Many abortion clinics do not talk about adoption as an option even though about 40% of young girls say adoption would be their first choice if they got pregnant. The system pushes abortion because it is easy and therefore only about 4% of these unwanted babies actually get adopted.
Adoption is also expensive and cumbersome. My sister is adopted and I plan to adopt children myself.
You are limiting the "right to the life", soon it will be euthanasia and sooner the capital punishment and the "right to the life" it became a lie in front of your eyes.
yeah lilmerboy...you are right, the police should not get all concerned when people climb up trees or bridges and threaten to jump. police have better things to do like protect the living.
I agree that fact-checking should be equal. Not one-way in the media. So if that is your purpose of the video, then I agree. Even as an Obama supporter. Thanks for clarifying.
Even if this statistic is true, are you suggesting that the abortion rate has declined just because Bush is pro-life?
Has he made any laws against abortion?
What are you implying about Barack? That he is wrong about the statistic? Or that he is a bad person and shouldn't be president because he believes in choice?
I'm just wondering if this is making a statement...no animosity...just trying to figure out what this video means.
That said, yes Bush worked with the congress to ban partial birth abortion where all but the babies head is delivered and a sharp object is inserted and the babies brain is scrambled and removed.
As for Obama...I think the take-away is that while Obama uses a lot of stats, he isn't always rights and further, the media who loves to fact check McCain, can't fact check something as basic & objective as this.
hmm...over 2,000 people have watched this...isn't that more than the 462 the watched your most watched video? And you even have the word "films" in your name.
When you make video people care about, then comment about others.
The reason abortion rates are down is because women can get the morning after pill from the pharmacist. Another right that The Right is trying to take away.
Hi, my name is Harry Oldsack. I"m an abortionist. I drive a BMW, I have a beautiful wife, I attend mass every sunday, my kids are all college bound, I live in a $500,000 home,I get up in the morning, drive to the clinic and kill babies 5 days a week no questions asked. Is this a great country or what?
It is disgusting isn't it. That is the point. But by all means. Vote for Obama.....He defends the rights of the Oldsacks all over this nation who go to work in the morning knowing they are going to kill babies all day. Pray for forgiveness after you vote you f..king loser.
I doubt anyone is pro-abortion. Most ppl call it pro-choice. They believe that a woman has a choice. There are other issues out there, ie education, the war, healthcare, economics. The abortion issue shouldn't be the deal breaker for you.
So are you saying that Bush has been the President since 1974 or that 1.2 million(2000) is less than 1.2 million(2005)? And abortion rate and number of abortions are different numbers. Barack didn't say that abortion hasn't went down, he said it hasn't went down during this presidency.
So we are looking at different sources, neither of which can claim to be absolute. But lets use your numbers.. That's a 1% change, if any, a year. No change isn't hyperbole.
According to the Guttmacher Institute the abortion rate also went down during the Clinton Administration. That also reinforces Barack's point.
so we should legalize the choice to steal too? if we can trust women to no kill their baby with a heartbeat then we can trust them with something far less significant...right?
that's a good question. but even for the the most ardent pro-lifers, it won't be considered murder. probably a more accurate term that can be used is homicide, not murder. another question that should be asked is are they trying to kill these fertilized eggs or are they trying to create life rather than destroy them. i don't deny that it's a controversial issue as well. doesn't change the fact that no one is sure when life begins. better to err on the side of caution when "lives" are at stake.
if you call Obama a liar, what do you call Bush? or McCain in that sense. from mission accomplished to do not recalls, from anthrax to empty e-mail boxes, how many times do you have to be lied to to just repeat the same damn rhetoric you seem to be talking about? WAKE UP SHEEPLE! :p
didn't know it was ok for obama to lie just because bush and mccain lied as well. obama has been a senator for less than 4 years and he's lied as much as any other politician in the country. at least mccain isn't friends with known terrorists and america-haters. at least mccain bought his houses with clean money, not with the help of a convicted scam artist. wakey wakey.
