  • this is cool and could be applied to so many things other than workspaces.

  • I am testing this at the moment.. Works great in London.. Still waiting for more to review elsewhere.

  • wWOW GREAT WORK TOM. VERY SHORT PRECISE AND EXTREMELY INFORMATIVE WITH A GREAT PRODUCT TO HOLD THE INTEREST AS WELL. NOT YOUR NORMAL THEME BUT VERY WELL DONE AND A DIFFERENT FORM OF PROFESSIONAL ISM .

DEFINITLY 5 STARS AND I'M GLAD TO SEE THIS DEVICE AS WELL..

    MUDDy

  • I'm not sure about all the arguing going on in various comments, but I think this is a really neat idea, and a handy application, regardless of how it works. Like a more sophisticated version of the Wifi t-shirt.

This is certainly something I'd use, especially in a city I was unfamiliar with. Perhaps something similar rating hotels' internet availability would be handy, too?

  • wonder if one of the criteria is "number of other aspirational jerks who will see you using your iphone/macbook/whatever and think, wow, what a cool, together guy, i bet he must be important"

  • it isnt using object recognition or anything, just the internal compass, and gps of the iphone. any idiot can overlay text in the camera, and it is not an example of aug. reality. the fact it works without using information from the camera input, means by definition it isnt.

  • augemented reality! WOW!

  • that is just WOW!

  • Yesterday I visited the Cathedral in Cologne and there was a guy in a suit sitting in a pew working on his Mac.

  • when i look for somewhere to work i usually end up at WORK!!!

  • pretty average. not using real augmented reality.

  • Images and text superimposed over realtime images - how is that "not using real augmented reality"?

  • it works pretty much the same as any HUD or similar device. So yes it is real actual augmented reality.

Maybe you'd like to explain why you think it is?

  • And, as you're holding it up looking for places to go, someone rides past on his bike and snatches it out of your hand.

    Brilliant.

  • Yes, you're right, we should stop inventing things like this because of thieves.

  • You know it's odd, but you seem to have missed the inherent humour in my post.

I thought, for a change, I'd leave the wink out of this as everyone here is a grown up and can read between the lines on their own (particularly as a goodly number of peoples viewing this are here because Stephen Fry, Derren Brown and Robert Llewellyn linked to it on Twitter).

it seems I was mistaken ;o)

  • Simple solution, the iPhone needs an app or such, that detects things moving towards it at speed!

  • And the squeaking of wheels...

  • I mean, this would be great for students too. Would also be killer for me - I'm always looking for quiet places to sit and drink tea.

  • Simple. No stupid features. Does the one simple and genius task you want it to.

    Wonderful idea.

  • Bet you he wasn't actually working, he was just playing Minesweeper!

  • seeing as he was using a Mac he probably wasn't

  • Oh! Well spotted. You should go on CSI.

  • Looks a little pervy to me if your holding up your iphone 'filming' everywhere.

  • Amazing!

  • But how many places does it actually work in? =/

  • wow.... only on iPhone.

  • So cool. Too good to be true?

  • ok until some hooody swipes your phone while walking along ;-)

  • I work as a writer of fiction, and I this app is perfect for me.

Only prob is I don´t live in London, I live in a small city in

Norway. Only one good café to choose from ...

  • Thank you Mr. Stephen Fry.

  • I agree, well said.

  • It's really a Corporate reality. Of course it will end up favouring those nice little places to go which contribute to the service more perhaps than those that don't. Just like YouTube, it'll start off as something useful and gradually over time you'll find yourself in the audience at the X-Factor cheering on the latest manufactured non-entity and you won't have a clue how you got there! :)

  • Hmm, yes.

Can see where you're coming from.

  • Nice Tom.... looks like youve got alot of good work on at the moment.

  • not bad.

  • looks good

  • did you use the d90? nice footage

  • No the d90 did my head in so I got an adaptor and loads of primes.

  • yeah its tricky, u back in bristol now?

  • looks like a good app.

  • how does it work? Like when you point it? WTF?
