  • He'll never be able to dunk now!

  • They have LARGER, LONGER size caskets smh, either pay the difference or cremate them

  • Christ almighty....

  • God this made me freaking sick to my stomach.

  • This is just plain horrible. I am a funeral director and what that man did is morally irresponsible. Nowhere in any books, or anywhere we were taught, is severing the legs an answer. His license should be revoked. The owners license should be revoked. Both of them should be put in jail. I cant even believe he would think of this. One simple call could have been placed and the right size casket would have been delivered.

  • THIS IS JUST SO FUCKING HORRIBLE!!!!. SERIOUSLY!!!!!.

  • the guy was dead, hell he got put in a casket 3x more costly than he would have ever been able to pay for. damn what joke

  • The funeral home deceived the widow in thinking the casket was larger enough to handle him she even asked to make sure....it does matter... let one of your love ones get mistreated or disrespected in death ....you would never appreciate that

  • what a joke.....well mark if they had not done this he would have been put in a cardboard box. grow up. you live you die then you have a date with worms.

  • Who fucking cares, he's not complaining.

  • what is the big deal hell if he had been poor the county would have throwed him in a burning fire and all that would have been left is ashes.....dang people what is the big deal

  • @m988022 It IS a big deal. Not only did the funeral home mistreat the man's body, the amount of disrespect paid to him and his family is huge. You wouldn't appreciate it if it happened to one of your family members.

  • he's going to decompose anyway, he's dead, he's not going to miss them

  • I have a friend who is a funeral director. He says many times families with oversized relatives do not want to pay for a larger size casket because the larger ones cost more. Then the family gets angry when the deceased looks squished in a standard size casket. There is no way a man 6'5'' tall could fit in a standard sized casket and they didn't want to pay for a larger size. The funeral home just did the best they could. This woman just wants lawsuit money!

  • @IstvanN1961 he did it without permission thats wher you sue he should have notifyed them

  • i doubt the corpse cared

  • don't see the big deal.........and i would say the family said give us the cheap short one

  • We are Christians so we must forgive them. Once someone is dead it has no life become like wood. It does not matter if they cut the leg.

  • @ynos777 It's like an old car someones dead grandpa gave them. It doesn't even need to work for that matter, it could be broken. It has no life, all it is, is a useless piece of scrap metal. But, if a movie company was moving it into a garage in a new home and the garage was too small, it's extremely unreasonable if they cut it in half just so it could fit, with out asking the owner.

  • see that bogets would you not have no fucking legs think dum ass bitches

  • the famiy picked out the casket.........they should have got a long one

  • @m988022

Pay more attention to the video. The employees made them think the casket was big enough. It's not like the family shoved the body in there to test the size.

And are you actually trying to make excuses for the people that sawed off the corpse's legs?!

  • disgusting

  • ummm couldnt they just remake the casket to fit??? dumbasses

  • @MeefTool naaw that would be the easy way to fix the problem ....

  • damn they should have meshured him one of my neighbours who died [also of cancer]he was a big guy well over 6ft maybe 6 ft 5 or 6ft 6 and i heard pepole say he looked beautiful in the end and his coffin fitted him perfectly with a tiny bit of space the funarel home in thise video were lazy that poor man

  • Instead of ordering a casket to fit the height of this man they just cut his legs.... I would kick their ass and sue them......

  • Whats the bid deal?He wasn't gonna walk anymore anyway....doh!

  • That is not right. I am so surprised his wife was calm about the whole situation. I can't believe a funeral home would be so callous as to do something like that.

  • no respect for the deceased at all . smh

  • Damn how the hell can you do that to someones family member much less a minister that probably brought business to your funeral home??? My Grandfather was 6foot 6inches and we didnt have to buy any special casket for him. His was half couch but stillI was there just after the placement of his body before the lowe half of his casket was closed. Somebody just F'd up. I've heard of clipping the Achilles Tendon in extreme cases but thats just for a few extra inches. and not noticeable at all...

  • The Dumb fucks should have just broke em and bent them backwards.LOL

  • unbelievable what idiots

  • Everyone watching this video and reading the comments, for the sake of yourself and your loved ones, please do research on local crematoriums and funeral homes in your area BEFORE something happens 2 u. You can buy caskets and urns online for much cheaper than what the funeral home sells and in 99% of cases, there is no need to be embalmed if you do not wish to do so. There are no restrictions on sprinkling ashes (except in Cali). Know your rights as a consumer and keep a living will.

