(1) play the right part. don't improvise his lines, it needs to be played like Rocco did it. and (2) no soul... doesn't groove. Loosen up and feel the funk, dont just play the notes... they need to say something.
Other than that, you have a nice bass! Now do another one and do it right.
Love to see a real basist (no plekter, just fingers) as i see you do this fantastic funk-be-here with the real three right hand fingers. I love this almost as TOP.
he gets more into at the end...u can hear it...and u can hear were his notes are late in the music...not often just a few passages. its really good cover. my arms cramp up on the last minute or so

It's not a bad playalong, but it sounds labored. He's concentrating too hard on getting it right.. and he's in the pocket almost all the time, but that doesn't mean he's grooving.

You've got the notes but it sounds like shit because you aren't grooving it at all. Watch the Marcus Miller version of this to get the feel. You are a good bass player though.
