  • This is by far the best version of this on YouTube

  • Didn't the entire band from Boz Skags end up becoming Toto?

  • @aegisgfx Nope. The band seen in this video did feature the incredible Jeffrey Porcaro (RIP), David Hungate & Steve Porcaro (on that amazing keyboard solo @ 3:34). All three of them did go on to Toto, as did Mike Porcaro (not pictured), who took over bass duties after David Hungate left. The wonderful Mr. David Paich co-wrote many songs on Silk Degrees, and he and Jeff Porcaro actually founded Toto. And I know Steve Lukather also played with Boz, though he's not shown here either.

  • @aegisgfx ...all of which to say, Boz had a large and changing line-up of great musicians accompanying him. It just so happened that on Silk Degrees, the trio of Hungate, Paich & Porcaro 'gelled' so well w/ Boz's style that more of their friends/relatives (Lenny Castro, as well, on percussion) ended up involved. Quite the lineup, wouldn't you say?! : )

  • Can't stop listening this! =D

  • Nuts how good this is...when the band hits those two big chords in the intro after Boz sings "and he ain't comin' back" you can feel the ferocious power even through little laptop speakers...and I can't even tell where they segued from the rehearsal to the concert audio. Just an amazing musical performance!

  • Go, Jeff!!! You're alive again!!!

  • @alannavx Damn straight!! I love this stuff....this song is what actually made me sit up and notice Jeff's artistry...and then I began realizing just how MANY songs that I love just HAPPENED to have his playing on them. What a guy, may he rest in peace.

  • bad ass jam

  • @BioBrokun yes i agree with u. but i thought this came out in 1977 instead of 1976 from Boz Scaggs-how about that. a 1977 hit that actually came out a year earlier even though it was tops on the pop music charts back in 1977.
