Hey can someone help me. I just had my windows tinted professionally. The back window as a 2" hair behind the film. Is there any way I can remove this or make it less noticeable? The tint has bubbled around the hair.
@megafast13 Take it back to the shop that installed it and point it out. If they are worth a crap they will completely remove and reinstall it for you.
i got a question if somebody can please help..on a 1997 chevy cavalier can the back window be tinted in one piece or does it have to be put on in strips?
If you do it yourself , about 50 bucks . By the time you buy the kit and more tint than you need . And it takes a lil while I guess for the water to dry and the glue to bind with the glass . I did that on my driver side and it made it start to peel about two days later . And It kind of pissed me off because it took me like 30 min to do one piece of glass . Its not that hard once you get the way it works . But if its your first time , GET MORE TINT THAN YOU NEED BECAUSE YOU WILL MESS UP .
@DemEazy once you get how to do it , it is easy . Im about to tint my other windows in the next few days , if you want add me and I will post a vid to show you how I do it .
@kummyk ....I use baby shampoo. It doesn't have the degreasers that are in your typical dishwashing liquids that can ruin the adhesive on the tint itself. Normally a couple of teaspoons of baby shampoo to 1 qt of water (preferably distilled) would do just fine.
Good work on the tinting and excellent vid. I've just been outside measuring the window on my A4 (in Ireland). How much does it cost you to buy a box of SunTek for the rear window? and another for the side windows? There doesn't seem to be any importers of Suntek in Ireland so I think it'll be a job for Batman (me).
Well, it really depends on car, some cars have easy rear window, some have easy side windows. Over all, if you are going to tint car, you just have to tint it all:)
@CZUndead I just went to tinting my car, the sides are ok, the rear had blurry areas that are very annoying when driving, will they go away? it seems like the glue didnt set well
@sunnyjason, its hard to say, depends what happened, as if you do it right, it should be really ok without any blurry areas or bubbles, I think problem might be in shaping the film before application. It has to be shaped well so it will fit a glass perfectly, but like I said, if it wont go off within 1 day it wont go off at all. as if its like bubbles containing air it will just remain there.
@sunnyjason ...thats normal on most tint jobs. The "milky" look goes away over time. The best way I get rid of the milky look is to let the car sit in the sun as much as possible. Thats just the film curing process. The cooler it is outside the longer it will take for it to go away. Either way....it will go away over time.
I am tinting for about 5 years, here in bloody Czech Republic, also using SunTek HP as I think its really best after I was using 3M. SunTek really fits me best, no warranty returns and also I think its best to work with - personal opinion. About time, car takes from 40min to 3hours, really depends what car it is. So keep up nice job Denver, when I come to USA I'll go and tint one car for you. Free of charge of course:)
Well, I had few meters of Johnson, it was good, but I never made more then 3 -4 cars from that, I only remeber it was more soft then suntek, ment when i was shrinking back window, overall I think they are pretty equal, I use SUntek becouse I know I can guarantee "Stupid resistant" how I say:) I barely have any return, mostly becouse people just scratch it with bikes and snowboards and such stuff.
@CZUndead haha i hear ya, i agree with you, once you get to a certain grade of anything its just a game of favorites, haven't used suntek i'll have to look into it
Not trying to hate, just wondering why you peel the rear window tint on the glass itself and not use a glass board and roll that sucker in? Seems to me there would be a lot of creases and dirt in the finished product with all that shaking of the film. No shaved top edge?
I've been tinting for 18 years and used most brands available. My current film and the one I've been using is Suntek. I've used their HP product for 9 years and had two warranty returns. If you average that out at around 1000 to 1400 cars a year that's loads of satisfied customers.
That is so amazing. I'm learning how to tint windows and such and are there any tips with the profession? And what brand of window tint is the best for a reasonable amount of money?
the best way to tint on the dot matrix is to slightly sand it down with some wet and dry paper and use just water without soap and the tint sticks a lot better without the bubble mark all the way round
i gotta 99 camry..you can see it on my channels..and i want a professional to do my next tint job and i was just wondering how much you would charge for like a 4 door sedan doing all the windows except the windshield at 5% with the same brand tint you are using in this vid?
@daredevlz Window tinting is a very lucrative business. If you have the time, you can make 6 figures in a year easily. I started out making 40g just as a worker in a tint shop. Now that I have the time....I am starting my own business soon. If you've never tinted before it can be difficult. I recommend getting DVD training or actually working in a tint shop to get HANDS ON training. I learned the expensive way....TRIAL AND ERROR but it made me the tinter I am now. I have no regrets.
i think you done an allsome job bro look at that WOW we i would be happy to pay you for your work. i have a few question's for ya how long did that car take to tint from start till finish and how much did you charge for that job. if the customer ask's for a tint level that's not legal will you still tint there car?
@AllAmericanOfDenver Do you have to heat shrink the side windows? i tried to tint my toyota avalon, and the back side windows sucked, i keept getting those fingers at the bottom.
@zyou8er : windows on vehicles are curved so most, if not all, windows need to be heat shrunk . Automotive tinting is a lot different than flat glass. That is why you get "fingers" because you are putting a flat sheet of film on a curved surface.
@zyou8er Use something like some rubber gloves to prevent that . When I did mine I screwed it up a few times before I got it right . The tools I used are ( scotch tape , the rubber thing in the kit , the application stuff, razor blades ) .

@SuicidalClown - As part of the curing process you need to leave your windows up for 3 days. Sorry for the confusion :- 0

Hi there. I have been tinting for a while now. Yes, for some could be easy job but surely experience and hands on needed to get the perfect finish,
Can you pls tell me how do you get around on doing the Audi A4 door windows?
I am struggling to give myself enough space on putting the film through. Any advice?

ikirika 2 years ago
Some place use a elmers gel glue on the dot matrixs. Which can be quite messy and a hassle. We just do a dry application and it comes out really good
