disrupt the fuel to air ratio and depending on the machine you could have to rejet you carb to get it right, if you havent already you could go to the Highlifter Forum, find the honda section and search to see if they have anything posted on jet size for your bike, if they dont you can start another thread and check back frequently for replies. hope this helps
yea man i got a ? on a 350 rancher canit be built the same way you built yours? and bout how much will it cost for the materials if you dont mind me askin? thanx
A 10ft stick of 1 1/2 in pvc at home depot was around 5-8 bucks the different connectors were between $0.30 - $1 a piece. the reason I went to home depot was they were cheaper than Tractor Supply by 2-3 bucks a piece on the connectors. my breather hoses and vacuum lines I got from Autozone for $1 per foot. You may have to tweak the jets or the size of the intake on the snorkel with tape or maybe a reducer. I hope this helps
Hey I have a little 150cc Japanese ATV. I know its crap and all but I snorkeled it just from the air intake up through the front of my atv. Is that all I have to do or ?? Cause a friend told me I also have to do something with the vents or something..please help me..Im going quading next week and want this thing to work. Check out my Snorkel video..
Question. im pickin up a K&N air filter for my 2008 rancher, and i was wondering, can i eliminate my air box completley and mount the filter on top of the snorkel??
@movindirt81 someone told me theres a type of bag or somethin you can get to cover them that keeps em clean and dry but doesnt restrict air flow. not sure what its made out of, il try and find out more about em tho
Nice job on that. Anyone know why I have to spray starter fluid in my air box on my 2002 Honda rancher everytime I need to start it. Runs fine after it starts.
if I were to guess you got water in you carb bowl but you can probably got to highlifters website and check the forum you'll probably find what you need and if you dont post a question on the forum
alot of people remove their fuel shutoff knob, I didnt because we usually ride for hours and I need my reserve. if you never plan on goin deep enough you could make a stealth snorkel and run it up near you steering shaft behind your instrument panel
I'd say that's the most in depth video I have found on YouTube snorkeling a 420, I think you covered it very well. 2 things to add. I believe the hose at the bottom right side of the engine is intended as a weep hole "Drain" for the water pump, I don't think its the crank case vent. Its a good Idea to plug it anyway if your getting into some deep stuff, but it may not be as vital as the other hose's. 2nd, The crank case venting should be the hose that runs into the air box, I think :-)
hwy man thats the carburator drain you puy the bolt in but that hose running in the air box is the crank case hose.. you sound like me and not wanna go too deep so i would run that hose that the goes into the air box up in between my handlebars so you dont take a achance cause if you do accidentally get water there its $1500.. i paid it once but all you do is take water hose or just any big hose and put a hose clamp an it where it comes out ou the motor.. maybe 5 bucks instead of $1500..
how do you stop water from getting in your flud hose

honda6442 2 years ago
yep, just dont forget your vent lines and its a heck of a lot cheaper than buying it from a snorkel builder

That hose below your gas tank is your fuel/carburator overflow. Where is your carb vent line?
jdshaq 2 years ago
Rancher 420's are fuel injected and do not have an overflow. That hose comes from the electric fan motor.

some of the 4-wheelers i see have snorkels on the back do you have to do that for this 4-wheeler or just some others