  • @liarsclub75 Do you know what you are talking about? You do not. Because 1 dumbass makes a mistake, does it make us all bad. I am a licensed director & very competent embalmer for 35 years. There are ways to handle these issues. The products from online are inferior by miles. People like yourself have no clue as to what it takes to run a mortuary nor could you do what we do. You smartass, should go to mortuary school & learn what we really do. You are right about the big companies

  • Horrible. I remember this story when it happened. The funeral industry is pretty shady, profiting off of people's grief as it is.

  • @liarsclub75 I'm offended that you'd say the funeral industry profits off of peoples grief... I'm a mortuary student and I see my education as going toward helping people find closure. I think you need to actually research before casting an opinion of an entire industry just because one funeral home did something awful. Hell, I could say stuff about any industry if I complained every time someone messed something up.

  • @ZombieFuhrer There are people like yourself that truly want to help the grieving, but if you do some research, you will find that the funeral industry has been monopolized by 3 huge companies that only care about turning a profit. If and when you go get I job in this industry, try to get one for a funeral home that is owned by a caring family (small business) or open one of your own. Hopefully there will will be more ppl like you who can make a positive change.

  • @liarsclub75 well someone has to do the job, were not all tough enought to bury our own loved ones and prepare their bodies for public viewing. Not really shady at all

  • @regg073 You sound very uneducated about the funeral industry. They ARE shady and their main objective is to sell over priced caskets and services that people do not need. If you must use a funeral home, go with a family owned business that is not owned by the big 3 conglomerates who have ruined this one honorable serive.

  • @liarsclub75 well in a business u have to get a profit, and since u are so educated about the funeral industry do u knwo the cost of these goods and services that the funeral owners have to pay? Caskets, cars, and procedures used in funerals arent cheap, guess u know that tho right? Overpriced or not, the average funeral costs are about $6000. And thats universal, so deal with it, o wise one

  • I wonder what the nuts did with his legs???????

  • if that aint regotdamndiculous i dont know what is

  • That is the ugliest funeral home I've ever seen in my entire life!

  • Oversized caskets are generally wider, not taller. His legs should have been bent at the knees and crossed at the ankles during the embalming procedure (as to firm them up in said position) so that the length of the casket would accommodate his remains comfortably.

  • @jcwoodstl Exactly right.

  • Awwww that's horible

  • Just when I thought I seen it all...If that was my fckn father someones legs would be cut off n shoved up something...Unacceptable....Seriously,could you imagine if that was done to your family member? I also can't believe they remain open.I would never go them or an affiliate of theres. and to the family;;;I hope you sue them for all they have...There is simply no excuse for this and companies like this probably say "Who's going to know?"

  • OMG dat wuz my kuzin uncle OMG

well itz nt Cave funeral home any more Martin n Martin took ova

  • Hope someone does the same to the funeral workers when they die

  • That is horrible. Funeral homes do sell oversized caskets that could have fit him.....

The place should be put out of business.

  • @12345vjd they did'nt want to go through the cost of ordering one to fit when they wanted to sell one of theirs

  • legs shmlegs

  • My grandfather passed away in the hospital so there was no need for a autopsy so that means no cuts.He was around 400 pounds but at the funeral he had no large stomach and family that hadn't seen him in years said "he lost a lot of weight didn't he" and as a grand son that lived with him they asked me. I said ah he lost some so It would still go smooth but they altered his body. I hope they creamated all that fat but I've seen sketchy stuff laying by the dumpsters after the homeless went threwit

  • i think thats kool cause im gana b a forensic pathologiest...(a.k.a0 medical examiner 4 the dead sooo kool lol

  • @hjmuffins right sure u r and i leaned to fly when my rocket ship ducked on mars

  • morons , should have cremated the corpse .

  • @sewagedweller that too is against the law, since the family did not ask for it

  • that's fucked up, it says to me that the funeral home is too cheap to properly prepare a dead body.

  • who cares. when a person is dead, they're dead. i don't understand why people would spend so much money on the dead. there's life and then death. theres no coming back . its not like if you don't spend any money for a funeral the person's spirit is just gonna wander around aimlessly

  • @mmcclain88 A funeral is not for the deceased but for the relatives and friends of the deceased. It is a means of closure for them. A burial or cremation is a way of letting go of them. You'd find it hard to rest knowing your loved-one's remains are lay on a cold slab at a mortuary somewhere because you don't want to pay for a funeral.