Whether the rate went up or down, the real question is, did having a pro-life president have anything to do with it?
That's the research I'd like to know about.
I think Obama's presidency would lower it even further - he wants to strengthen faith-based initiatives, provide more support for adopters and give women incentives to have the babies such as specialized health care to help with unwanted pregnancies.
That is a good questions. The question is there any pro-life legislation that Bush helped get passed. I know he signed the ban of the partial-birth abortion procedure in 2007.
I really don't see how faith-based initiatives would effect abortion rates. Maybe they do and maybe Bush's starting of them had some impact.
I am interested to hear Obama's plan to provide adoption support...I haven't heard any details yet so i can't evaluate it.
The recent stats were taken per capita, and it ya really research the 2006 findings they are debatable at best. Pure abortions in 1992 were peaked at 1.6 million rising from mid 80s every year to that point. From 93 to 2000 they declined consistantly. 96 - 2000 they were under 800k. 2001 right back upto 1.6 a year again down to 1.2 in 2006. Why so low during a demacratic administration is the question to ask.
Do your own research and look close at the legislation passed over the early 2000's concering abortion clinic access to the poorer regions of the country, and compare to the legislation passed in the 90s to alow more access for them.
Are you saying that the Planned Parenthood official research group that I quoted are false? Please provide your sources and let me know why you think Planned Parenthood would lie about the numbers.
Your dead wrong, i have paper work from my Republican Right winged sister inlaws stats as a hot line for pregnant women that show the 90s in the 800,000s and any googled government stat website will show them even lower then that. /google yearly abortion stats. Its not that hard, much easier then posting a bogus statted video.
Discver the stats that came out this year were that per-capita abortion rates have never been lower in 30 years. This sounds great with the exception that since the 90s we have over 75million more people in the country and the study never clerifies the age brackets old government stats kept discarding the numbers for women under 13 and over the age of 70, so like i said the study is debatable at best.
The other source you did not mention in the which i referenced were the governments own recorded stats. Get away from the leading source like planned parenthood and go right to the keeper of the full data, your own governments stats. Thats where i got mine, my sister inlaws just more or less mirrored them.
The Goverment/CDC data does not include a few state including California as those states refuse to report their medical abortion statistics.
The Guttmacher Institute's data includes estimates for those states. The main one is California which Planned Parenthood has a good presence so they have better data in the government because they use their internal data while the government does not have that.
That is why I chose my source as I believe it is generally considered the most complete.
Yeah ummm....that's because that is the absolute latest year reporting data is available from. 2006 will be available next year. 2007, the year after that....etc.
It really helps you not look stupid if you actually bother to watch the video and click the source link.
They could have gone down, or they could have done up but Obama should only make statements based on the most recent released research. His statements are obviously in contradiction with the statistics that were published from the Planned Parenthood research arm that I quoted.

hahahahaah get the facts.
There's 1.6 million abortions a year, and only 120,000 people want to adopt a year.
You do the math, obviously adoption isn't an option.
Guess you don't have a heart if you want to fill up orphanages with babies that have nowhere to go.

digiring, your numbers are a bit off...
"In 2005, 1.21 million abortions were performed, down from 1.31 million in 2000."
- Guttmacher Institute
This data is verifiable online.

What data source are you looking at?
"lets use your numbers.. That's a 1% change, if any, a year."
It is a 7.63% over 5 years...which is more than 1%. How can you say "if any' when the data clearly shows a change?
Are you saying that a drop of 100,000 abortions is no change?
I'm willing to listen to you but your numbers and logic are just off.
What does the Clinton have to do with this? Obama didn't reference him. Clinton mostly had a Rep congress too.

In-vitro fertilization is also anti-baby, if you believe that life begins at conception.
For every successful implantation, roughly a dozen "lives" are thrown the trash can.
Are you going to outlaw in-vitro fertilization?
