that "waaaah" noise you get after you release the plate, is that from your table itself? or can you get that noise (effect) on the torq itself while using a Xponent controller?? i really wunna get that noise,.
yO! I have an old school IBM laptop with an Intel Pentium III processor, 497mhz, and 512mb ram. Will that do!!?? I'm planning on upgrading in the future but for now this is all I got.
Hey how did you exactly connected with the mixer? I have also attached and knows not how to get it right and connects with the preferences? can you tell me?
connect both decks to the connectiv audio card inputs (deck1 into input1-2 and deck2 into input2-4) and then the connectiv outputs to the line inputs of your mixer (output1-2 to lineinput1-2 and output 3-4 to lineinput3-4). Check the manual or ask in the torq forums.
queria pillarme el torq porque el serato es muy caro veo que funciona bien asi y parece que va a tiempo real con poca latencia pero bueno tambien dependera del pc como ira en un portatil a 1,73ghz y 2gb de ram ?
i want to ask , do you think APPLE MAC BOOK 1.83GHZ INTEL CORE 2 DUO can suites torq ?? ( i mean is it stable whil using it ) cuz im planing to get 1 recently .. just not sure wil torq suite that laptop
you connect the connectiv interfeace to both channels of the mixer, so it's the same than with a normal turntables setup, anyway you can use the headphones via the connectiv interface that has the posibility to split both channels into your headphones.
Question: How old is the notebook you're using? Can you tell me the processor? I have a old Toshiba Tecra with a P2 processor that I'm rebuilding and I'm wondering if Torq will work on it? Thanks!
I've just bought torq, so I'm testing it deeper. No hangs or lags with my PB g4 12''.
But..a little sticker lag when using relative mode. When scratching it's no so noticeable, but a more when you're juggling. I'll have to download the latest version and ask M-Audio if the sticker lag still occurs.
TORQ is definitely off the hook! I did a 2 hour set last night playing the best of hip hop - yes! souls of mischief included!. Had the torq, turntables and MPD24...no lagging, no problems! nothing! Scratching becomes more interesting with TORQ! Functions are limitless :)- WICKED!
If you whath carefully the bottom-right corner of the video you'll see the sound card I'm using. Of course is M-Audio Conectiv, because I didn't mention I was using any other card. I think that Torq only runs if Conectiv is Plugged, so I think It won't work with a different sound card.
so in each transition you get a 0 speed caused by acceleration (positive and negative) so the program may miss some marks when velocity is in a range close to zero (due to volume or amount of time between read marks)
Then I think that this sticker drift exists, and the more you skratch the more is beeing shifted, and i think this is due to changing directions movement...in each baby there are 2 transitions in the direction (forward-backward and backward-forward)
In another video that I recorded about drags, I did them very slow so I noticed that sticker drift, when the record is moved very slowly the software doesn't detect the movement (people say its a volume problem, but I think it's a problem about acquiring "timecode marks" and the distance between them (the slower you move the later is acquired/read the next "mark", so if moving too slow I think the software ignores the marks))...
Quick question, I just picked up Torq, and not sure how to go about getting back to scratching, all my breakbeat stuff with the "fresh" etc... sounds is on traditional vinyl, so did you have to download effects or something?
You'll have to rip/record your vinyls (or download samples from the internet), but this is quite easy and you got conectiv to do it.
Download Audacity (it's free and open) or use any other recording software you know, connect your mixer output to a conectiv input and set that conectiv's channel (in) in the audacity preferences for recording device.
Anyway there's a quickskratch function in this software that allows you to have your scratch samples loaded in a "different track" so you can access them quite fast.
This notebook is about 4-5 years old, and has only 480mb ram (32mb are shared for the video ram, the video card is quite a fool), and processor is amd XP 1600 (i think it works at 800-1000mhz speed).
It works perfectly, i've never noticed a click or lag, though i haven´t used it a lot coz it isn´t mine but i have no argues from anybody on this software. I never thought it would run so well (i cannot notice any latency, so i supose is quite low).
thanks seems good enough found it for $100 used keep me content till I get a Rane ttm 57sl