  • @mmcclain88 well i hope when u die they throw u into a volcano then

  • It would have made more sense to cut a hole in the end of the casket...so his feet would come out.

  • holy shish, how cruel ca people be?i would scae those bunch of bastard as a ghost and make them kill themselves.BASTARDS

  • You dogs.....hope the man upstairs has a special place for you pricks

  • it is unbelievable that they would do that without consulting the family first, but they do that all the time to fit people who are tall. they make caskets for people who are tall but they usually only do that for if the are going to have a viewing and a cremation. the can't extend the length of the burial site just because the person is tall. they used to do this all the time with out asking the familys', but they should be asking them that is disrespectful to not ask.

  • They be doing some crazy shit at funeral homes, it's unbelievable!

  • fucked up. arent their special caskets to suit a persons needs.?fat, tall?

  • OMG.... that's eff'n sick. What the hell is wrong with people?!?!?

  • Eww, that is like so disgusting. Have respect for that corpse! At least build a longer coffin for that deceased. Cheap ass Employee! I hope that person gets thier legs cut hwen he/she someday dies.

  • That is un-fucking believable! Worthless bunch of bastards.

  • but hwen they cut the legs off what about the fluid they replace the blood with wouldnt that leak through?

  • wtf thats not true my daddy was 6"9 and he had a castket that was long enough for him to fit in and he actually looked peaceful in it cost a pretty penny but it was worth every cent.

  • My brother was to tall for a standard casket. The undertaker we had at that time ordered one that would fit him.

Why wasn't the family told about this. I've since learned you can order your own caskets online for much less than what is charged by the funeral homes.

  • You may be able to, however, you will not be able to buy them from Batesville...at least not directly b/c they will only sell to funeral homes. You get what you pay for...and we make most people sign a disclaimer if they choose to use their own unit. We did a funeral last year where a family bought a unit off line and the hinge on the lid broke when I opened the casket. I had to stand there and hold the casket open while people walked around to view...u get what you pay for...

  • We all know the funeral homes make a bundle off of us at one of the worst times in our lives. The caskets aren't cheap but they certainly don't cost what the funeral homes charge. Many people I know have brought them and had no trouble with them at all. They were good strong sturdy caskets. I'm sure the funeral directors probably purchase them the same way we do.

If there is a problem with the funeral homes getting what the client needs the client needs to know there are other alternatives.

  • Actually, the mark-up on caskets are quite low. Caskets are expensive, the funeral home doesn't make much money off them at all.

  • Funeral homes make their money on the services that they provide. Caskets, chemicals, storage, compliance with ever changing health and safety procedure leads to HUGE overhead for the tangible part of the business.

  • @thegirl44

Totally unethical. Shouldn't be in business if they can't sustain proper services.

  • @canadacub

Absolutely agreed, my fellow ice hippie, this is beyond wrong, not to mention cruel and offensive to the family. My comment was in response to someone who said that funeral homes make money off of caskets which is not the case, caskets being the biggest overhead in funeral home operation.

  • what an idiot...they should strip his license indefinetely and put the funeral home license on a long probation. i've buried men that tall. the beds of caskets can be lowered, then the legs can be bent at the knees. it only takes a little for the person to fit. if that fails, get them a custom casket.

  • is this a joke? that is extremely wrong on so many different levels..how the hell is a person gonna do a thing like that, especially without permission from the family? I dont work at a funeral home and I never will, but isnt that illegal? I would sue them and put them out of business for good.

  • I knew a man in a traffic accident and was thrown out of funeral home!

  • I know a funeral home that throws you out if another family members owes money!

  • um...yeah it is. It may not be exactly the way it was when for inistance when they cut michael jacksons brain out they bury the brain with him. If they cut you open they sew you up. Then they put an outfit on you, otherwise they wouldnt be able to have body viewings....and usually they are done after the autopsy...

  • I just want to say, after an autopsy, the body's remains are put in a plastic bag. To be exact, a garbage bag. Nothing is put back inplace accept the skull.

  • For the record, the viscera (organs) are placed in a RED Bio hazard bag, and they are handed over to the funeral home with the remains. You were correct in saying that the skull is put back, and so is the breast plate. Organs must be buried with the body...even if it means treating them (with cavity fluid) and placing them at the foot of the casket. By the way, I'm an intern director/embalmer....feel free to ask questions.

  • For the record here, I'm employed at a funeral home while I go to Gupton-Jones, in Decatur. So I know what has been done as well and there wasn't a bio-hazard bag used! Thank you for letting me ask questions.

  • I can concur this statement.

  • i was an apprentice also. we always treated the viscera and put it back into the body, so the abdomen wouldnt be "sunk" in

  • my nana died 3 months ago and did not have an autopsy but she had some kind of plastic wrapped around her legs, below the waist. what is that and why was it there? we didnt see it,it was under the dress she was wearing . the lower half of her casket was closed.

  • Hey,

What you saw (or felt) were Union-alls, which are clear plastic pants used to prevent the leakage of fluid onto the person's clothing or the lining of the casket. Leakage is common...and it can come from a number of sources. Mainly, I'll use them in cases where the person has excess water in their tissue - also called EDEMA. Remember, skin tissue is porous...and when a person i lying down, gravity tends to take over...therefore, having an effect on fluids as well. Hope this helps...

  • they put plastic under the clothes on the body to prevent leakage.

  • it to make her body me stable in the casked so they dont flop around

  • not a garbage bag

  • the whole point in non cremation is to leave the body in a whole...is the person who did that stupid or something?

  • Fox News is #1 If you don't believe me,Look it up for yourself!

  • Cut to fit ohh deary me.

  • This is wrong and the family should sue the pants on them. I know I sure as hell would.

  • Pants, I get it.

  • try making a bigger coffin you fuckin disrespectful twats

  • for his 6'5 frame, they should be able to find a casket, cutting the body parts is never ok, period.

  • Of course other funeral homes did a lot worse like sell body parts. Remember Alister Cook? You know Masterpiece Theatre. SO THIS IS NOTHING.

  • It's a dead body. DEAD! CORPSE! FOOD FOR WORMS! What's the big deal. Want to resurrect him as a zombie or something??? Are they into voodoo??

  • It's that they didn't have permission to do so.

  • The body was a loved one! How would you feel if a funeral home did something like that to someone you loved without your permission?!

  • I would sue them for all the money they had, because that is wrong

  • Same, and I hope WinterHaven chokes and dies

  • 646-552-3963

    Text me :D

I'll give you special photos if you text me the phrase

    "Stupid cunt."

  • WHAT THA FACK?? cut the legs?? hell no..

  • OMG!

That's messed up. The people at the funeral home SHOULD NOT have done that.

But I don't think it should have been shut down permanently, they should have just had to pay a fine and give the deceased man's family their money back.

  • Sure, I don't care.

  • he's dead- so what-

  • why does it matter, he's dead, it's not like he's gonna use those legs again. the whole body will end up in the ground anyway.

  • Thanks for your compassion chatpopstar. Let's hope that the funeral home that handles you chops your body up to "make it fit". Relatives have endure enough pain during the whole burial process, so now we have to worry if our loved ones bodies were treated like a lasagna!

  • I wouldn't mind if they just burn my body and save unnecessary cemetery space.

  • EXACTLY!!

  • But just think your mum or dad or anyone your close to dies. And after their funeral you find out that an employee of the place cuts your loved ones legs or any other part. My mums dead, if they did that I would be disgusted and cry my knob off!

  • Gosh that's crazy

  • When selecting a funeral home, please make sure they don't cut corners.

  • I'm sorry for laughing so hard.

  • Who cares, he is fucking dead, just cut him up in pieces and bury in a hole. done

  • If they thought it was ok to cut off his legs why not cut off his Head and Put that in his hands? I guess they knew cutting off the legs was just as bad. They prob paid more for the extra tall casket. And the funeral home decided to make a few quick bucks and just CUT them a new deal. Sad how humanity has slid so far from doing the right thing. Always for the sake of the buck.

  • who gives a fuck

  • Why would u do that? they shouldve got a bigger casket or atleast i they didnt have the rite size send it to another funeral home where thety would fit and just not do that but they atleast shouldve got the permission from the family, them idiots

  • hmmm, couldn't they of just ordered the right size casket? Then all of this wouldn't of happened. Tha'ts terrible on the part of Cave Funeral Home.

  • Odd story.

You drain the blood from a corpse and replace it with carcinogenic preservatives, puncture/drain all of the internal organs with a 2' vacuum needle, and then paint the corpse to make it look alive. But cutting the feet off is too far?

  • THANK YOU! I mean it certainly was unethical on the funeral home's part, but families are just as content viewing a corpse who has cotton up its every orifice and sutures going through the jaws keeping the mouth shut...

  • what the hell!! ppl have no shame hahahaha!

  • Horrible

  • what!! isn't that desicration of a body?
